We were staying with 2 young kids and the location was great!!! Even though the discovery park had its own pool, mini golf and playground; the estuary, break wall and pop denison park were all exceptionally close by! We had plans to go out a but more but we were more than happy to explore around the discovery park! Beds were comfy, cabin was clean, good air con and we had all the amenties we needed. Very quiet at night also. We have stayed at other holiday parks in the area but this has been the best for our family.

Hot water was a bit hit and miss but thats our fault as we didnt report it. Probably didnt matter as it was so hot while we were there.

Great for kids! Couldnt fauould use some maintenance)lt the amenities. Pool and splash park were amazing, as well as jjumpy pillow and playground and miniput (although miniput could use some maintenance). Lots of BBQs, close walk to another playground, beach, etc. Great local seafood.

would have preferred not have two sets of bunk beds in the second room but rather a double bed plus 1 set of bunks but we made it work. Airconditioning was in the living room and just didn't efficiently reach the bedrooms. We were very hot at night sleeping (early December).

The Cabin had a Queen size bed, dining table and chairs, kitchenette with fridge and microwave, some clothes storage in the main living area. There was an ensuite and a bedroom with lower and upper bunk beds (adult size). An undercover trestle table is outside the cabin. The car is parked beside the cabin outdoors. (Not undercover). The caravan park is located beside a large lake which is tidal. It would be safe to swim in. There is also a pool, games room and camp kitchen. The Queen sided bed was So Soft (pillow top).

To purchase take away food or groceries you need to travel a fair way for these. (10 to 15 minutes by car)

The cabin was clean well equipped and relatively private in the midst of caravans and other cabins - the pillows were fantastic and bed comfy. Love the ice tray in the freezer. Location was beautiful a medium length fully paved walk to the beach and break wall but set right on the banks of Shaws Bay - beautiful location. I travelled alone but the park clearly offered a lot of family entertainment - mkni golf and movies with daily text advice about events - great for families.

Didn't feel welcomed by check-in staff - a bit sombre and disinterested but maybe just having a bad day. :)

Quiet location away from main roads. Comfy bed. Clean and tidy. Cabin had what I needed and everything was in good working order. Good shower. Appreciated the manager/owner('s?) flexibility in tending to my request to extend my stay after the office closed for the day at 5:00pm.

Ignored by staff member at reception upon arrival who kept working on her computer ... I was left waiting until another woman entered the area and checked me in and she was lovely. Blind over sink allows light to enter the cabin at night through the sides.

Stayed a few nights on my way down south - lovely, fun & well-appointed & presented Park - has everything you would need & close to the river - lovely sunset!! The cabin was cute & comfortable enough & the well-appointed hand cleanser, shampoo, condition & shower wash was a great help...........enough linen & blanket available too!! Small but great for a few nights. Highly recommend.

The facilities for the kids were great, activities each day, jumping pillow, playground, splash park and pool! It felt safe, everyone was friendly and we got upgraded from the economy room which was a real bonus. The cabin next to the jumping pillow was great as it allowed my kids 6 and 4 a little freedom to go off on their own and we could still watch them from our accommodation.

The Discovery Parks Ballina offered an all-in one amenities and the cabin had everything that we needed for our stay! The Water Feature is an excellent addition to the swimming pool. Our kids truly enjoyed our time here! Great for a mini-holiday!

Although, the water feature did provide plenty of entertainment. It can get crowded at peak times as the Jumping Pillow was out of order. Also, it would be good to have some shade on the main playground near the Jumping Pillow.

Cabins were modern and clean with all the accessories you could need for a lengthy stay. Easy access to site and great position with nice views of water. Lots of friendly people about. It's one of the best places i have ever stayed. I definitely recommend.

Not much we didn't like. The mornings were a little noisy in the park with road work and garbage trucks, so no real sleep in, but that's beyond the parks control.

We were pleasantly surprised at how good this cabin was. It was much better than the photos looked. We had originally booked for 2 but when an extra person asked to come with us we knew that they would fit because the room had bunks. The kitchen was well equipped with everything that you need for a short stay and basic meals. The aircon was new and quiet which allowed us to all get a good nights sleep.We liked that you could walk to the beach and to the park.

Parking in our alloted spot was tight but manageable. We had to let people out before pulling right in otherwise they were trapped.
