The lady running the motel (unfortunately I cannot remember her name) was absolutely lovely. Helpful, kind and willing to get us extra supplies (eg Ice) and give information about the town. Being high on the hill with a view (albeit small) out to the river gave it an experience that’s not what you usually get at motels. The pool and hot tub, and pool towels! Whilst we didn’t use these, we didn’t expect them at a motel either. Short and easy drive to Yamba which is where we wanted to stay but there wasn’t anything available at the last minute.

Would have been nice to be able to walk to restaurants, pub, etc…

This motel is small, cosy and comfortable. Easy to locate, and not far off the main road. Short driving / walking distance to most necessary nearby amenities - shop, post office, takeaways. The rooms have absolutely everything you need, and have a nice modern feel to them. The entire property is superbly clean. In addition, the location is quiet, enabling us to get a fantastic, comfortable sleep on a long road trip. Check in was easy, all done contactless. We were happy with the price we paid for what we received, making it good value for money. Parking directly outside the room was super handy. We particularly enjoyed the excellent swimming pool and hot tub on the property!

Very comfortable for our overnight stay whilst travelling to the Gold Coast. We were made to feel welcome on arrival and checkin/ checkout was simple. Our room was clean with a very comfortable bed and was great value for money. They provide tea and coffee making facilities along with mini fridge , cups, plates and cuttlery.It is on the edge of town but it was no problem to drive in for dinner ....Im sure you could walk if you really wanted too. Motel Maclean is a small motel that just simply has a nice easy vibe about it. The pool area is great and also has a hot tub.I loved the table and chairs that are set up outside around the place, giving you plenty of options to sit and relax.We would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are small and basic but the bed is very comfy the bathroom spotless theres air con a fridge crockery cutlery and a microwave a comfy armchair table and chairs plus a choice of outdoor seating overlooking the Clarence River. . The staff very helpful and pleasant. The location great for exploring Grafton, Yamba and Iluka area and just a short drive in off the highway if youre overnighting. Shops cafes and pubs nearby.

The parking is a bit tricky in limited space but is free and generally available.

Our room was very clean and well presented. The beds were comfortable and clean, the bathroom had beautiful soap, shampoo and conditioner, the pool and hot tub was so nice with beautiful gardens around. Great parking set up too. Staff were lovely and so helpful.

No real complaints but one suggestion: we stayed in Room 10 (right next to the pool) and with other families there lots of people were going in and out and the gate was very noisy which can’t be helped; but a sign on the gate reminding people not to slam it might help? It wasn’t so much of an issue for us but may be for other guests 🙂

Quiet part of town and I could see the river from there. Quiet motel with a lovely pool. The owner even got me a coffee plunger which was lovely of her.

It’s not the motel’s fault but next time I will remember to bring a sandwich toaster or something because 10 days just with the microwave my food got a bit boring

Unreal little motel, perched up in the hill looking west ,. small,beautiful little fishing village on the Clarence River.. will defintaly be returning.. had seafood whiting fillets, prawns, calamari ,barmaid bugs and sand crab wich was all amazing and the staff at the local seafood shop were nice aswell answering all my fishing queries about the river and what it stocks surprisingly Mulloway keggers which I'll return to chase. From the lookout we watched the cane fields get burnt back in the late arvo. Which I've wanted to see fir a long time. And the beer at the pub was cold and crisp after all the sightseeing see ya soon maclean

Nothing had a amazing time

Very clean. Great comfortable bed and a great shower. These are the three basic criteria that I require at any motel, and they exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I asked if they had a toaster and was immediately provided with one. The updated bathroom was great. The motel is very close to the Motorway, so it is ideal when travelling from Sydney to Brisbane. Very quiet location.

Nothing to dislije

Room was great but it smelt a bit like a blocked sewer pipe smell. Thought the toilet may not have been cleaned but it turned out the smell was coming from outside the room. When I opened the door in the morning it was just overpowering from the outside.....not the room!

Apart fromthe ambient outside odour all was good.

It has a clean beach feel. I loved that it had a microwave and utensils, which most motels don't supply. The local IGA is a must-see (Sushi bar in the middle 👏)

The room was great if I was nitpicking. Unfortunately, the bed had wheels and no brakes. So I moved a bit. However, it is a great motel, and if I were in the area again, we would stay there.
