Duo Nomad is hands down the best hostel experience I’ve had in DC out of my seven stays. The staff is absolutely amazing—extremely friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything you need. They truly make the place feel welcoming and comfortable. The location is great, especially if your focus is the National Mall and major landmarks. While it’s a bit farther if you prefer walking to Dupont or Logan Circle, the convenience of being just one block from the metro more than makes up for it. You can get anywhere in the city with ease. Considering the combination of price, location, and overall friendliness, this is by far the best value you’ll find in DC. Highly recommend!

The restroom and ahower were a bit small and lacked privacy, but completely reasonable in a hostel context.

The hostel is clean and comfortable. It has lockers and the beds are fine.

I don’t like that they don’t have rooms only females.

The people! Very friendly, helpful and encouraging. I wish I had gotten more chances to interact with them. I had read about the chocolate chip pancakes in reviews, so decided to shelve my diet for the day and gave them a shot and they were a solid ten!

I was there only for a night and was overall happy with my choice. The building is pretty thin-walled and creaky, so it took a lot of effort to fall asleep. But if the priority is to spend a night or two in a safe place with the basic amenities without having to spend too much money (other hotel options around the time were at least 200 dollars more!), this is a brilliant place to crash! A suggestion from me to the staff would be to consider setting up locker options!

Very nice suburb in Washington DC with a supermarket and a metro station nearby. Also, they served a great breakfast consisting of pancakes. The staff was very professional and was always around. Overall, I had a great stay in Duo Nomad.

For the price, there wasn't anything bad to mention. Although, I felt like some things were not very secure as I left my suitcases to get later in the day of my checkout, and they didn't have any way of ensuring someone else couldn't take them. In the other hand, they do have lockers for some small stuff.

The value was great. The facilities were clean. The common area was a great place to visit with other travelers--better than staying by yourself. The other occupants were amiable and respectful. Breakfast was basic--pancakes and lemonade--but good and sufficient. Trader Joe's was close and the pantry and refrigerator was great to getting my own food for meals that I ate there.

The freezer wasn't working so my frozen items, like ice cream, melted. I am sure it will be fixed for the next visitors. I would have preferred the lower bed of the bunkbed. The bunkbed was difficult to climb--just a standard bunkbed. One of the showers of the 2 showers available to men wasn't working. I only experienced a slight delay in taking a shower. So a protein, like eggs, for breakfast would have been nice.

The location is right in DC. Near all the attractions you wld want to visit. The premise is perfect for a solo backpack kind of traveller or a group of 4. Facilities are well thought out. Pancake for breakfast is a good addition.

The gents bathrooms are all the way on ground floor so if u stay on 2nd floor u have to walk down and u will go through the living room that cld have other people. The check in gentleman on 16th was very unwelcoming. For me coming to DC for first time he scared me to be honest. First thing was bring ur passport ( through sm pegion hole). Then almost shouts to my friend who was helping with my bags that he cant come in, then orderin me to remove shoes. It felt like am walking into some cult meeting. The gent shld improve in his customer handling skills and even his appearance. He scared me. The ladies were very pleasant and made me feel comfortable.

I find the property excellent for solo or group travellers. The security system is excellent. There's a brewed coffee and pancakes every morning for guests that you can enjoy. It is situated near the iconic places of Washington DC. The room was enough for any travellers who need for short stay in Washington DC. However, not good if you have so many luggages because it will be difficult for you to go upstairs with the not so spacious hallway and room assignment. One of the customer officer representatives I engaged was helpful and kind. I stayed for a week. I gave her some USD becuase I was really happy with services and her style of accommodating me. The Cook was kind and polite also, he gave me directions. Of course, I gave him tips because I was satisfied.

One of the in-charge or on duty was a little bit rude. When I was speaking to him, asking for something earnestly, he didn't open the hole of glass window/barrier. He just responded that he cannot do it. It was difficult to hear what he was saying to me. He told me he is the boss. I just said okay after getting his message. He should have replied me with some kind considerations and response. Maybe he was stress that time, that is why he was a little bit rude. When I asked the lady the following day about him, she said that he was not the boss. He's just like her working in the property.

I had to make a last minute reservation, I arrived to check in after midnight and luckily everything went well. There was a last minute change because the room I was supposed to stay in ended up being taken but the staff promptly gave me a better alternative (probably different from what may appear as my booking here). The room was great, clean, spacious and the air conditioning was just right.

I'm not a fan of American food as a whole so when breakfast is mentioned it's basically waffles with honey and coffee. There's no fruit, eggs, bacon etc. It's just waffles (but I love waffles so it was ok)

Everything! Check in was smooth and easy, rooms were spick and span, bed was extremely comfy and the house itself was perfect and neat. Check out process was excellent too, and they were kind enough to hold my bags till 3pm. Loved my stay here, 10/10. Will definitely stay here when i’m back in DC. Particular shoutout to Lamonte and the Russian/ Eastern European girl (forgot her name) who checked me in.

The hostel itself has the atmosphere of a real home and family. AC and J were fantastic. They were welcoming, helpful, and pleasant. The ambiance and location of the establishment were fantastic, and it was within walking distance of the metro, shops, and restaurants. Cleanliness and comfort are common, as is silence at night and early in the morning. AC makes delicious pancakes, ranging from plain to blueberry and chocolate. Breakfast was generally satisfactory, despite the lack of options. My stay was unquestionably fantastic.
