The hotel is decorated with really amazing art and pop sculptures. The lobby bar, pool and rooftop bar were the best parts of this hotel. The rooms are ultra small and beds are tucked in between 3 walls, leaving only one side to exit out of the bed. For those with mobility issues and traveling with a companion this could present an issue. With that said, the beds and pillows were super comfortable and clean. Our shower leaked onto the floor outside the bathroom and kept leaving puddles of water incessantly even when the water in the shower wasn’t on.

Some of the staff were less than friendly and not helpful at all. Check in and out was a super simple process, but the woman checking my group in treated me like I was incapable of operating an iPad or card scanner. If she was trying to be helpful, she was incredibly rude about doing so.

Overall, I really liked this hotel. I shared the room with a close friend. Yes, the room is small, but comfortable. My one gripe is that the bathroom is about ten feet from the bed, and there's no fan or other white noise. Hope you don't mind your roommate becoming well acquainted with your bowel movements! Otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable. We were super excited to change the color of the shower light whenever one of us showered. We loved going up the rooftop pool, especially since we haven't seen much sun yet this year in Michigan. The rooftop bar wasn't open when we got up there, so we called the front desk, and they sent someone up to open the bar. We appreciated their flexibility and willingness to open up the bar for us (and the other pool goers).

It was my first time staying at CitizenM, it’s so cozy and modern, sometimes I didn’t even want to leave my room.

Stuff seemed irritated and it was as soon as I entered the property. Just wasn’t great first impression. One more day the person who made coffee for me seemed annoyed that I asked for extra hot coffee which I mentioned while ordering and left tips, once I tasted the coffee I asked to warm it up and as in most places where is customer blaming culture, she was trying to burn it with anger. Not sure what is the problem of people like this, especially when you leave tips. Maybe some discriminative thing because I am white.

We loved the room, the price, and the location. We are in our late 40s so fully digital technology controlled room was a bit put of our league. Once we figured it out it was fine. The rooms are tiny but met every need. The fridge was quite tiny and confusing as well but fully met our needs.

Not having access from parking garage directly into hotel. Traveling outside on the sidewalk with all our belongings and no clear view of where to go was frustrating. Also again digital everything. Needed key card to use hotel elevators which I do understand the need. Rooftop pool was awesome yet the bar was closed the entire visit and no outside food or drinks allowed in? That kills our first experience as a couple of a romantic evening without a beverage. Even a tea lol. No hot tub, no covered cabana for privacy up there but we really loved the view and the pool. No free continental breakfast and it was offered but too expensive to add additionally. Our TV sound was terrible. Could barely hear it. We will go back may just do more homework ahead of time.

Amazing place to stay! I loved every bit of my stay from the location being walking distance to so many restaurants and places to drink (if that's your thing). I was a solo traveler, and the room was perfect for me, and even if I had another person. Note - the property has XL King beds ONLY, so there are no two beds. Love that housekeeping was optional and wouldn't be coming by my room every morning, so I got to sleep in. Check-in was a cool process on the second floor. The atmosphere was hip and trendy, yet perfect for all ages. The staff was so kind and helpful through my entire check-in process as well as check out. I stopped by the bar for a soda and water, but the drinks looked amazing! I absolutely looved that I could control everything in my room from the IPad located next to my bed. The storage area is plenty of space located under the bed in drawers. What a great idea to save space. The shower was a cool experience as well. Parking: they don't have valet or onsite parking, but I used the parking garage next to the building at $30 for the entire day, which is worth it so that your car stays sheltered and out of the street or in a dark alley somewhere. Overall, I loved my stay and will definitely come back.

The property and design of the rooms was exceptional. Though not large, every inch was so well planned! Attractive, bright and whimsical. I enjoyed the stay tremendously as much, if not more, than those I've had at "luxury" properties. The efficiency of the room made my stay so pleasant. I was there for business. Getting ready for the day easily was important - the shower was fabulous - Hansgrohe fixtures. The room offered a great night of sleep - lovely linens - good pillows - blackout shades. A nice cocoon atmosphere. The breakfast offering was extensive and delicious. The location being downtown near the State Capitol perfect for me or anyone who wants to visit 6th Street and other key spots. Close to UT/Austin as well. I hope I can return soon.

NOTHING! I was a little worried the property was going to be too "tech" for me - I'm 68 and a tech neanderthal. But not so at all.

The facility was extremely neat and clean. It’s the perfect intimate set up for you and your significant other or perfect for business trips ! The decor was trendy and the space was inviting. Whether you needed help or not, someone was readily available to assist if needed. There was always a smiling face nearby and customer care was unmatched. The rooms were phenomenal and if you are wanting something new and fresh this is the place to be . We have voted we will always choose the citizen for our couples get away stay cation.

The location was perfect, modern, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, decent bar, and an amazing smell in the lobby!

The hairdryer kept blowing the electrics in the room.

I call it a Smart Hotel like a hotel from the 21st century should be. We loved the room tablet for all the controls for the room eg lighting colours, air conditioning. The bed was massive and really comfy. The shower had 2 shower heads. The common areas were inviting with artwork, books, friendly and helpful staff, big buffet breakfast, late night bar, swimming pool on the roof. We came to Austin for the live music and it is very close to E 6th St where all the night life is.

The staff was outstanding, particularly the bearded guy with glasses who retrieved my book after I checked out. He was more than kind. Enjoyed the rooftop bar and even the minimalist decor of my room, and the "living room" lobby was a real treat, especially since I had to wait around for a family me,because to give me a ride.

I admit that the room corridor was a bit of a shock when I checked in after midnight, but I got the joke. CitizenM may not be for everyone, but I'd definitely stay again.
