It was right off 440 so no downtown driving

It was industrial area with not much really close, so not walkable or quaint but we knew this when booking. Security cameras at the intersection and police presence were reassuring, but tells us maybe the area has safety concerns.

The front desk and breakfast staff were friendly and welcoming. The extra chair and laptop desk were very helpful. Appreciated having the fridge in my room.

The shower curtain was inadequate to keep water off the bathroom floor while showering and the shower floor felt slippery .. I am recovering from bunion surgery and a little unsteady on my feet while recovering; I had to be extra mindful and careful stepping in and out of the shower not to slip and fall. A non-slip shower floor surface and/or non-slip mat in the shower would be helpful to prevent slip and fall injuries while showering. I liked having the handheld shower attachment in the shower.

The breakfast had all the ingredients for a continental breakfast. Very good: juices, waffles, yogurt, eggs, bacon etc. The location was convenient for our appointment the next day at the Duke hospital. Regarding location, the traffic noise was a downer but not much can be done about that. The facility was very clean. The room was nice and spacious. Very nice water pressure in the shower!!!

The bed was comfortable but all the pillows were VERY firm. Sometimes in a hotel we might get two firm pillows and two regular pillows, but these were all firm...too firm... The TV guide didn't work so we couldn't select a show to watch. We had to navigate channel by channel to determine what was playing...quite annoying.

Kids had fun in the pool. Nice walking areas with sidewalks around the hotel. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Good variety for breakfast. Dog friendly.

The TV in the breakfast area was set to a high volume. It was on a news channel and there were several families in there. The news had several stories that were not appropriate for young children and, because it was raining, we couldn't find anywhere to sit where we couldn't here the news. My son is 7 and we don't listen to the news when he is around. (He also doesn't play violent video games or watch violent movies or TV) We took our food back to the room, but that was not a comfortable place to eat.

The room was great. The beds were really comfy. The hotel's lobby and breakfast sitting area was just beautiful. The breakfast was DELICIOUS! Oh also the man who brought out the breakfast was very nice. I also liked that the hotel was away from the super busy areas.

OK, so when my Mom and I checked in, the lady that checked us in didn't seem too nice. Didn't tell us where our room was, didn't mention if there was any wifi. Just mentioned check out time and breakfast times. When we got to our room there was still used towels in our shower. I just bagged them up and sat them outside our room (I used the bag as a glove to grab them). This next thing is just because my Mom and I are plus size people. The shower door doesn't slide open wide enough for us to fit through but I know that's kind of an us problem lol

The customer service was excellent. At breakfast a staff member named Sam was very polite and very helpful. I really enjoyed his positive attitude and help. The evening staff member Crystal was also very polite and very helpful. I also enjoyed her help and appreciate her friendly demeanor toward everyone.

One distraction is one night off the lobby area, there were people sitting around, drinking and playing loud music. It can be a distraction for people checking into the hotel or coming and leaving the hotel in the evenings. I am used to a very calm and quite atmosphere in the evenings in the lobby area. It could turn people away if not checked properly.

The room we stayed in was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. Location was about 10 minutes from downtown. Check in was super easy and they informed me at check in that if you aren’t staying 3+ nights that they won’t do room service, so she gave me extra towels.

We were accidentally 5 minutes late getting out of our room to checkout and someone came knocking on the door to see if we were sleeping and when I told them we were packed and were heading out in the next minute they stood there and just waited for us to leave. I can understand if we were 30 minutes late checking out but 5? Kind of ridiculous. She then proceeded to go in and inspect our room to I can only assume see if we left a mess. Also when we turned on the jet tub, small black flakes were coming out.

High ceilings were unexpected, they certainly elevated the room. And security at night with room keys to unlock front doors were great. Nice breakfast provided and in a pretty nice location with bp gas station right down the road. Dropped the keys off before 11am in a bowl so we could just be on our way, that was different to me.

Didn’t see anyone up front at night or in the morning but could’ve just been coincidence where they were briefly not in sight. The room was super close to the main lobby area. It was convenient, little noisy but not too bad at all. We also sleep a little heavier so that’s probably why some noise didn’t bother us. Bathroom door creaked but everything in the room itself was fine!

Hotel was clean, staff were nice. Bed was actually comfortable and noise levels were good. I could faintly hear the guests in the other rooms but I have heard worse in other hotels :) Breakfast was scrambled eggs and bacon with the usual breads and muffins and cereal. It was very good. There is a room service menu in the room that allows you to use a 3rd party service to order things to eat until 1am in the morning. I found this to be a really good service offered by the hotel. Thank you. As I was leaving this morning, a staff member yelled wait wait I have something for you. She asked me to pick a drink from the cooler and then said wait I have one more thing for you! She put the drink I chose in a bag with a bag of chips and M&Ms and said for your adventures. What an amazing thing.

There was nothing I found to be displeasing about my stay.

This property allows pets and is close to a street with sidewalks and grass. We used the stairs and I was surprised they were carpeted to keep down the noise. All areas were immaculate. The breakfast area is well lit and has 3 hot items which we appreciated. I also was glad there was a mirror in the room that I could use while my husband used the bathroom. The blackout curtains worked well.

One of the elevators was broken so the only operative one was in constant use. The toilet in our room flushed so loud we were disturbing our neighbors. When we checked on line for a pet friendly hotel there was no mention of a pet fee. But when we arrived from a seven hour drive we were hit with an additional expense.
