Cute old hotel, the pub food was amazing, we were lucky the steak night was the night we stayed. It was the best rump I’ve ever had! The location was so close to the Cabarita ferry, made travel to the city and Taronga zoo very easy. Only a short distance to Accor Stadium for the concert we went to.

The showers were big but the water pressure was terrible and not consistent in temperature. It was easier to just have a cold shower, lucky it was a hot time of year.

The staff mostly were amazing. We had a mess up with our booking for a different hotel so it was super last minute and they were so accommodating for it and we were very appreciative of it!

The rooms for the price were a bit on the steep side but there was an event on and last minute. The holes in the roof and marks on the carpet were a bit off putting.

Great vibe as you approach the hotel, love the classic feel of the place all round! From the music to the old school rooms complete with the golden bulb vintage light switches!

A little further from the station then the ad on booking.com as suggested so the cab fare was a small fortune, otherwise it was a very relaxed stay!

Great service, very friendly and helpful staff. Room and bathroom were very clean on arrival. Easy check in process. Food downstairs in the bistro is also good!

At first it's hard to find or know how or where to go to check in. But went around to the restaurant, and first guy we saw, we asked, and was super helpful! Room was a little cold though and not much to help that. The bathroom is detached from the room also (when booking, we thought it said included in the room). And no lamps so only the main ceiling light (not detrimental)

Fantastic location, great value for money if you have realistic expectations. Pub food was great, and $15 lunches a HUGE bonus!

My room had part of the shutters broken, at the very bottom, so hard to maintain privacy and keep the sun out of a morning. Also only one battery in the remote so it didn’t work - I didn’t try to get it fixed but since the cleaners has obviously made up my room they probably should have noted that. Despite the info sheet saying a bar fridge was included, there wasn’t one in the room. Shower curtain rod was flimsy until it finally got fixed the day before I left. Not something the Hotel can control, but if you have a low tolerance for dealing with other people’s untidyness/dirtyness, you may struggle with the shared bathroom.

Your staff were very kiind caring informative and went the extra mile to ensured we had every thing we needed. Thank you so much for making our stay in Sydney so easy an stressfree.

The Placace Hotel is the best

Great budget accommodation with comfy beds and pillows. Share bathroom facilities with plenty of towels and toiletries left in our room. This is “Pub” accommodation so don’t expect to be staying at a Palace (pardon the pun) and there is background noise from people enjoying themselves downstairs. We expected this and it didn’t bother us at all. Family of 3 with an 11 year old.

Need mattress protectors on the lovely new mattresses!

The staff were fantastic & the food is always great value. Wednesday Steak night $18 with chips & salad. The steak was tender.

Nothing worth mentioning

Clean room, friendly staff. We were here for the Def Leppard and Motley Crüe concert so the short distance to the stadium and affordability of staying here was really good.

Room didn’t have aircon so was a little warm over night, but the fan worked so wasn’t too bad.

The room was large, very clean, and had tea & coffee making facilities (unusual in a pub/hotel). Staff were friendly and helpful Pub down stairs was trendy with lots of character.

Shared bathroom facilities could have been better. Obviously, staying in a pub/hotel on a Friday night means that there is some noise from the bustling bar downstairs - great if you want to join in, not so useful if you have an early start & need to sleep. However this was not unreasonable or go on too late.
