Hyatt Hotel Canberra is about to celebrate its opening centennial anniversary in 2024. You can feel the sophistication and romanticism of past times while enjoying the contemporary comforts of a perfectly managed hotel accommodation. Staff were exceptional in attending to and accommodating our requirements. Comfy rooms although the beds were a tad too soft for our taste. Easy parking, great location too. We stayed for Christmas and we couldn't be happier.

A classic luxury hotel, with beautiful gardens and all the facilities you'd expect in the rooms and around the hotel. The customer service is exceptional, and there's a lovely lobby lounge area leading to garden seating areas, where you can have coffee, formal afternoon tea, dinner or enjoy drinks. We ended up having several meals in the hotel, including room service, because lounge area was so confortable, and the food and service was so good.
The bathrooms are big and very luxurious, but just slightly dated. The secure parking at $30/day seemed pricey, but we chose to use it and were glad that we did, despite the pretty tight turn at the entrance.

We had a good sized room and a very nice bathroom. The shower was probably one of the best we'd experienced, and the toiletries were excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful and our food in the Tea Lounge was very good. We overall had a pleasant stay.
We marked the hotel down for a few things that didn't go well. The bed was very soft for us, and both had aches and pains the next day. The tea cups were so tiny in the room, 2 sips and you were done. Driving up to the entrance to check in was a little chaotic. In the Tea Lounge at dinner, we had a few things go wrong with the service, which was disappointing.

The rooms are lovely, the location is great. Parking is good. The front rooms are easy to access for persons with mobility issues. The hotel is pet free with rooms that have opening windows and the cleanliness is generally very good.
My coworkers and I regularly stay at this hotel and I generally make the bookings. I don't always allocate the rooms to names. Unfortunately the person on reception cancelled the booking in front of my guests (they had just arrived) because their names were not on the booking. This meant that my boss got a room that was not as clean or nice as expected. Really awkward and stressful.

The location was outstanding. We could walk or drive in minutes to all the places we’d come to see - galleries, library, Parliament House, gardens, the lake. It was very quiet, historic and elegant. We ate in both restaurants in the evening and had wonderful buffet breakfasts. All the staff we encountered were professional and lovely.
The only thing I struggled with a little was the access to our room on the first level - no lift, had to use stairs. When we stay in future I would request a room on the second level. ( we still loved our room with its view onto gardens).

Room and bathroom were a good size, and the bed was very comfortable. The room service orders were prompt and the food quality was very good. The range of food was excellent for breakfast with a good choice of healthy options. The staff were always very helpful and courteous throughout the hotel.
The two room set up for breakfast is not very convenient for solo diners who have to constantly get up from the table with no one to look after your belongings. The additional benefit of the use of the Ambassadors Lounge for premium room bookings was very much missed, as this added an exclusive feel to previous stays at the hotel.

I object to the breakfast arrangements as I understood them. Everything else was great. Loved the cafe in the courtyard.
The breakfast was the main disappointing aspect of my experience. I didn't ask staff so am not sure if what my companion told us is correct, but she told us that you can only do the $40 breakfast no matter how much you eat. I like to eat tea & toast but was unwilling to pay $40 for such modest fare. So we went out to a cafe in Bradden each morning for breakfast, which was quite inconvenient. I would have liked to eat my modest breakfast in my room & would have been happy to pay $10 or $15 for the toast alone. I understood this was not an option but if this is the case, I found it so uncomfortable that I wouldn't stay here again in future. It is really giving money grubbing priority over a good customer experience.

Came to Canberra for Floriade 2024. I was surprised when the receptionist told me my room was ready as I arrived a bit early at 11 am. Love my 3 nights stays at Hyatt- A grand old hotel with art deco interior design. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was super comfy. Amazing housekeeping team did a great job. Scrumptious breakfast buffet with nice coffee, not from the diy machine was a big tick. Overall, the atmosphere of the hotel, the attentive staff, and the quality of service, the gym facility, was 10 out of 10.
Carpets along the hallways might need a bit of a cleaning job.

Everything! It felt like home while still delivering the full five star experience. The staff were all so nice and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and all the little things and attention to detail made the whole experience one we thoroughly enjoyed. We will be back.
The only thing was that the quilt on the bed was too small for the size of the bed. If we hadn’t brought our own king size quilt with us we would have had trouble getting both of us covered. That being said the mattress was very comfortable as were the sheets and if I had asked for another quilt I am sure it would not have been a problem getting one .

Spacious room with very comfortable bed. Excellent bathroom with walk in shower. The room was quiet and the aircon/heating was easily managed and effective. We had dinner in the main restaurant - excellent choice of good quality food and wine. The location was ideal for tourists - easy to arrange an uber into the town centre, or a short walk from the National Portrait Gallery and area.
It was quite confusing to work out the location of our room, although once we'd done it a couple of times, it was fine. A floor map with room numbers on it would have been helpful.
