The host was very responsive when we needed him. There is an amazing supply of toiletry items as well as cleaning products and laundry detergent. It's refreshing to see that it was not just the microscopic bar of soap and 1 dishwashing tablet. There was a large amount of all of it. The beds in the 2 bedrooms were very comfortable. One of the bedrooms does not have a window but we were there only to sleep so it didn't really matter. There is a little desk setup which was great seeing that I had to do some work. All in all we enjoyed stating there

The sofa bed is not suitable for tall people and not really ideal for a person to sleep in as it not flat. One side of the bed is raised compared to the other side. It splits right down the middle. The apartment is ideal for 4 people, not 5.

My sister, step-mother & myself were visiting family in Goonellabah & then Byron Bay with a 1 night stay at the Hibiscus Motel. Would love to have to have been able to stay longer. Location was excellent, a walk to the beach for a morning swim, walkable to various venues. Excellent shower, strong & hot. Beds comfortable. Thankfully, the access street had been opened the afternoon we arrived so that made access easy. The curtains were blockout, great!

The step into the room was high, so awkward to step up & down especially for an older person/ less able. Need fan in both bedrooms to encourage airflow especially if the windows need to be closed due to noise outside from the street. I presume there is a good reason not to have ceiling fans. Shower stall quite small but manageable. If the weather had been inclement it would have been unpleasant to go to the reception in the Waves building to get the key. Just to improve the look, need minor housekeeping items fixed ie re-hook the curtains, scrub the bathroom floor properly so the ring of grime isn’t evident beneath the vanity & around the edges of shower, toilet, walls. The vanity basin does not empty very well. The drain / U-bend needs to cleaned out properly.

The Location was fabulous! The Staff, happy, super efficient and very friendly :) The room was a little dated but so is my house back home 😂 The room had all we needed to encourage us to be super cosy when we were there and get out and explore during the day. So close to the most Amazing Seafood Shop 🤤 🤗

I reckon they should have a local artist paint some large surfers with their boards under their arms or balanced on their heads, on the blank white spaces of the tall wall in the carpark 🏄‍♂️ This would make sitting outside the room more pleasant👌

The motel is in the centre of town with parking right outside your room. AC in room is excellent and super cold. Staff were super friendly and kind. Our room was basic, but clean and serviced everyday of our stay. Miniature toiletries were provided. Smart TV in room. Ample kitchen space with fridge and toaster if you wanted to prepare a small meal/snack in the room. The staff let us leave our luggage at the lobby next door before checking in and after checking out.

The 3 person room was a little small for 3 adults. Probably more suited to 2 adults and a child. Ironing board was useless/old.

The motel was walking distance to everything! Mainly went there for the dueling pianos at the Northern, this was the perfect location!!! They upgraded us to a double room which was very handy and very much appreciated. When we checked in on Saturday the lady was lovely and welcoming.

Only issue was the shower head was broken, I let them know and they were apologetic and will get it fixed asap.

Very short walk to the beach, restaurants, pubs etc. Wonderful location. I really like how this Motel is all lowset and you don’t have to deal with stairs. And you park right in front of your room. It is 100m walk from the street that the restaurants have tables on the road and the street is cut off, but these restaurants have no toilets for customers, so you have to go to the beach toilet, but not if you stay at the Hibiscus. You just nick home to go to the loo if you need to! Awesome! The Hibiscus is not a flash hotel, but it is everything you need when holidaying. It was perfect for me and my friend, we stayed 2 nights and wished we had longer time at Byron and this nice little Motel.

There was nothing I didn’t like about the Hibiscus. We had the Family Suite which is room 7 and it is right at the end, backing onto the one way street/lane behind. My only thing, and it isn’t a big deal, was the parking for room 7 has bins on one side and people walking through the gate on the other. I was a little bit worried about my car being in the way or getting scratched, but neither happened so it was all good.

Basic well maintained and clean room in a fantastic location. We were only looking for an overnight stay on a leg of a longer journey.Parking is in front of the room. We were able to walk to the beach, pub, shops and restaurants

For the price and location there is nothing to complain about, served its purpose

Location is perfect and really made the stay easy and awesome. Very clean. Staff excellent. We would return and recommend staying here for convenience.

One bedroom door is difficult to close. Parking is tight for ute. Lounge is beyond wall, blocking bedroom entry a bit, just doesn't look proper.

The property had everything I needed for a short stay and the bed was very comfortable.

Since it’s a motel, I would have preferred a bit more security as the door was only a push lock. It would be great if a bolt lock was installed to make tenants feel more secure, especially when solo travelling. Also, the reception wasn’t the greatest.

Room was clean, bathroom was clean, linen and towels were clean. Property was close to everything we needed. Check in process was easy. Aircon was super cold. Beach was just around the corner.

Couldn't get dining room light or fan working and aircon was tricky to get working again after accidentally being turned off at the wall. Was very overpriced, but then all of Byron is very overpriced...
