It's super-charming and great value considering the location. I loved the little breakfast vouchers that you could take to one of three places on the block for a $4.50 discount on your order; I used mine at the Turkish restaurant, and I'm so glad I did. The people at the front desk were all very friendly. The town is very fun and surprisingly lively during the day. Everything is old, but everything is very clean.

Just to save everyone some trouble: The walls are very thin, and someone was doing garbage collection or something very early in the morning that sounded like it was happening right next to my head. And the man-boys revving their motorcycle engines, the train coming through, the people next door chatting into the night. To be honest, I loved it all, but if this is going to bother you, you probably need a different, more bland place.

Andrew who checked me in when I arrived was just a great reception on that first day. He nicely helped to get us settled, recommended places to eat and to order in. Over the rest of the days whenever he was around, he was always friendly and helpful. The hotel is nicely located with a convenient car park behind - easy to get to. Location was good for day trips. Rooms were comfortable and everything was provided for and at hand. Free coffee/tea at the lobby - convenient! The housekeeping staff are excellent - I had left a package of expensive cheese in the room bar fridge and they quickly informed me and returned it to my daughter who collected.

The hotel is a little worn but still very pleasant to stay. The wifi is pretty slow.

An old fashioned hotel in the centre of a small town. It felt like going back in time, but not in a negative way. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are spacious and the bed comfortable. Several restaurants around the corner. We had a nice mediterranean diner at Tuckerbox. Free parking behind the hotel.

No breakfast on Sunday.

Convenient location - good restaurants nearby. Very helpful staff. Clean large room. Had all the basics. Great value for the money.

Parking can be a hassle when the property is fully booked. The hotel has its own parking lot behind the front entrance, but sometimes it gets full. When this happens, you have to park in a public lot a few blocks away. If the parking spaces in front of the hotel are full when you are checking in or departing, you wind up having to make several trips back and forth with your luggage between the hotel and the public lot where you are parked.

The staff were just terrific – friendly and capable. The place has character and charm, this is NOT a cookie cutter hotel. Clean, plenty of space, fridge in room. Great location.

The location on Main St. is perfect to walk short distances to different restaurants, shops, church, and parks. You can walk into NH over the river bridge to access a co-op store which has a full beer and wine selection, produce, deli, groceries, etc The character of the Hotel Coolidge is reminiscent of glory days yet as modern amenities such as TV and dorm size refrig. in the room. Our room had a king size bed, AC, spacious and a large bathroom. There is 24/7 coffee and tea in the lobby as well as daily newspapers, magazines, games, and books. Sitting area which looks out onto Main St., On the first floor where our room was located was a large sitting area with comfortable overstuffed chairs/couch. You can a great value in all ways.

Although the hotel is located on Main St., parking is in the back; however, you can easily access the Hotel through a back entrance where there is also a small table and chairs under an overhang to also enjoy outside.

I went to Ireland last summer for 12 nights. The hotels were excellent and some were about the same age as the Coolidge. In Ireland the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The breakfasts at every hotel could not have been more delicious and nutritious. I would come back to the Coolidge and bring my wife with me, if there was a breakfast thrown in. Some thoughts.

I like older hotels with small rooms. I find it cozy and more comfortable than the modern motels. I did not like that the room was nearly $200 and did not include a breakfast to start the day.

Hotel Coolidge is coming on its centenary. The facility is huge, old, and VERY cool. We had a larger suite-type room at the top of the stairs. Comfortable chairs and TV, large windows and a nice view of the river. They're challenged by the facility's age, but do a wonderful job. If you want a cookie cutter hotel on an interstate bypass, this is not your spot. If you like charm, character and a VERY comfortable bed, at reasonable rates, find this place! When I left my phone in my room, they tracked us down to alert us (we had already checked out).

It is so cool to be able to step off the train and cross the street to your old-timey hotel! People were enjoying the spring sunshine at cafes on the sidewalks of this tiny town, which has as many funky consignment boutiques and theatres as it has blocks, and even more good places to eat. There are options for fine dining, but we enjoyed the very old-school pizza place and the BBQ as well. Free, clean, reliable buses ferry you around the valley, making visits to Dartmouth and reaching trailheads so easy without a car. The staff are friendly, and knowledgeable; they will happily tell you about every detail of their corner of Vermont. The antique feel of this place made for a unique and memorable getaway and I will almost certainly come again. My son and I wanted separate beds so we ended up in a 3 twin room, which was really a suite of two rooms connected by a bathroom, which worked wonderfully for us.

This is nothing like a chain motel. These rooms are mostly unchanged since the 1920's. If you like everything modern and new you will not be happy! We love the historic feel, but the beds and bedding could have been more comfortable. (I would not be surprised if the management has prioritized updating the king beds and bedding over the twins, so keep that in mind.) The biggest negative for us was the lack of room darkening blinds or curtains. There were only venetian blinds and thin white curtains and the hotel is essentially on a city block with lots of lights shining in. I wasn't able to sleep well in a room that bright. I wished that there was separate shampoo and conditioner; I can't use the combo stuff.

Perfect location, wonderful staff, great water pressure, comfortable bed (not as good as my own bed at home, but not sunken in like the beds at some historic hotels). The sitting room was cozy, TV easily took a Roku stick (no need to wrestle with a TV that's bolted to the wall like at some hotels), and we had a fridge and microwave that worked perfectly. We plan to stay here every year!

Basically my only complaint is the lack of blackout curtains! It gets bright in the bedroom, and we had to hang up a blanket so I wouldn't wake up to a shaft of sunlight.
