Really great place for the location as is a bargain. Not fancy, but perfect for us - Staff are brilliant and can’t do enough for you. Would stay again. I asked for a quiet room and got one at the back - which is excellent as my kids could sleep (but you will only get a view of a wall, so if you don’t kind traffic noise ask for one at the front)

It’s not that I didn’t like it but some people might wish there was breakfast - but there are so many good and super cheap options near by and you can choose your own timing. Right in the old quarter, Close to train street, just great for accessing everything. Kids loved it too.

Rooms were big and super clean (much cleaner than several 4-star hotels we had stayed in on our trip) and the beds were great. Best thing about this property though was Philips, who hands down was the best customer service person we came across in Vietnam. From the moment we booked the hotel, Philips went out of his way to help us in every way possible. This included, amongst other things, booking us on an overnight Ha Long Bay cruise, booking us a family room for an extra night at another great (sister) hotel in Hanoi on our return from Ha Long, personally bringing one of our suitcases (which we had left at his hotel) over from his hotel to our next one on our return to Hanoi, and even organising a complimentary taxi transfer to the airport for our departure from Hanoi. And his communication was perfect from beginning to end. Thank you so much Philips!!!

What I love most about Astoria Hotel is the cleanliness and the excellent customer service. The front desk staff is incredibly friendly, they helped me with a quick check-in and were always ready to assist with sightseeing recommendations. A big plus is the warmth and attentiveness of the staff. When I asked about rooftop cafés with a nice view, the receptionist immediately suggested two spots near the hotel and gave me clear directions on a map. That night, I went to try them out and ended up taking a ton of amazing "Instagram-worthy" photos. I was really pleased with this experience. Their thoughtful assistance truly made my stay at Astoria Hotel unforgettable.

I stayed at Astoria Hotel for three nights during a business trip to Hanoi. Its central location near St. Joseph’s Cathedral was perfect, but what stood out most was the amazing staff. I lost my wallet on the first night, and the night receptionist, Viet, calmly helped retrace my steps and even called the cafés I’d visited. One had found it, and Viet kindly offered to go with me to pick it up late at night. I was truly touched. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. No breakfast, but plenty of great local food nearby.

Everyone at the reception was very helpful, provided information about sightseeing, Old Quater, souvenir shop and anything else we asked about. The room was very clean and big, beds extremely comfortable. The location was a great advantage - everything was within a walking distance (great cafes and restaurants, bus and train station, famous sights). We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back one day. Many thanks to wonderful staff who made our experience so much better!

There’s one moment during my stay at Astoria Hotel that I’ll never forget. One morning, I had to leave early for a trip, but the taxi I had booked broke down unexpectedly. I quickly called the front desk, and to my surprise, they not only arranged a replacement taxi immediately but also helped carry my luggage and walked me to the car. Their fast, thoughtful, and enthusiastic service made all the difference what started as a stressful morning turned into a smooth and positive experience.

This property is located right in the centre of the Old Quarter next to all of the sights and popular restaurants, the night market is 5 minutes away! An amazing location. Philips was so helpful in arranging everything for us, we needed laundry last minute and it was washed, folded and returned to us within 6 hours! The hotel looks small on the outside but it is everything you need. The rooms are lovely and clean and we had a nice balcony to sit outside and watch the sunset
