Beautiful rooms and dedicated staff! I stayed at five different hotels during my trip to Vietnam and I can say without a doubt that Tam Coc Lion Kings Hotel was the best one I stayed in. First of all, the staff are SO kind and helpful and attentive. I’m sorry that I didn’t get their names but two different women at the front desk were so helpful to me. The first one was when I checked in and she so very kindly offered me early check-in so I could have breakfast (I arrived at around 8:30 AM from Hanoi) while she prepared my room and after breakfast, she was eager to help me plan tours in Ninh Binh without being pushy. She offered all the help she could, like if I wanted to rent bikes or motorcycles, what times I should visit this and that attraction, etc. Then the other receptionist when I got my bags the following night (they allowed to keep it after I checked out that afternoon), gave me another bottle of water and a wafer biscuit to take with me on my overnight train trip. She also carried my suitcase and was just very caring that I could get into my grab taxi properly. They didn’t have to go above and beyond but they did and I’m so grateful, it made me feel so welcome as a guest. Then of course, there’s the room. I booked the superior double/twin room with mountain view and it was such a beautiful room! The first thing I noticed was how pleasant it smelled, I loved it so much. The bed was big and comfy and had everything I needed in the room. There was also a huge window (and I mean HUGE, like it spanned an entire wall) and it let in so much natural light, which I so loved. My only complaint about the room was the water, when turned to hot, was scalding and the shampoo and shower gel didn’t smell good to me. They have free buffet breakfast with my booking. The fried rice was amazing and the fruits were fresh. Everything else was basic but truly filling.

The breakfast buffet was quite widespread with western options. The view from the room was amazing. The location was quite in the centre and easily accessible. The receptionists Anna and Nhung were exceptionally friendly. Anna contacted me beforehand and gave me instructions as we were checking in at midnight. Nhung was so kind to pack our breakfast as we were leaving before 7am. Exceeded my expectations. Super happy with the stay in this hotel with my family.

This was a wonderful stay. We arrived with the bus at 4am and omg, it was soo nice arriving. We could check in in the middle of the night. All facilities were perfect and staff was nice. Washing happend super fast and the pink scooter gave us a perfect experience. Breakfast was one of the better ones in Vietnam.

First we wanted the bungalows but they were unfortunately fully booked.

Everything was amazing, the price, the location, breakfast, the room, the bathroom. You can easily take frre bikes offered by the hotel and go on a quick journey to the center of the city where you ll find everything you need/want. Bathrooms are looking amazing!Breakfast was unique, never had such a good variwd and different brrakfast anywhere else! Cannot find any fault!

We did like everything! I highly recommwnd for anyone to stay here, it was perfect!

This is a lovely hotel (the lobby is amazing, so as the internal garden) with a big swimming pool. The rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished, with very comfortable beds, the breakfast was excellent. Upon arrival we were offered a free upgrade and were given a bungalow with a private balcony, a view to a garden and direct access to the swimming pool. We had an issue with a shower and it was immediately fixed once reported. The staff is extremely helpful and efficient. The hotel is located a bit outside the town, but it is close to some attractions. This was not a problem for us as we rented a scooter (arranged by the hotel).

The Lion King hotel stay was situated right at the beautiful location next to the hill and rice fields. The Bich Dong Pagoda attraction was very near the hotel. The property was well maintained. The room provided was pretty good and clean. The staff were excellent in service. Breakfast served was very good. Thanks to all the cleaning staff, they made our room clean daily without giving instructions during our stay. Special kudos to Mr. Lee and Mrs. Anna for their hospitality, effort, and patience in making our travel smooth in North Vietnam, i.e., pre-booking attractions for the Halong Bay cruise and arranging for airport transfers from Hanoi airport to hotel, from Hotel to Halong Bay cruise, and from cruise to Hanoi hotel. Special thanks to the cab driver/limousine bus drivers arranged by Mr. Lee/Mrs. Anna, who are very well coordinated, well prepared, and caring till they drop us at the destination. Overall, our stay at Ninh Binh is an amazing experience and is recommended as one of the best places to stay in Ninh Binh.

All were pretty good no complaints as such

The staff was amazing. They helped us with everything we wanted, they spoke good english and arranged everything we needed. The location is nice as it s remote from the village and there are still many places to eat around. The bungalows on the lake are amazing.

Our Bungalow( i think it was B03) in the back was close to probably the neighbor location toilet, that meant everytime we were passing there, because of the summer heat there was a big stink that was unpelasant.I know it doesn t really depand on the accomosdation but that was the only bad thing i can say about this place.

The location of the hotel was perfect we were able to walk to the pagoda and hire some bicycles to do a gorgeous cycle in the area, one of the highlights of Ninh Binh. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants nearby which was great. The staff at reception were super helpful and laundry here was incredibly cheap. The room was spacious and very comfortable.

The only downside was that our room was close to some roosters and they woke us up very early in the morning. We also found a cockroach in the bathroom but that cant be helped as we are surrounded by nature. Apart from these two things, everything else was great.

We enjoyed our stay overall. The room was comfortable and the staff changed our towels with new bottles of water every day. The lady at the reception Nhung was lovely and she did everything she could to make us happy. She was the highlight of our stay and the hotel wouldn't be as nice without her. The breakfast was good but it was the same every day. It's not a problem for us but it might be for you if you stay 5 days or more. It's about 10 minutes from the center of Tam Coc by motorbike or 15 minutes by bicycle. There's a nice restaurant not far with delicious tofu dishes. The WiFi was great.

When we arrived the floor hadn't been cleaned from the previous guest and we found women's hair on the floor. The bathroom door is hard to close and we had to bang it if we want to close it properly. The motorbike we rented was good enough for 2 days but we recommend the management to maintain it because it's quite old. Lastly, there were some light constructions in the room near us and above. It didn't last long so no problem but it could be good if the management notified the guests.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave us really good tips regarding the attractions in the region and explained the differences between the different boat trips around Tam Coc. The room was quite big and they have a cute garden. The vegetarian options in the breakfast are better than mentioned in the other reviews. They have a lot of fruits, vegetarian fried and fresh springrolls, pancakes, and an egg station.

The location is a bit off from the town center. It's especially unconfortable to walk the way to the hotel at night, since the path is partly not luminated but you can rent bicycles nearby. You can pay the room by card but they charge an additional 3% surcharge. The room is a bit aged, AC tend to work only from time to time and one of the light switches was missing leaving a hole in the wall.
