The location is amazing, the staff are friendly, attentive and efficient. Good breakfast makes this hotel great value for money. Parts of the hotel are undergoing renovation at the moment, but inconvenience and noise was obviously being kept to the minimum.

The rooftop pool is quite a difficult walk away, in another hotel. It bears no relation to the pool image on the website, there's very little basic seating and tables. The hotel manager/owner raved about how luxurious it was and how impressed I was going to be by the changing facilities and insisted the pool was brand new. It was atrocious. The toilet that was supposedly a changing room wasn't big enough to even be a toilet. I don't think I could have lifted my arms above my head to undress. There was nothing in it but the usual toilet and handbasin with a handheld showerhead. Luckily I had changed before but quickly left when I realised there was no chlorine in the pool. So, if a pool, is important to you, this is not your place. Otherwise, great!

This hotel is located on a fairly quiet back street near the very busy area around St Joseph's cathedral, and that is probably its key selling point. ("Quiet" is a relative term in Hanoi.) The staff is courteous and efficient, the room clean and well maintained, the breakfast okay, the wifi worked. Like most hotels in the Old Quarter, it's tall and narrow, so the common areas around reception are a bit cramped, but the staff manages the limited space quite effectively. This is a solid, three-star hotel that offers good value for the price and a terrific location, close to the cathedral and an easy walk over to Hoan Kiem, the Old Quarter, and other attractions.

The one thing about the hotel that doesn't make any sense to me is the supposed discount on booking.com. The nightly rate, listed at around US$360, is struck through and right beside it is the discounted deal of around US$80. That is a pretty good rate for a hotel of this calibre, but there's no way the regular price of this hotel is $360 a night and they shouldn't give the false impression that this is a fancy boutique hotel offering a huge reduction. This is a decent three-star hotel offering a pretty good deal, period. (I should point out that other similar hotels in the area also show a similar suspiciously drastic discount.)

Would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good hotel to stay in the heart of Hanoi. Room is like 5 stars hotel for 3 stars price, unbeatable service for unbeatable price. Splendid Hotel will go the extra mile to accomodate and please you. I'm delighted of my stay, highly recommended. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Special mention to Ding who have been nothing less than perfect to us. As a couple in our early 60's we were happy with an amazing experience on the Ha Giang loop. Our round trip transportation from Hanoi and through Ha Giang to Sapa and Fanxipan was amazing in part because of Ding support. Ding also arrange Our trip to Ninh Binh ( his hometown ) was great, beautiful sights and fun activities. We loved the cycling especially. Overall, I enjoyed stay at the Splendid Hotel. Would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good hotel to stay in the heart of Hanoi.

Great place right in the middle of the old quarter - you will love the location as you can easily walk to most of attractions. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is super helpful and considerate - they kindly let me check in earlier and also refresh myself and change clothes after check out (got caught by a heavy rain). Breakfast is very nice as well - enough variety of food and drink, and they change part of the menu every day. Overall I think it’s great value for the price.

We received a warm welcome; the staff was consistently friendly and very accommodating. A welcome drink provided comprehensive information about breakfast, the Wi-Fi password, and much more. English is spoken troughout the whole personal. Our room was large, quiet, and comfortable; nothing was missing. The breakfast was plentiful, with eggs cooked to order, hot dishes, and fresh fruit. The hotel belongs to the "Splendid Group," which includes everything stated in the description. However, this may not apply to every building. For example, it's advisable to indicate if you need an elevator. Assistance is guaranteed in any case. We highly recommend this hotel in this central location.

Very helpful staff on arrival and throughout our stay, breakfast buffet had a wide variety of choice and a takeaway breakfast was provided prior to an early flight and a car to airport was organised efficiently. Bed was comfortable, two chairs would improve comfort of room however. Kettle was appreciated and wifi worked well. Shower was fine, lift to 8th floor was quick and always available. Room was clean and felt secure, large windows allowed in natural light. Although here only two nights prior to departure, we were able to explore many of the local sights by foot. The Lake and wonderful Water Puppet Theatre are close by as are many places to eat( huge variety.)

Location is at the Old Quarter of Hanoi which is excellent. Breakfast is very good with delicious local cuisine which is a real treat! The general manager, Mr. Harry, is very accommodating and reassuring. All the staff, both at the reception and breakfast room, are helpful and friendly except Mr. Brian who becomes grumpy when he is tired.

Mr. Brian, one of the receptionists, becomes grumpy and sarcastic with his remarks, when he becomes fed up with the guests. Mr. Harry should advise him and perhaps require him to undergo more training in dealing with customer service. I like Mr. Din Dong who manages the guests professionally despite under challenging situations and demands from them.

The staff were super friendly and helpful especially jacky and Brian. We arrived very early on the train and they managed to accommodate us and let us check in early. Lovely breakfast and good spa!

There was no swimming pool available on site. Although we were taken to a neighbouring hotel. It would have been nice to have the swimming pool fixed. The hotel can’t be blamed but the cathedral bells were rather loud and all through the night. Could do with a few finishing touches inside the hotel.

Perfect stay. When I arrived i was a little bit confused but finally I found the right hotel. This hotel belongs to a group. The well coming was splendid, drink was offered plus a wet towel which was highly appreciated. The next surprise was an upgrade for free. The room was pretty well equipped with safe , hot water kettle, free water and a good equipped mini bar. The beds were very comfy, a lot of pillows. The air condition was working fine but in February not needed. View on the church in my case. The bathroom was tidy and with good towels.

The breakfast could be better for my European taste. The jam or marmalade is just red and sweet. The coffee in my eyes not drinkable. Same for the juice. Salt was missing for the eggs. Fruit platter was excellent
