Lovely peaceful & comfortable accommodation with everything we needed. Beautiful views of mountains & distant ocean from rear verandah. Close to the charming town of Dorrigo with its interesting shops & a Deli selling interesting local produce... & the purpose of our visit the stunningly beautiful Dorrigo Mountain Rainforest . The very interesting Dorrigo Rainforest Centre with all the information, National Park staff on hand to quizz. great range of books, beautiful artwork & unusual treasures to buy. Beautiful walks, short & long plus an excellent cafe/restaurant serving delicious foods. A lovely stay.

Beautiful location and comfortable rooms. Very short drive into Dorrigo for restaurants if onsite restaurant is closed (staff provided some good recommendations re where to eat in town). Staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again in the future.

We had some noise from the people staying next door, but to be expected given the layout of the rooms and the shared patio area out the front. Not a deal breaker for us at all and we’d happily stay again - however worth noting if you are an early to bed individual who doesn’t like noise after you’ve gone to bed.

This was a practical choice for us, it was in the right place and the price was good. What we didn't expect was for it to be so lovely! The staff were friendly, the room comfortable and very clean, with everything we could need for the night and the views..are breathtaking. If you're looking for a good place to go for dinner, the Heritage Hotel Dorrigo served good food in a relaxing atmosphere.

Around thirty years after my first visit here, the Lookout has even more appeal now, with its beautiful mature gardens and distant views over the mountains. Nice to dine in the onsite restaurant with its big open fire after a days driving, but it’s only open Friday and Saturday nights at present. Just a few minutes drive from the Dorrigo Skywalk and Rainforest Centre and a few more into Dorrigo Pub if you need it. A great place to stay and enjoy the area and it’s on the road to the Griffiths Lookout, which has knockout views right across the Great Dividing Range toward the coast! Highly recommended..👌

Nothing, it’s brilliant!

Dorrigo is so beautiful - don’t miss swimming at Dangar falls which are only a 7min drive. Wish we had more time, we only stayed one night. We had a comfortable, clean room and could stay with our dog which is why we chose it. The couple that run the retreat are super friendly and welcoming. Deer feeding at 5pm was cute, we even saw a baby deer only 5 days old! Mountain view sitting on the table and chairs at your back door is lovely. Great star gazing spot. Big open field to play sports and give the dog a good run around.

The restaurant was closed, we didn’t get to try dine in (take note of opening hours) so we had to text to order our dinner choices before 3pm for that evening and have them delivered to the room - at least there was the option to do that. Meals were very tasty but a bit expensive for the portion size. A spa/sauna or even a pool at the retreat would make it just perfect. The older style of the rooms didn’t bother us, but minor renovations would be nice to give it more of a retreat feel.

We enjoyed our stay here very much, early check-in was possible & the room was comfortable and very clean. The location is remote & close to nature, which we liked. At night it was super quiet & the morning with the nice view of the surrounding mountains was calming. To have dinner directly in the hotel in the pop-up restaurant was also really great & convenient. The food was awesome! The way to Dorrigo National Park was only about 5 minutes, which makes the location of the accommodation convenient if you like to do some hikes in the National Park. We recommend staying here!

Amazing mountain views! We loved waking up to this each morning and the best part is we went to Griffiths lookout which is about a 6min drive away from the hotel and were given the most stunning night sky! The milky way was the clearest I had ever seen, it was the best way to end our stay. Everyone in town is super friendly and they have a great Chinese restaurant in the local RSL.

My only complaint is either the walls are thin, or we just had very loud guests next door to us, they were in their room, but it sounded like they were right outside of our window. My partner had to get up and ask them to keep the noise down around 11:30PM as it has been ongoing for some time, our next night there were new guests next to us who were playing instruments late into the night which we could hear. This will not deter us from coming back but we will be bringing ear plugs for our next stay.
