The location to all DC’s landmarks are great! Step outside the hotel and look up the street to see the Capital Building large as life! We valeted our car with the Hyatt staff where it was kept safe and secure. When we didn’t walk, we used Uber. The staff out front are phenomenal and friendly. They keep things moving out there! The Front Desk staff are professional and helpful. And the dining staff are exceptional! Always making sure we got enough coffee and juice in the morning. We were on the 11th floor, and since this location is undergoing renovations, they moved the dining area to the 11th floor; just a walk around the corner of our room. Though I was hesitant to stay because of current renovations, this did not detour from our stay one bit. Front desk notified us of a 2 hour water shutoff for a couple hours; and said if it was an inconvenience we could move to another room. This was not an inconvenience as we were out and about enjoying the day. The renovations should be done by Fall, 2025. Nonetheless, stay this Hyatt and enjoy everything about DC at this location. If we ever come back to DC, this is where we will stay!
Honestly I can’t say anything I didn’t like. I gave the Hyatt a 9 but that was for the construction going on inside, however it didn’t detour or distract us from the great breakfast and wonderful room.

The rooms were brand new, very comfortable, pretty, and quiet. The ongoing construction didn't bother us. The pool was very pleasant, larger than we thought on the photos, and the gym was modern and well-equipped. All the staff were very friendly (reception, housekeeping). The location was also excellent; we walked everywhere with our children (train station, Capitol, museums, White House, etc.). We had a minor issue, but the entire team was very responsive and resolved the problem quickly and efficiently. We recommend this hotel!

Breakfast was pretty good, although I think ours was temporarily served in their rooftop restaurant while renovation is going on. The new swimming pool was a bit crowded (it's a bit small for the size of the hotel), so we decided not to use it. The little fitness room was good, but the ceiling was way too low - I won't be surprised if someone ultimately breaks it by a dumbbell.
The renovation didn't bother us much although it impacted the look of the hotel and we've heard some loud noise from time to time.

we used the main restaurant for evening dinner one evening. We had large steaks and they were cooked to our liking and were delicious. We used the hotel bar every evening and found the drinks prices were OK. The location of the hotel in respect to Capital Hill and Union Station could hardly be any better. Both were about a 10 to 15 minute walk away. As for a busy avenue full of bars and restaurants, again about a 15 minute walk. I've marked the view from our hotel window down because all it did was look across the street at office blocks, so no real view of any consequence. That said it wasn't a horrible view of some back street either.
nothing much

Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful Hotel. Nice bath toiletries and thick towels. Very comfortable beds and bedding. Excellent food and drink. Attentive staff. Quick and easy valet. Great location with views of Capitol. Hotel restaurant is amazing. Also local eateries available if you like to venture out. Pool at hotel. Smoke outside on premises. Front desk answers phone and makes sure all requests are fulfilled in a timely fashion. Excellent Hotel.
Restroom signs in lobby need to be more obvious. Front desk staff should remind guests of the amenities available for valet, breakfast, pool and outdoor smoking. These are all great details for this hotel and it would add to their amazing service .

Good location, near Amtrak, metro, and DC Circular bus stops. Pool. Helpful staff: our room was ready early, free luggage storage was provided from checkout time till train time, large sturdy loaner umbrellas were offered when needed. Some other reviews had mentioned having to deal with many homeless folks in the hotel area, but we didn't see any.
Not much. The lobby is one level down from the sidewalk, and the sole up-escalator was broken during our stay. The pool (which we used every day) ran out of towels once. Wish the room had a microwave.

The location, the ease of access from the station.
There is no 24 hour room service/restaurant within the hotel for food. There are 4 coffee pods, 2 glasses, 2 sets of different sugars and just 2 creamers - It didn’t balance out & no stirrer. blBreakfast was not included in the tarriff.

Meals were very good. The Prime Rib was excellent. Breakfast was excellent as well. Our room location weas fine. The staff was very helpful and professional.
My wifw was a light eater. Me, on the other hand, always has a healthy appeptite. We may have aten breakfast more often at the hotel had she been allowed to pay for a smaller order.

The location was wonderful, the service was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the beds were very comfortable and the room was clean.
I have stayed in much nicer rooms for less but I guess the location is what you pay for. I really didn't have any complaint except it was expensive. We paid as much for 2 days here as we would have paid for a whole week at other places we go such as the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee.

Can’t get any closer to the capital!!
It’s not their fault, but they are in a closed zone during times of inaugurations and other things of importance with the president. We couldn’t get picked up from a taxi or uber at hotel and had to walk. They had a golf cart shuttle but in 16 degree weather and everyone’s luggage it takes a long time to even get a ride.
