Beautiful large house looking out over the Bellinger River with multiple wraparound decks surrounded by tropical plants. Really friendly, helpful staff, and a cosy kitchen and living room area with all the equipment you need to cook. Comfortable, clean rooms. The guesthouse is also five mins walk from everything in town which means you don’t have to drive anywhere. We also took advantage of the infrared sauna which was incredibly relaxing.

Does get a bit cold in winter in the shared areas, and noise travels around the building quite a bit. But as there’s only ever 9 or so occupied rooms, the noise is never too bad.

A beautiful buiding in a great location in the centre of town, yet quiet and with views towards the river. The beds in our family room were comfortable (though the room was quite small) and it had blockout curtains, and the shared bathrooms were very clean. The kitchen was well equipped and there were beautiful areas to sit on the verandahs, surrounded by greenery and views.

A powerpoint for the top bunk would be a helpful addition. The family in the room next door were quite noisy by 7am (including playing in the hanging chair on the verandah right outside our room) - perhaps people with kids need a friendly reminder at check in that it is a shared space!

Very pleasant communal atmosphere, spacious balcony/deck to relax and chat with others, very engaging and welcoming hosts. And Bellingen is a fabulous place to visit, Belfry is perfectly located for the town, very central but tucked away so very quiet.

Bit noisy being in room next to toilets, my own balcony actually meant my bedroom door opened on to the communal balcony which meant i had no privacy and i wasnt expecting when i booked, bedding - especially pillows- a little long in tooth, quite smelly

Plenty of character. Beautiful views. (I strongly recommend choosing a room on the garden side. Ugly views on the street side.) Bedroom balcony to take advantage of the view. Quiet location. A short walk to everything in town. Well equipped kitchen. Games & books available. Hostel-like vibe, with good social aspect.

No freezer. No wardrobe or space to put luggage if all beds are in use. (Only hanging space on back of door.) We were a couple in a family room, so were able to put our luggage on the spare beds, but if we were a family of 4 it would have been difficult to move around the room as the floor space would have been taken up with our luggage.

Don't mistake it for the white cute house on corner to the right as you heading toward dorrigo . Look at the map as it is not well signed and its a back alley lane. Don't forget you are sharing a bathroom and shower with all the other guests and you may be kept awake by flushing toilet and people showering in the middle of the night as the walls are thin. I thought the price per night was a bit much with just a bed and 2 bunks.

Very relaxed, felt like a comfortable homestay. Loved the laid back vibe and the view from the balcony was wonderful. Made to feel very welcome and as a solo traveller I was safe . Just accross the road is a great yoga studio , bought a weeks pass and went each evening before I headed out .

Wasn't told about the gate being locked when I went out on the first evening , so didn't know about the access code. Manager was extremely apologetic to be fair.

I ended up having last minute changes to plans and could not stay at belfry. Because i had booked thru this platform i had agreed to the terms and payment had been processed. When i made contact with the owner he was very understanding. Although he could not process refund he has agreed to discount me on another stay in the future which is very kind. He did not have to do this but i believe his gesture to be generous and kind. I look forward to staying here in the future and hope it will be as good as it looks.

That booking.com took monies and did not allow owner to change booking, even though he likely would've. But i understand that were the terms i had agreed to by booking through this site. I am positive that the owner did all in his power to help me.

Location was superb right behind the river so we could walk down for a swim to cool off which was nice and views off the balcony of the mountains was spectacular morning and sunset.

Room was a bit hot and small during the day and there were 4 of us with luggage also which made it crampy. Nighttime the temps improved so we could sleep with fam on which was ok.

Excellent location and comfortable room. A warm welcome when we arrived. Lovely sitting spaces outside.

The kitchen layout made it difficult for communal use but fortunately it wasn’t busy. This used to be a hostel but now describes itself as a guest house. You don’t normally have to strip your own bed in a guest house!! Or find foreign objects in your bed 😬

We loved the quaint and quirky guesthouse. The gardens were beautifully well kept and we loved the many beautiful spots to sit and admire the gardeners hard work. We would have loved more time to explore the library, yoga room and surrounds. It’s definitely a place we’d visit again. So easy too, with its location to eateries etc We would certainly recommend it to others.

Unfortunately our stay wasn’t long enough to have any complaints. It suited our needs perfectly.
