The room was very clean. We received fresh towels, sheets, soaps, and coffee, tea, and cookies every day. The room was quiet, and the beds were very comfortable. Overall, it exceeded our expectations

The reception is located inside a sort of casino where people smoke indoors. There is no way to avoid going through the smoke, and the whole experience of getting to the reception felt a bit shady. However, the accommodation itself was the opposite. Also, for some reason, the key card did not work on the day of checkout. We went to put some things in the car, and when we tried to get back in to collect the rest, we got stuck outside. They fixed the issue within seconds, but we had to pass through the smoke again. Communication with the receptionist was a bit difficult.

Once you’re in the accommodation wing you’re away from the pokies in a clean, good-sized room, with comfy bed, recently installed wooden fixtures and fittings, functional plumbing and plenty of hot water. With transport you’re relatively close to good shopping, eating and entertainment precincts.

There is no breakfast at the hotel, and the adjacent cafe (who do breakfast) is not open everyday. It’s not clear where the hotel check-in is located - and once you’ve found it, you’re at the desk servicing the poker machine players, surrounded by pokies and players, which is a little disconcerting. Apart from the markets, there’s not much interesting within walking distance.

The room was comfortable enough, good size. Interesting that the hand basin was in the bedroom rather than the bathroom, not good or bad, just different! (I've seen this in other pub hotels). The reception is always staffed - it's in the bar of the Gaming Room! Very helpful staff in all areas, even giving us a hand with some of the luggage. We had some great meals at the bistro. It's literally next to Flemington/Paddy's markets, and it's not far to walk through the overhead carpark walkway to Flemington train station (about 500m). We'd be happy to go back.

Good overall, but in cleaning, the area under the bed hasn't been looked at for a while (evidence that another couple staying there before clearly had a good night ; ) Quite a strong air freshener smell in the corridor.

It was nice room with great facilities. The bistro food was nice too!

I was confused on where to go when I arrived. As I hadn’t researched the location much and didn’t expect to be in a pokies pub when I opened the door! Nobody asked me if I needed help as such… as I probably didn’t look like I was staying there. (All staff were pleasant and helpful, whenever I actually engaged with them.) They could do with a little more signage for hotel customers. I was also kept up half the night on my first night there, by possibly a loud TV on all night in another room?

Had a nice lunch at the hotel bistro. Was actually better than I was expecting. Staff was very friendly, and allowed us even to check in early. The rooms are separate from the bar and gaming area, with a separate key card entry to the rooms. Not to mention the price we paid was awesome. I would stay here again.

It is what it is. Which is a hotel with a bar and gaming facilities. Its located right near the Markets in Homebush so you have people having beers/ playing the pokies in the morning after their night shifts. No one was unpleasant, and the staff run a professional ship. Might not be quite family friendly however.

The location suits me perfectly, right at Flemington Markets on Parramatta Rd. The hotel has a really enjoyable down to earth vibe. The food in the bistro is generous and affordable, as are the drinks at the bars. The staff are unfailingly friendly. The rooms are very clean and in good shape. There is a really good bakery for breakfast 25 metres away. I’ve stayed here a few times now and it will always be my first choice for this area. The hotel has a really positive and enjoyable atmosphere for me.

Checking in, the smoking area of the pokies lounge is not the best first impression. However, I did get used to it and the cheerful staff make up for it

Value for money, rooms are quiet and separated from the pokies and bar buildings. Rooms had all the classic apartment furnishings, and the beds were comfortable. Close by Olympic Park so it's a great affordable choice for those in town for a concert or show. Didn't try out the rest of the venue, so no comment on that.

Some of the tiles in the bathroom wall were bulging out from the wall and about to fall. Floor tiles dated and steeply slanted down towards the drain (be careful if you slip). Seemed a little dusty above the toilet. Main point of contention was the fact that the bathroom sink is located outside of the bathroom... it's facing the beds and is located completely above carpet, which makes one wonder if there has ever been any mould issues; did not seem to be any visible sign during my stay but it was still an interesting experience having a sink in a carpeted room.

The rooms were clean and the staff lovely. Toiletries, tea and coffee were refilled daily. Given its on a main road and pub down stairs, the rooms were relatively quiet, only a few times did we hear outside noise. While public transport wasn't close the hotel is a great location for driving places, it's between the major roads.

The stairs, no lift. As we had a long stay, needed to wash clothes, nearest laundry was on main road so hard to park and access.

Okay so this place is not a 5 star super hotel or anything. It’s not a trendy boutique hotel. It is attached. To a sports bar and located next to a massive market/ warehouse complex. It is dated and doesn’t look great from the outside . But we were visiting Sydney for new year and this place wasn’t ridiculous overpriced. And we actually found it really good . Staff were friendly and able to help not just smile. The rooms were clean and equipped as described. We didn’t get disturbed by the sports Bar. The windows were all cleaned and I am saw staff going around cleaning etc. the location was also good in terms of getting into central Sydney . A 10 min walk to the train then a 35 min train journey. So yes it exceeded my expectations

Stayed for only one night. It was very pleasant. The beds were clean. Toilet, and shower particularly good. The wash basin in the bed area was extremely useful. The provision of tea, coffee bags and milk were very adequate. Plug pointe and lights in the room were designed in good locations and particularly easy to operate next to bed.

The backdoor entry through the bar area could be opened till midnight.
