The location was perfect for visiting north west South Dakota - an hour from everything we wanted to see, the badlands, bear lodge (devils tower) the needles, Custer state park etc. The price was amazing for the quality of the motel. It’s clean, not in disrepair, the beds were comfy and the shower was great. The best part was definitely the owners - Rhonda and Jake went above and beyond to take care of us. They stored our kayaks for us while we stayed with them as we didn’t want to drag them around with us what out exploring. They couldn’t have helped us more! They are the best motel hosts I’ve ever experienced and I stay in motels a LOT. We can’t wait to come back and visit with them again!

I have stayed here several times when I come in town for my appointment at Ft Meade VA hospital. The reason I always stay at the Sturgis Motel are simple, the standard customer care and facilities are very high. Some of the employees even remember my name, my vehicles and they are South Dakota friendly, which means the level of customer service is extraordinary.

It was hot, the weather that is, I would have liked a room on the side that did not get the afternoon sun. Next time I'll request that. The views on the side I stayed on were the best though so it's a trade off

Didn’t eat breakfast at all. I was very surprised how quiet the location was. Patio tables and chairs outside was nice I could eat my lunch outside.

Bed/mattress wasn’t the greatest however the clean lions made up for up. Sheets very soft and towels super white. The owners son did mention they were waiting on new mattresses.

We had an amazing experience at the Sturgis Motel - the entire facility was clean and had all the amenities we needed. The service here was remarkable - the wonderful lady at the reception desk was so friendly and even gave us the option to stay in an upgraded room which had recently been remodelled. This motel was our best stay during our entire trip in the Black Hills, I'd recommend this to everyone needing a place to stay in the area!

Great independent motel. Nothing fancy. Mother and son owners friendly and really helpful, e.g. provided a kettle for boiling water as my wife does not drink coffee. Laundry facilities good - free washing powder. These people anticipate their guests needs and provide, unlike some of the other hotels we've stayed at on this road trip. Hard working people who deserve to be supported. The motel is close to the highway, great for a one night trip and straight on the road.

There is free coffee in the morning but no grab and go breakfast, a minor point.

Family owned not a big chain motel..they went out of way to make you feel welcome. Motel had common areas to sit and relax. Offered towels to dry dew off your motorcycle..all in all an exceptional place to stay highly recommend and if ever back this way I will definitely stay here again.

Super comfy bed and room space, laundry available to use, friendly helpful staff, love the deck and gathering spots to enjoy a great summer evening! Use of bbq, good spaces to park a motorcycle, convenient for groceries, downtown, and other areas of entertainment! Favourite place to be in Sturgis!

We were treated with the upmost respect, courtesy, and honesty. I would recommend anyone to stay and enjoy this great place. Every time I have to travel to take my boys back and forth to college we will stay here. This place has more respect for people than your chain hotels, motels and inns!!! By far never will we stay at another place than here!! We even got the best recommendation as to where to go have dinner!!

There was nothing to not like.

Everything was great it is a bit dated but I think it adds to the charm. It was perfectly clean and comfortable but its greatest asset is the owners . I met both the owners who are mother and son . Two of the nicest people I met on my holiday in America. I would highly recommend them I hope to get back one day !!

I booked this hotel for my adult daughter who was traveling from Rapid City Airport in the morning. We have stayed in Rapid multiple times and this hotel had a much better price, quieter area for parking, was an excellent value, and she could enjoy the deck and the surrounding town on foot.
