Two blocks from the mall; clean; very nice staff; although rooms are small, there was plenty of storage and I never felt as if there was never enough space; excellent food but there is a subway and a cafe across the street; mcdonalds around the corner if you're trying to save some money

no free coffee in the lobby throughout the day; you could have made an exception during inauguration weekend when you were charging $500 a night.

The location was great and the check in process was smooth. We found parking right outside though it is quite limited. The downstairs bar area was lively and I liked the living room area for working and reading. The room had everything you needed and I liked the TV interface. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room had everything you needed to work, sleep, and dress for the day.

The room we were in was incredibly small. The bed spanned the width of the room and was placed against the window and only allowed entrance from one side. As a couple this meant that if you wanted to get up in the middle of the night you had to crawl over or wake your companion. The bathroom was a shower - toilet combo unit (like on a boat/ship) which is efficient but didn’t feel that private. Ultimately, I think this room is perfect for a solo traveler but not necessarily great for a couple, even for those who are incredibly close.

I like the clever room layout and appreciated the use of technology in check in and out and in the room. Also the great location. The rooftop bar was fun and we also used the lobby bar and seating.

It is a great room for a single guest but not for two people. The bed would be awkward as well as the bathroom noises. I also didn't like having to pay for coffee in the morning. It looked like a great breakfast buffet, but all I wanted was some yogurt - would be nice to be able to buy some things a la carte.

Easy walk to the National Mall. Nearby parking if needed. Staff were helpful

Did not have to use computer notebook for lights. But I turned the lights off with the computer notebook, but then when we returned to the room the light switch didn't turn the lights on again. I had to go to the computer notebook by the bed to turn on the lights. I'm not totally computer savy so for someone else they would have known.

the room layout made it easy to ensure I didn't leave anything behind and there was a spot to put or hang most items. I love the temperature controls and lights. LOVE the two blinds on the window to ensure room is dark. Lots of free TV stations to keep me company. The large size lotions, soap dispenser and free toothpaste.

The weird girl hug doll pillow, there is no tub to take a soak, the desk chair should be more padded, the bed pillows were all the same size and very extra thick - great for a noodle hugging but not for under my neck.

I thought the location was great, very close to the metro station and within walking distance from museums and monuments. Coffee phenomenal. Breakfast could have been a bit less basic. Loved the complementary water availability to fill out bottles and glass bottle availability to take to the room. I think menu could have a few more choices, like more comfort food. The pizza was average. They ran out of cookies which were exceptional. The room, even though small, seemed very spacious and was very well decorated. Really liked the decor and functionality of it. It felt modern, new and very comfortable. The check in and out system was efficient and the staff was very helpful and nice

The location of this property was the biggest benefit to our trip. It saved lots of time when traveling around during the day; we typically took the Metro, traveled by scooter/bike, or walked most everywhere and we never found ourselves too far from the hotel. The amenities worked out great and while the room is definitely efficiency sized, it was very comfortable and had exactly what we needed. They've used the space very wisely and the technology really adds a luxury feel (i.e. the bed was still large and comfortable, the room had blackout curtains you could use, and we casted our own shows to the TV with ease). We didn't plan to spend much time in our room so we loved the value for the price, and we've looked into staying at other CitizenM's throughout the world now that we've seen how well this property worked for us. Also, while we didn't purchase the full breakfast package, we would stop in and get coffee every morning which was very affordable and tasted great. It's a big benefit if you need coffee in the morning because there's not many options around (none between the hotel and L'enfant Metro) and we found other shops didn't open until about 10am on the weekend.

There are so many things to liked about this place: 1. Location - this was the biggest thing in our list of criteria. We had a stroller wagon so we know we will be walking around National Mall. From location to Lincoln Memorial is around half hour, White House about half hour as well. Capitol Hill is about 20 minutes. Air and Space Museum is no more than 10mins to walk. 2. Place is clean and fancy. They have put so much effort into their interior design. It felt cozy and comfy. You can take really great pictures anywhere in the building and they would come out perfect. 3. Lots of fancy things you won't see in other hotels. Automatic blinds and lights, self-check in, cozy common lounge area.

Some things that we didn't like although it already came as expected: 1. Rooms were small but again it was expected. We have to fold our stroller to keep inside our room and take it out to unfold when we were ready to leave. We packed relatively light for a family with young kids so space was never a problem. Also, the space issue is easily solved by going downstairs to their lounge / common area. 2. Food options in the canteen was limited. Mostly it was appetizers and pizza. There's also no room service available which was okay for us. These things we didn't "like" are not a big deal but can be useful to manage expectations.

It was so modern and clean and I feel like the community vibes were cool.

You could hear all kinds of sounds through the walls.

The room was comfortable, especially the pillows.

My soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers were not full enough and very difficult to get enough out. Only one of the 3 or 4 front desk staffers I encountered was fully engaged. One spent all her time behind the wall where the living room area was. Although she could see the front desk, she did not make any effort to greet people entering the hotel. One of the reasons I chose this location over a much cheaper, but better whole apartment location, was for the security of having a front desk reception. My room was very clean but the carpet in the "living room" was full of stains.
