The Hi-Lo is located right downtown and near several food trucks, making it easy to grab a late-night bite. It's also conveniently located near the waterfront. The hotel was quieter than expected, and my goodness, I was impressed with how lovely the suite was. The shower was glorious - lots of water pressure and lovely soap. The beds were also very comfortable. The rooms also receive a lot of light. All around, very lovely. Drew, the gentleman who greeted me upon check-in, was very friendly and courteous—a true hospitalian.

An in-room fridge to keep some drinks cold would have been nice. Parking is available off-site, but it is close by and reasonably priced.

Nice boutique hotel...Quite, clean, comfortable bed, friendly staff

The hotel is situated in a less-than-ideal location. The hallway has a musty smell, which is likely caused by the carpet. The air conditioning unit in the room is a bit loud. The bathroom lacks sufficient hooks for hanging towels. A mini-fridge is not provided in the room for storing water. Also, the ice maker on the 5th floor was out of order, so we had to go to the next floor, where the small ice machine had very little ice available. Valet parking at the hotel costs sixty-two dollars per day.

It’s a great historic building. It’s not a big hotel so it felt intimate. The lobby is really welcoming and is a great place to hang out, as well as check in/out. There’s a long table with chess, checkers and tic tac toe boards, comfy couches, even a piano to play as well as some items that invite guest interaction, and everything is chic and stylish but also inviting. Only a few blocks from Powell’s Books and Voodoo Donuts; and a super popular food truck area is only a block away. Staff is super friendly and welcoming.

Beautiful aesthetic, the vaulted ceilings were epic! Loved the style and smell when we walked in. Really nice shower and soaps- especially appreciated the liquid hand soap! We had some drinks downstairs and they were excellent!!

Really needed some bottled waters- didn’t realize there weren’t any until we got back from our night out but didn’t want to venture outside again. Would have loved a couple of bottled waters or even a small store downstairs to purchase essentials. Also the bed was too hard and the pillows were too big/firm for me.

The bed and bedding were so comfortable! My partner and I had such a comfortable stay, very cozy and warm in the room. The room was very spacious and allowed us to spread out without having to feel cramped like other hotel rooms. I did appreciate that the hotel was available to provide some items like hotel slippers upon request. The staff was very friendly and did their best to accommodate our requests. They were very informative and helpful over the weekend!

I did find it odd that there was no refrigerator in the room? This would have been helpful with small leftovers from restaurants or adding bottle water and drinks to the fridge.

How welcoming the staff was at the front desk.

The lobby smelled light cigarettes, and the hallway oh the 5th floor did as well. The shower I was in still have hair in the shower floor. I’ve worked as Manager in hotels for several years and understand the inspection for housekeeping after a room has been cleaned and there was a few things that wouldn’t have passed inspection in my experience. The comforter was super flat.

The location is awful. There are a lot of night clubs around and all night there was drag racing and loud noises all night long! We could not sleep the car racing was awful!! Too bad location is poor, hotel and staff are nice.

It was beautiful! The staff was amazing and the room was absolutely gorgeous. Also, you get 2 free bottles of water when you check in and check out is at 12pm. Very convenient.

The area around it *looks* a bit sketchy as it was my first time there and I was solo but everything turned out nice :)

Lovely architecture and interior design. Great location because it’s walking district all the attractions. Good ambience with free drinks hour in the day.

Basics like the key card, safe and flush were not functioning. Everything had to checked and out a battery, etc.. the flush took half a day to get repaired. The property is surrounded by homeless folks and didn’t feel very safe.

Gorgeous hotel! Very clean and the staff was very friendly. Food was delicious and the drinks were a-1!

When I first got to the hotel, I went to wash my hands and brown water came shooting out. I figured it was just sediment from maybe not being used often but other than that, it ran clear my entire stay. No issues.
