Iv stayed in a lot of so called 5star hotels around the world and to be honest they could learn a lot from the Hotel Marvell. Needed an early check in due to a last minute online business meeting . I called the hotel . The staff were so accommodating. Throughout the stay all the staff were so friendly and Helpful.welcome drink dropped to room after arrival . Room was cleaned daily(twice) food was fresh and delicious. Asked for a late check out again no problem. There was no rushing me out the door to get the next customer in. All in all if I could give a 6 star rating I would.

Very nice boutique hotel in the backstreets of Byron, very classy and well done aesthetically with an excellent team of staff (Especially Charlotte). Great breakfast in the restaurant downstairs till 11am, is also a good and convenient choice for evening meals or great cocktails! The upstairs pool area is perfect on a warm summer afternoon, especially as it's for guests only, different to other hotels like this and appreciated as we could get a sun bed each time we went there.

Only a couple of things, that some double-insulated glass would have probably fixed when building it. We had poor sleep from being woken up each night there: Drunken fights each night on the back street our room fronted, low bass doof doof music coming from somewhere nearby and the glass bottle bin getting picked up by a truck at 6 or 7 am of a Saturday morning outside our room.. No issue if you're a morning person I guess. We also had the AC in the room turn itself off each night, waking us up in a hot room two nights in a row, so between that and the other occasional noise issues we didn't get the best rest there.

Staff great, room great, bathroom and bathroom products great….overall enjoyed our stay.

The breakfast was a bit disappointing….we think the staff did their best….but we clearly got to the restaurant on Sunday morning at a very busy time and they seemed to be struggling. Our food order took a long time to come out….I ordered the pancakes and they were pretty good - however my girlfriend’s Marvell Breakfast was pretty average….it was well presented and it looked pretty good but the poached eggs were really overcooked as was the sausage….best thing on the plate was the sourdough, it just wasn’t up to scratch with the rest of the stay.

The hotel is well designed with modern features like dimmable lights, block out blinds and includes comfortable bedding, robes and plush towels. The check in and parking were easy and a member of staff showed us up to our room to ensure we knew how to use the swipe entry and touch lighting and blinds. The room had a balcony which was surrounded by lush garden so it felt very private. The rooftop pool and bar would be great to enjoy in the sunshine, it was busy at the bar even in the rain! Breakfast was included in our stay and it was great. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. Lots of choice with the option to add two sides at no extra cost. Would highly recommend the stay and will be back!

This hotel & its staff are AMAZING. I honestly don’t think we’ve stayed it such a gorgeous hotel for such a long time. All the small details & in room amenities are 5* luxury. Incredibly comfy beds, gorgeous linen & lonely large fluffy bath towels. We were there during cyclone Alfred & the team were incredible, they looked after us and consistently went above and beyond despite the challenging situation. A special thanks to James, Morgan & Gio who stayed on site and looked after all the guests providing 5* service and food. Can’t wait to visit again when the sun is out!

Breakfast was excellent. A real bonus. Have to mention two staff in particular who really made our stay great. Yash at breakfast was absolutely fantastic. Such personality and really great service. Sienna at reception was just so helpful. Gave us great restaurant advice and we had super meals based on her suggestions. They are a real credit to your hotel. Cocktail in room on arrival was a lovely touch.

The room was a little noisy from neighbouring facilities in the early evenings but it quietened down from about 10pm.

Beautiful designed hotel with luxurious linen and products in the room. Lovely rooftop and downstairs area. The food at breakfast was delicious.

Two of the three mornings the breakfast service was extremely slow. Staff said they were very busy and but they couldn't do anything about it. We weren't advised of the delay prior to sitting down. Staff apologised but there didn't seem any effort to fix it. One morning was manageable, the second morning frustrating. On check out I mentioned the slow breakfast service but no apology was forthcoming. Very unusual for a 5 star hotel.

We loved everything about hotel Marvell! -Room was very clean -Hotel staff are helpful and friendly -location is great -Breakfast included in the booking was excellent (Good coffee to!) -Bed was comfortable We left knowing that this will be our go to whenever we are back In town.

No biggy but no toothpaste in the room so bring your own and couldn’t find any towels near the roof top pool area after an early morning dip.

Location was fantastic, rooms are spacious and top quality, comfortable, great energy in the hotel, even the corridors smelled amazing. Breakfast options were fantastic and delicious. I stayed during Cyclone Alfred but felt so well taken care of by the staff and the general manager, who went above and beyond to assure the guests safety and comfort. If I come back to Byron Bay, I will be booking in here again.

No negatives

What an absolutely incredible hotel. The facilities and room were amazing, such a comfortable bed and the a la carte breakfast was to die for. The hotel was also in the centre of Byron Bay so very easy to walk everywhere. The only feedback I would say is that early morning, there was a bit of noise in the corridors from doors slamming but also on the road with what seemed like garbage trucks (which I know can’t be controlled).
