We took buses from Sydney and the bus stop was right outside the Mirage. It has a swimming pool and nice views from the pool area Excellent budget price for the area which has expensive AirBnB's Good location Thai restaurant nearby is excellent and reasonably priced. Newport Arms Hotel next door has a huge outdoor area with lovely sunset water views. Food and drinks not cheap. (Pizza + pint $25 4-6pm is good value)

No breakfast provided or available at the Mirage restaurant. There is a convenience store opposite where you can buy milk, cereal etc. but its closed Sunday (and Saturday?) Also a coffee shop opposite for breakfast. Our friends said their croissants were stale 😕 We brought our own cereal and milk, asked for bowls and cutlery at reception. 😊😊 We had a room in the 3rd floor, friends were on the 5th floor. Our room was in better condition.

Parking very tight , our room 313 had great 1/4 view of the water., however our air conditioning didn’t work on a very cold night and we were reduced to using a small portable heater. It took time to convince the staff that the a/c actually didn’t work . To their credit they transferred us to another room the next day and while we lost the view the a/c worked and we were able to have a good night’s sleep. They also did not charge us for the first night which was much appreciated. That is why I still gave the stay 8 out 10 satisfaction

Friendly pleasant staff🙂. The location was perfect, very close access to the bus/transit system, pretty much at the doorstep. Our room was maintained nicely every day. We were on the 5th floor, and it was quiet the entire month we were there. We used the pool several times, and it was clean. My mom and I were comfortable there (made it our home away from home) I would stay again, and I suggested that my daughter who just lives down the street from the hotel to encourage her friends to stay there when they come visit from Canada 🇨🇦 🙂 Good fair price! And thanks for the TimTams they were delicious 😋. We bought more to take back home with us. We were happy with our stay. There were a lot of hot days in February, but the air con kept us cool.

The stand-up shower floor is slippery. I used a hand towel to stand on mainly so my elderly mother wouldn't slip. The shower leaked some outside the stall. Again, we just put the bath mat/towel on the floor that was provided. It was not a big deal because there was a drain. The air conditioner did leak on a few really hot days. Staff were attentive and offered us a new room immediately, but we declined and improvised.

This is a 1960's hotel, cared for and comfortable. Nice welcome! The spa room had a brilliant view out over the swimming pool and Pittwater (see photo). Location is opposite a Merivale hotel... great range of drink and foods in garden and indoor settings at midrange prices. If you don't have a car, the Manly to Palm Beach bus stops outside every 10 minutes (we did a long walk through northern beaches and caught the very handy bus back). Very close by car to ferries, beaches, national park and food options. Excellent view from breakfast room! We had a very good time here.

The car park is a very tight fit for other than small cars: plenty of adjacent street parking, though. Noisy air conditioner was dealt with quickly. Few(?) customers meant that the "buffet" breakfast was a-la-carte (apart from fruit and small bakery range): a monster full English breakfast was served instead!! Paying $4-$6 extra for fresh coffee seemed unreasonable in the circumstances (especially as a manager was talking loudly to the other crew members about fees and charges for other services while they helped themselves to fresh coffee in front of us).

Staff tried to accommodate our needs as we were going to an afternoon wedding but we were unable to check in before 2 pm. The room was huge, in fact too big if that could be a complaint. The TV was so far away it was impossible to watch comfortable.

The bathroom was inadequate, squeezed into a corner of the huge room. The shower door had no handle on the inside so it was impossible to shut it enough to stop the water escaping onto the small floor. The carpark was a very tight squeeze, with no room for turning around so you have to reverse out after finding no spaces. We parked in the street opposite the hotel.

The location was fantastic. The pool was right on the water and had amazing views. The rooftop terrace where we had breakfast had stunning views and was a lovely place to begin the day. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. The rooms each had a tiny little balcony, which was cute, and looked out on tropical trees and plants, offering a feeling of seclusion and privacy, as well as calm. You could open a door onto it and stand outside - gave the room a greater sense of space. We had adjoining rooms for our family and both were very clean, light and tidy. We stayed there overnight for a wedding at Whale Beach and the accommodation was perfect for our needs.

There was nothing to not like. The parking would have been a challenge to anyone not confident in tight spaces.

After all the negative reviews we had read we were very surprised and happy with the cleanliness and quality of the room. There's no doubt the hotel is a bit old and tired and the common areas could do with an upgrade, but this really didn't worry us. Also the late night reception (open till 11pm) was a bonus because we didn't arrive until quite late.

layout of the parking was tight and was full when we got there. But there was lots of parking on the street right outside, so not a problem.

It is alittle bit dated but I still rate it and recommenced, the staff were really good, the location is good right across the road the Newport pub. which does really good food.

The car parking as it is a older building the car parks weren't really design for bigger cars and ute that alot of us have. just abit to get out, I saw other people scrap the wall or there roof racks while I was there.

The location of the motel suited our needs. The bed was comfortable and the temperature of the room was pleasant. The room and bathroom appeared to be clean. However, when leaving a large deposit of blond hair was attached to our footwear and luggage.

When a door of a room, that was close by, was closed it made our door rattle. Also the number of car parks is quite restricted. And some parts are difficult to manoeuvre. The vacuuming of the room could have been better.
