Nice clean rooms. The beds were amazing. Good air conditioning. Friendly staff, especially Sonja (I believe her name was) our waiter at the roof top restaurant Tope. She took very good care of us and told us about nice places to visit. We relly liked the quesadilla and rockfish tacos at the restaurant and the churro bites were amazing. Very nice to lounge in the lobby area and have coffee from the in-house coffee shop. Close distance to the water front which is nice for walks, the saturday market and all kinds of stores for shopping and close but not too close to the train that can take you to Cascades station shopping center or airport for example.

The immediate area is not so great, visible drug use. But that being said we never felt unsafe. There is always someone stationed at the door/lobby.

The hotel is beautifully decorated and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooftop restaurant was gorgeous and convenient after a long day of travel, and the food was also delicious and great value for money.

The hotel is conveniently located in Chinatown/Old Town, however there's a really high number of homeless people in the area and since I was travelling with my teenage daughter, we didn't always feel safe. We had a Snug room which is appropriately named. If anyone is travelling with a lot of luggage, it's a very tight squeeze for two people to get around the room so it would be okay for one person but any more than that, you may consider getting a larger room.

Lovely old refurbished building, great bedroom with fab views through dual aspects. Loved the retro vibe and views from the room on the eighth floor across cityscape to green hills. Genuinely warm welcome and helpful crew, quick check in and out with room upgrade much appreciated.

The local neighbourhood is confronting to an overseas visitor , I’m not a country mouse, (I’ve lived in Glasgow, London and Melbourne ) After checking in we felt feeling reluctant to wander at night and even during the day left bewildered by the homelessness and obvious drug culture on all surrounding streets. Portland clearly has an overwhelming problem it needs to address before the city just shuts up shop to visitors in the downtown area particularly.

High end furniture and lounge area with vibes makes this a comfortable stay. Spacious room and no dog fee is a big plus. Staff sits around while you load your luggage instead of helping out but everyone is friendly. Free bikes are nice but it was too hot out to partake.

Despite not having a pool or a gym, the hotel adds a $30/day resort fee. The location was in the middle of DT PDX, with lots of broken glass and unhoused people roaming the streets. Pick a better neighborhood.

I really like the historic features of the building with the modern decor and amenities. The buildings location was great for walking around even though there was an issue with homeless people surrounding the block it’s located on. The hotel did have security that let me in with my late arrival so that was reassuring.

The homeless people all around making it somewhat uneasy when wanting to walk around the neighborhood.

Great location in Old Town. My gf and I went for a music festival and it was only a short walk to the riverside. VooDoo Donuts was a block away along with other restaurants, an arcade, and gas station across the street. There is outdoor parking for the night, around $16-$20/night or you can use the hotel valet for quite a bit more. We parked behind the hotel and no issues with break ins in any vehicles parked there. There are homeless in the area, however, we felt safe in the area. They seem to keep to themselves. It is busy with ppl day and night walking around. Great staff, room was spacious, clean and bed was very comfortable. The coffee at the cafe was delicious in the morning. Will definitely check out the rooftop bar next time. Will definitely stay here again.

Property looks just like the pictures. Really Modern with a cool rooftop restaurant (did not visit) and speakeasy (did visit and drinks were decently priced and yummy). Location was everything — close to really popular restaurants and the waterfront. Easy for us to use public transportation (did not use Uber/lyft once). Right across from the gas station so easy for us to get water and snacks. People say room size was small but it was perfect for us (especially since we were only there for the weekend). The open shower concept was indeed annoying but manageable.

Location…. A good and a bad I guess. As other reviewers stated — a large increase of homelessness in Portland which is outside of the hotels control. There were a lot, A LOT of flies outdoors which made their way into the lobby. Our hotel room was on the corner of the street so it was VERY loud until 2-3 AM some nights which made it hard to sleep soundly.

The staff on the whole were helpful. The second room we were moved to was great. We were moved because road works that started early in the mornings was very noisy.

The first room we had was minute. There was no room for our cases and the double bed was pushed up against the wall. We moved room due to noise and we were given a much better room. But I don’t know if it would have been worth the money.

The staff at the Hoxton were seriously out of this world attentive and kind. When we arrived, their computer system was down and they gave us a bottle of prosecco to enjoy while we waited in their really beautiful lobby. It was down less than ten minutes and they were apologetic and upgraded us to a suite as well. We were absolutely blown away as we never would have been able to afford the suite and it really felt like such a small inconvenience. Throughout the entire time, every interaction with a staff member was absolutely delightful. We cannot thank any of them enough for making our anniversary stay so memorable.

It's hard to find anything we didn't like and it feels nitpicky at this point but I would say, something that would have made our stay even better was some sort of Bluetooth speaker in the room to have music (just soft music during our bath, not like party music!) would have been lovely. I was also super allergic to the scented soaps and toiletries, but I'm very used to that when we travel and always bring my own. Oh, another very small thing but would have loved a couple throw blankets to snuggle up on the couch under.

I had a nice little room that was clean, comfortable, and had a large window. The check in and out process was easy and they kept my bag safe. Location is within easy walking distance of the light rail to the airport, which is really inexpensive.

This hotel is located in a neighborhood that has lots of nudie bars, and is used by many homeless folks, who are leaving their mark on the area. I was solo but never felt unsafe, even late at night, but the streets and sidewalks are well used and lively.
