The staffs and manager are extremely helpful and friendly. The location is excellent. Easy access to foods and sightseeing places. Free room upgrade.

Room 503 bathroom has a constant unpleasant smell, it will be perfect if it can be improved. The other room we have stayed in the same hotel hasn't got this problem and is perfect.

This hotel is located near St. Joseph Cathedral, you can see it out your window. It is located on a quieter street. Lots of good restaurants and shops in the area.

The bed was like sleeping on a box spring

The location in Old Quarter west of Hoan Kiem Lake was very convenient for accessing many of the local restaurants and sights. Our room happened to be high up so we enjoyed views down the small Old Quarter street to see people going about their business. The view from the balcony wasn't the prettiest but you did feel like you were part of the neighborhood. The value of the stay was excellent regardless of the shortcomings.

The drawback to the convenient location in the center of Old Quarter was that the noise of the neighborhood echoes up the walls of the buildings in the alley to the balcony window. There seemed to be a constant buzz of honking that is Hanoi with short snatches of silence. The nearby St Joseph Cathedral bell would chime also though it wasn't as bad as expected. The sheets were stained dirty when we checked in but were replaced when asked. It would go a long way to guests feeling comfortable if the stained sheets were replaced with clean new ones.

Location was great! Convenient and very central to anywhere within old quarters. The cathedral as a landmark was excellent.

Staff was efficient and friendly but limited communication beyond the standard check in and out due to language barrier. Had to use Google translate to communicate but eventually all worked out.

The Galliot was an excellent hotel in the heart of Old Quarter making getting around an absolute breeze. The facilities were clean and tidy and staff were extremely helpful and attentive. Would absolutely stay here again when next in Hanoi.

Location was excellent, especially for the value. Bed was comfortable. Noise from the cathedral didn't bother us too much.

The facilities did feel used, however it did not bother us as we did opt for very budget option.

The staff are so friendly and helpful, even when they don’t speak English they make every effort to use a translator easily. They also stored our big luggage free of charge when we went on multi-day tours. The room is great value for money and we had guaranteed hot water everyday which did not run out. The rooms were clean and air conditioning was great. Room overlooked the Cathedral and rooms were definitely sound proof from street noise except for church bells. The hotel looks tiny when you walk in but it is definitely a great cheaper option. It appears to be like a family business and there is one man who does speak English quite easily. Would stay here again!

location is excellent for us who loves to explore the old quarter and shop around. The staff are very friendly and accommodating inspite of the language barrier. They clean our room daily and provide water. Our over-all stay was excellent. Thank you. We will come back again.

Great location. Bus from the airport dropped us off and it was a 5 minute walk (maybe 5-10 minute walk) from the bus stop. Lots to see near by. Staff were friendly and helpful. Comfy room, strong aircon, great place to stay.

Had upgraded us to a bigger and better room FOC - Thank you. Room is comfortable and clean. Staff help to arrange a limo to the airport. Location is excellent for shopping and eating.

Room on a 2nd floor. Can be a bit noisy at night. Bottom walls of the bathroom need a scrub down. A bit mouldy.
