Great location, comfy beds. Toilet was clean.
Community shower has translucent plexiglass door that you can see inside pretty much. No privacy at all. Also the shower head pressure is VERY poor, technically just oozing out of the shower head. Only one of the 3 shower works (ok?), and everybody only queues for that. I would suggest installing a water pump, or splitting outlet source. As current plumbing situation looks like all 3 shower heads share 1 outlet pressure. Also, i paid an incremental upgrade for a bottom bunk bed in a 8-bed room, staff confirmed shes assigned a lower bed when i booked >1mo prior to my stay. But when i arrived, i was given a top bed. But attending staff offered me a lower bed in a 12-bed. So basically i paid for the upgrade but didnt quite stay for it...

I stayed on 3rd floor of nearby building to main building. I was in 6 bed dorm with fan and bathroom. Unfortunately no shower working in that bathroom but 2 more bathrooms with shower available.in hall. Good water pressure and quick to have hot water. Mattress comfortable, sheets and comforter soft and cozy, towels big and fluffy. Grocery store next door and at least 3 popular looking restaurants within 2 blocks. Staff helpful. Let down by lots of easy maintenance not done to fix closet doors in room, fix toggle from bath to shower, fix blinds, fix bunk beds squeaking, putting hooks in bathrooms, etc. Lots of stairs. Nice to have hangers in closet. Pancake breakfast and rooftop lounge area very good. Walked to White House, mall and national monuments, shopping, metro, and other attractions (may be too far to walk for others so uber may be better).

Breakfast and the Coffee and Pancakes were awesome. Nice way to start the day.
You couldn’t lock your room doors. It’s like anyone could walk in your room at anytime which may have bad intentions. Even though they have cameras, it’s still a security concern. They need to do some beautification projects on the exterior in front and back of the property, such as flower pots, paint. The city needs to fix the sidewalk, it’s dangerous. The owner or management should be on that every day with city to be fix immediately. The kid that does the night shift is useless. They need to hire someone who can handle the issues outside with the homeless. He didn’t address it correctly when I reported that one of the homeless was be threatening and coming on the property to try to enter the inside.

The location is extremely convenient and the cost-quality relationship is pretty good. You can even walk to the main monuments and museums of DC. The facilities are pretty standard for a hostel.
I wouldn't mind if there were more restrooms and the showers aren't private at all, I mean, you can literally watch other people taking a shower because of the glass doors, so if you have a problem with that, maybe you should think twice about your stay in this hostel, that was my biggest issue, otherwise, i would recommend staying in the hostel.

Each morning they would prepare a breakfast of Blue berry pancakes in the kitchen. The kitchen and adjacent social areas are not particularly big but they are are cosy and when I was there it was a very cheery hostel. There is a downstairs area as well and a rooftop deck. The place is clean and the bathrooms were good. The hostel is close to the heart of the city and near all major attractions. There is a subway but only needed it for Arlington and one other thing. Staff were good making people feel welcome and keeping the place under control. There is a small super market practically next store and an urban 'Safeway' about 20 minutes walk away, as well as a liquor store a few doors down. It has a decent kitchen. The air conditioning worked well so even in the 12 bed room, it was quite comfortable at night.
There are lockers in each of the rooms but individual rooms are not secured. This wasn't a problem but it mightn't suit some people. The hostel is a bit of a maze, not a real issue, just saying. There are bathrooms on all levels but sometimes it could be a chore to find one.

The location is excellent, conveniently near the Convention Center and within walking distance of major tourist attractions. The staff is friendly, and the breakfast offered is quite satisfactory, featuring pancakes and coffee.
I experienced a guy snoring quite loudly in the bed above mine in the bunk bed (not the hostel's fault, of course). However, keep in mind that this can happen when staying in a 12-bed room. The water pressure in the showers could be improved, but it's reasonable. Additionally, I wish breakfast hours were earlier. Overall, though, this accommodation offers good value for the money.

Nice location, everything was clean and it is a home so you feel like at home ;P
Too much people squeezed in one place, the rooms are really packed (you sleep head to head or head to toes) and at night there was little air coming in since there was no window (at least in my room) = it was really hot and dry. The rest was fine

Great atmosphere, good facilities and great staff, the owner made us Xmas dinner, legend.
The showers. The were clean and nice but barely any water came out of them. Only downside to my stay, however showers are very important to me so had to drop down to 9/10

The women's restroom/ shower area was very large and not too busy. I spent all day at the conference center- three blocks away- and only returned to sleep and get ready. I like that they let me keep my luggage in their large luggage room after I checked out.
There did not seem to be a clear "lights out" time. One time, the lights were on until ten-thirty, another time they were out at nine. The mattress could have been better.

This was my first time staying in a hostel, and it turned out to be a very positive experience. The location is fantastic—right in downtown Washington, D.C., just a 12-minute walk to the White House and about 10 minutes from the LAZ Parking garage we used (1100 New York Ave Garage, $15 for 24 hours). I stayed in a 12-bed dorm and was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the mattress was. I used earplugs and an eye mask, and despite someone snoring, I slept really well. You’re asked to take your shoes off before entering the house, which keeps everything clean and cozy. The showers were clean, and male and female facilities are separate. There’s also a TV room, though we didn’t use it as we were mostly just sleeping and heading out. The kitchen on the 3rd floor was well-equipped—we brought our own matcha and made it there in the morning. Free tea and coffee are available, and pancakes are served daily from 8:30–10:00 am (included in the rate). They looked great, but we chose a savory breakfast instead. We walked to the Capitol and White House in the evening and drove to the zoo the next morning. Overall, a great introduction to hostel stays—clean, convenient, and a good value.
