Salamander Washington DC Our stay at the Salamander was absolutely amazing! The hotel offers breathtaking views of the Jefferson Memorial, the Washington Monument, and is just a short walk to The Wharf. A special shoutout to Eskedar, the Front Office Manager, who went above and beyond to make our anniversary truly memorable. She made sure we had an excellent room with the best view in town—perfect for watching the fireworks right from our window. Eskedar also gave us fantastic dining recommendations, including Dogon and other great spots along The Wharf. The hotel itself was elegant and welcoming, and the brunch was delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting DC—especially for a special occasion!

I liked everything about this hotel.

We had a lovely stay and appreciated being able to bring our pup along. The bathroom with the plush robes and towels was the best part of our stay. The new room decor falls short in elegance and practicality; while comfortable, it lacks the “wow” factor of the old decor. We were also disappointed with the state of the courtyard. The outdoor landscaping was not nearly as beautiful as it was during our last visit this time of the year. The staff was courteous and helpful at every level of service but having visited a similar 4 star hotel in Seoul just a few days apart, the comparison leaves The Salamander lacking in excellence by far. Not criticizing the staff but the expectation of the brand in the level of service.

The staff was incredible. They were accommodating from the valet services to the front desk and in between. We received pleasant greetings and smiles from absolutely everyone. The facility was immaculate. The restaurant Lounge in the hotel was awesome! We loved this place so much, we’re hoping to return soon. They truly made us feel special.

Lovely hotel just a short walk from the Wharf and about 30 minutes walk from the Lincoln Memorial etc. Staff are very helpful and attentive. Rooms are comfortable and had a good view over the river.

No coffee making facilities in the rooms. Free coffee is available in the lobby although I would have expected in-room facilities for the price. No room safe which was also a surprise.

The staff was excellent. Very helpful as to places to go, places to eat. The doorman ,valets, porters all great. The room was great all around and cery clean. Great location as to why we picked to stay.

The price, though we expected that as to location. The prices for the resturant were expensive, though the food was good. Also parking was pricey. Would have appreciated a keurig in the room or coffee for guests in the lobby area.

We enjoyed our stay; our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. we did not eat breakfast, but we had ordered French fries from room service, which were delicious, although they were a bit pricey.

Valet was a bit pricey by they staff was very accommodating.

Overall nice facilities and friendly staff. Location is great with easy access to the Tidal Pond, Wharf, and Mall.

A bit far for Metro and Mall if leave through main entrance on less traveled streets. Room service meals are expensive, typical but still annoying since bar kitchen closes early.

Hands down one of the best properties we have stayed at. Everything about this place was comfort. It’s a little pricey but definitely worth every dollar.

Beautiful place but had to use the valet and concierge and breakfast was very expensive for buffet style.

The location, the size of our room, the comfortable bed were all terrific.

If we’d known that a breakfast buffet would be $40 a person, we would have gone to Starbucks across the street or Potbelly down the street. We had tickets to a museum early and thought it’d be a good idea to just have breakfast there. When we arrived there were no a la carte options so they have you hostage and the price of the buffet is not posted anywhere. While the buffer was very nice, it certain,y was not one that warranted that kind of price. That was a rip off
