Our 2 night stay was very homely. We had a balcony which was great. It was shared with 2 other rooms but I did not see anyone else. Our room had a private bathroom and the shower had great water pressure and the bathroom was very roomy with complimentary toiletries. The beds were very comfortable. We had a TV, fridge, tea and coffee facilities, lots of storage space, a dining table and all the room you could possibly need to move around. We had no issues regarding the room at all. I was in room 22 with my son. My husband and other son were in another room, so I can only comment on that room as all pub rooms are not the same. The pub was across from the train station which was great. And great restaurant. The food was really nice

The STAIRS. OMG…We were on the second floor. My legs were on fire by the time I reached the top and my Husband and Kids had a rest on first floor before proceeding - I think we need to improve our fitness LOL PARKING - The only parking near the pub was pay and park. So we had to pay at 2 hourly intervals ($10) until 7pm then free until 8am.

The location is perfect, right in front of Strathfield Station. I booked a single room with a private bathroom, which was just what I needed after a long day. The room was clean, with fresh towels, bedsheets, and toiletries provided. There was also a kettle with tea bags, coffee, sugar, and milk, plus a small refrigerator and a fan. It’s definitely not a fancy place, but it’s a humble and private spot to sleep and shower, with a great price and convenient location. Some people mentioned the noisy floors and small room, but I found it totally fine for my needs.

It was my first time in Strathfield ever, I'm from Newcastle.. I just needed to get away and I picked the Hotel off google.. I was an hour early when I checked In which wasn't a issue I was welcomed by wonderful staff and given my key to my room.. It's so close to the train station but I didn't have to go anywhere else.. wonderful, wonderful food, lovely bar staff. The lady in the drive through bottle shop attached was awesome and took time to tell me of the history of the Hotel, she loves her job there .. Next time I'm there I'm going to buy her a coffee and chat to her more she really made my stay there incredible just by learning more about the place.. I had a room with a shared toilet and bathroom which was immaculate in being clean at all times. My only problem and it was my only problem was the room had no Television.. if the room had a tv to watch at night it would be 💯/PC perfection...

Only thing was not having a tv to watch when I went back to the room, this was my only issue and even though the price was good everyone needs a television

Strathfield hotel is an older style hotel, it's got all the old fashioned staircases and windy corridors. It's not fancy but it's just straightforward basic accommodation near a train station and hospital and the staff are great.

If my expectations were high I might be disappointed but I think for anyone on a budget, this place will give you what you need. Some things to be aware of: stairs. Shared bathrooms. Very basic, there are fans but not airconditioning. But the staff are great, so helpful.

I liked the authentic original decor and old furniture, if it was restored it needs to keep the unique character of the old building. It was perfectly fine to have share bathroom facilities.

If renovated it needs to retain the features like staircase ,high old ceilings and not attempt to modernise or lose the charm of the old building. The bathrooms could do with some attention but in keeping with the character of the age of building.

The staff who helped check me on were super friendly and helpful. The location was easy to get to and close to shops. Once inside the room it was very quiet and I couldn't hear anything outside, which helped a lot considering it was a busy area.

The biggest draw back about the room was the air con didn't work to keep the room cool, the pillows were uncomfortable and the hot water system ran out on one of the nights.

I was on the second floor it is definitely quieter than first, in the morning I did not hear any train noise as the Station started up for the day. What ravellers have to allow for is no lifts in this builiding.

I f Booking.com would have conveyed my request for a first floor room, this is the second time they have failed to do so.I have a history of a back injury and cannot carry my luggage two flights of stairs. Thanksfully the Bar Staff organised the Sec uirty guard on duty to carry my luggage. Problem is in the morning 9am no one to help me carry my luuugage downstairs.

The location is perfect for nearby functions and the transportation is amazing. The hotel advertised share bathroom, however I found an ensuite on the website.

The hotel features did mention that there were only stairs cases. Nevertheless I much enjoyed being back at Strathfield NSW Australia

The room was clean and tidy, bed was comfortable and the complimentary Tea and Coffee was of good quality. The staff were friendly and helpful and the price was good value. I would definitely stay there again.

I didn’t like the fact that there was no off street parking, we were lucky enough to gat a parking spot right out the front of the hotel. Sunday morning breakfast was easily obtainable from the Cafe’s just around the corner on the same block as the Hotel.

Strathfield railway station is over the road,trains to city leave every few minutes so you couldn't get it any better to get to the air port on the same line.

You get what you pay for can't see the point in paying for " all the bells and whistles", so there is nothing to complain about !! Good and old fashioned!!
