Phong Nha Farmstay is totally unique from anywhere we have stayed before. From the moment we arrived, we felt like part of the family. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always eager to help, making our stay feel personal and special. We were lucky to receive a villa upgrade, and it was absolutely beautiful—spacious, comfortable, the hotel offers stunning views of the peaceful countryside. The hotel itself is fascinating, with rich historical ties to the Vietnam War, adding an extra layer of depth to our experience. One of the most memorable aspects was the transportation—riding around in old war vehicles that the hotel provided for free to get us to and from our lovely villa, this added a truly immersive and adventurous touch to exploring the area. Whether it was touring the stunning Phong Nha area or simply relaxing at the Farmstay, every moment was amazing. The staff were 5* anything we needed they did, from getting all our washing done last minute to making us pack lunch for our departure train nothing was any trouble for them. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind experience with history, comfort, and genuine hospitality, Phong Nha Farmstay is the perfect place. We can’t wait to return! Amazing place in the Phong Nha area, quiet, surrounded by normal village life but with modern comfort. Kim villa is gorgeous, spacious, quiet, well equipped with a private swimming pool, independent rooms and bathrooms, large and comfortable beds. It is located a bit away from the main farmstay location but it's easily accessible by bicycles (provided for free) or by requesting a free car pickup. The main location is also amazing: comfortable seating, great views of the valley, just great and relaxing! All the staff is friendly and helpful, the drivers, the people at the reception and the staff located around the villa.

Due to the location, there aren't many taxis around, so to get to Phong Nha town, you need either to rent and drive your own scooter (difficult with children) or plan in advance, e.g. with the free daily shuttle.

Superb country getaway. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.... actually we have just finished one of the most extraordinary stays we have ever enjoyed at the Phong Nha Farmstay. The staff were accommodating, friendly and professional in a way that made us feel like part of the family. It was humbling to see the depth of their commitment to their staff, guests and community. We had a short time here and wanted to experience all we could in the time we had. Not only were they prepared, they were able to organise all the activities we desired and more. The scenery in the Phong Nha-Kebang world heritage park left us awestruck. It has to be seen to be believed. It interactions with staff at all levels- deom cleaners who kept the facility immaculate, to the restaurant staff, the hosts, the drivers and even the owners - Ben and Bec - all were friendly and happy to chat. Their local knowledge and experience in the area coupled with their commitment made for a wonderful experience for us. We felt like family and enjoyed many unique experiences that we could do nowhere else.

We had three hugely enjoyable days staying at this blissful place.  Water buffalo graze in the paddy fields that surround the property, but - aside from the occasional cock crowing - there's nothing farmlike about the lovely sophisticated accommodation.  We stayed in a beautiful family villa with huge rooms and its own private pool. A particular shout out to Long for lots of helpful suggestions for making the most of our stay.  We borrowed bikes to cycle around the paddy fields, rode on the back of motorbikes to the Dark Cave and Paradise Cave, and took the Farmstay's free shuttle to the boat dock for sailing into the Phong Nha Cave.  We were so glad we booked to stay at the Farmstay rather than busy Phong Nha town, and it was great to be able to relax in the pool and the open air restaurant after energetic days exploring the enormous cave systems. Such a beautiful friendly place.

Fresh juice provided upon arrival. Amazing attentive staff who are super proud of their area and place of work. Surrounded by farmland with daily buffalo visits during our stay. Dining menu options are varied with some Aussie selections such as Bundy ginger beer and meat pies (for those of us who are a little homesick) The pool is a welcome respite from the heat. Free bicycles to use and reception has many ideas for day tours which they will happily assist you with. Daily early morning walkthrough the local village to learn about the history of the area was very interesting. A WhatsApp group that you can join in; to keep you informed of the daily goings on. The bar fridge was by far the coldest in our 3 weeks travel around Vietnam! The air conditioning and large ceiling fan excellent as well.

Wow! We loved the farmstay -- it's in a beautiful location and it felt like such a luxury to even just sit out by the pool looking out across the fields at the mountains in the distance. The best sunsets we had in Vietnam by a mile. We also LOVED the gym. It's basic but has everything you need for a really excellent workout and with great views to boot! This hotel has a sister hotel in town, so you can take a bicycle from one and ride it and leave it at the other or vice versa -- it worked super well for us because we wanted to ride bikes to town in the cooler morning but then take a Grab home when it got hot in the afternoon. The owner is a character and has incredible travel stories from all over the world. All of the staff was friendly, funny, and attentive without being overbearing.

This place really combines the best of two worlds (Vietnamese/Asian and Australian/Western). It is comfortable and the Vietnamese pancakes (summer rolls are really the best we’ve had) in whole Vietnam. We stayed in the family room which is just as shown on the pictures. The beds were comfortable and spacious, the rooms were spotless. We did a daytour (elephant cave) with our kids (9-11-13y) which had exact the right amount of adventure for our family

We knew beforehand that the resort is a bit remote and therefore a bit more expensive than possible other accommodations, so this was not an actual problem, but is good to realize before booking

I was most happy with my stay at Phong Nha Farmstay. The National Park offers a lot of attractions and it was a bit overwhelming to make a good plan for a visit. The Phong Nha Farmstay has suggestions for 1, 2 or 3-day stays and takes care individually about everyone. I followed a 2-day plan and it was amazing, especially the Easy Rider loop around the park (on a backseat of a motorbike). The place itself is a lovely farm in colonial style with beautiful views and nature sounds. The staff is very friendly and kind - you feel like around good, relaxed family. The stay gave me unforgettable memories and I can honestly recommend it to everyone!

Nothing to complain about

This is one of the most genuine recommendations I have made. Don't hesitate to book a stay at Phong Nha Farmstay, it really is a gem of a place with comfortable fascilities, a fantastic vibe and great staff. Just the perfect base to both kick off after busy days of travelling and to explore Phong Nha. It might cost a bit more than other places in the region, but it's worth every VND. I ended up staying 3 nights and spent one of those days solely at the farmstay, just enjoying the pool + restaurant and a recommended 5km cycle tour in the valley. The last day I booked one of their easyriders for a tour to Paradise cave and the botanical garden. Can highly recommend! Also, make sure to join the morning walk in the village - it was such a good introduction to the area. My room was even nicer than the pictures (even though I apparently had the smallest room, not the suite as first booked). There are different themes available for dinner every night in addition to the excellent a la carte.
