The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, and the rooms were really comfortable places to be. I especially would recommend the king suite with the sofa bed for big groups like mine was :] The location is great in terms of proximity to many great places, most of our trip we traveled by foot The amenities outside of the rooms like the ground floor cafe and rooftop space were a very welcome addition which really makes the hotel, the community spaces were excellent

The area directly outside the hotel was preeettyy sketch at times, the hotel is very secure though, but the mile radius around the hotel has hit less than stellar times. I wouldn't recommend spending too much time wandering the immediate area alone. It seems the city overall is still understandably on the mend, so improvement is coming, eventually. The smaller rooms might be a bit too small in comparison to the king suite, many of them are listed as being able to house 2 guests, but I would add that might only apply to couples, who like to travel lighter, as it's a bit too intimate than most single people would be comfortable with.

The room and shared bathroom were really clean, and the room itself was very comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful when we ended up having to cancel our stay at another hotel for the following day and having to stay at the society hotel an extra night due to the ice storm that hit Portland during our stay. Despite the weather and everything being closed we still walked around and the hotel is ideally situated. We also payed extra for parking and it was so worth it - our rental was safe in a private building parking lot and wasn’t in the storm.

I wish there was a spot to hang out that isn’t our bed our in the middle of the lobby if we wanted to watch a movie or something. Again this isn’t a bad thing and just a personal preference! The lobby had a coffee shop which was great in the morning!

The property & staff itself is outstanding - everything is clean, well kept, & well priced. They have a cute coffee & food & alcoholic beverage bar on the main floor and a rooftop lounge area. It’s all & all very great.

The location isn’t bad, what makes it bad is the amount of homeless people surrounding it. We were afraid to leave our car by itself while unloading & every 5 steps you take there’s a different homeless tent or person. It’s unfortunate because there’s nothing the hotel can do about it but it makes the property way less appealing. It also smells like straight up pee when you walk outside.

Short walk from train station. Restaurants nearby. Nice rooftop, even if not the weather for it. Shared bathroom was very close (no wandering). Helpful staff.

Unhoused folks making noise on the street. Not the hotel's fault, our society is broken.

The stuff is amazing. Everyone is so welcoming, nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and very well designed.

The rooms are quite small but that's okay considering the price. The location isn't great, there are many homeless people just outside of the building, which is fine but sometimes can be unpredictable and could feel a bit unsafe.

I love how they worked around and embraced this beautiful historical building and didn’t tamper with it. My room was simple, clean, and comfortable. The linens and robe was soft and comfortable. The amount of entertainment options the building provided was impressive: the lobby had a photobooth, cafe with delicious food and drinks, comfortable lounge with many different seating options, and roof access to lounge at with heaters for chilly days. They hold their guests baggage on day of checkout until 10pm so they don’t have to trek it around until they go to the airport. They have cute merchandise to buy and free party favors (post cards and pencils). While the neighborhood is rough, they have security measures in place to assure safety at all times.

The location can be rough, but that is out of their control.. and it being in Chinatown provides nightlife and a historical aspect you wouldn’t get otherwise. With their safety precautions, I never felt in danger.

The hotel offers hostel style rooms. Very clean. Quite comfortable. And not crowded.

The hotel only offers the hostel rooms to out of town guests which I am. I moved to Alaska for work. At the time I did not have the requested documentation. The hotel did stll honore my reservation. It may be some time before I stay with them again.

Lol I didn’t know we got a breakfast. I wish someone would have mentioned when we checked in. All the staff was really friendly. We loved the way the lobby/cafe area was set up. The decor and having the fireplace on all the time gave it a warm, cozy atmosphere. Bathrooms were clean despite being shared I never worried about using them. Room was small, but big enough for us and our short stay with cute little touches like the robes.

Haha nothing you guys can change. The location. I should have researched a little more before booking that it was right in the hood. I also didn’t know I would have to pay for parking. Again my lack of research versus anything you guys could change.

Was greeted by a really friendly folk at the front desk well into the night of our arrival. The shared bathroom was spacious and clean, and we were lucky to be right across from it on the 3rd floor. The facility was really clean, even when the building appeared old and historic. Also, I enjoyed the fact that you enter through their cafe, which had a very nice ambiance and sense of safety as many travellers seemed to fancy the spot. Finally, the location was really close to a lot of nice attractions, such as Lan Su garden, the riverside, Pearl District, and Old Town.

Room was a lot smaller than I thought, but I appreciate the wall hangers, wall storage, and under the bed storage. Rooftop was also small and not flushed to the edge. Not a big deal because we only stayed for a night.

The amenities within the hotel are fantastic, especially the roof.

The location, although close to the MAX, leaves a lot to be desired.
