Friendly staff, good value for money, short walk to train station and great restaurants. Rooms have not been ruined by development and the character of the place is fantastic with moulded ceilings, wooden staircase, stained glass and a fabulous 30s tiled bathroom. Sharing facilities was fine as cleaning staff were competent.

A little dusty and fitted sheets would be better, as would a mirror and a bedside light. But for the price, great little place.

I had a homely feeling in this ancient style hotel with high roof. I like the separate entrance provided for the Accommodation access, which assure the privacy of the guests. It would have been better if private bathroom was available, but the bathrooms were not crowded, and also spacious, therefore gave a good value for money. The common dining area was attractive. Would have been good if a separate water kettle and an ironing facility were available in the room. The staff was friendly and helpful. My request for keeping our baggage in a store room was allowed, for which I am much grateful. This hotel gave us a good value for money 😊

Having to cross a busy arterial road to go to the shops and the train station is a bit hard. But we could manage crossing the road strategically.

It was a great price and I was surprised how okay the stay was for being a hotel (alcohol sold/lounge) downstairs with the accommodation upstairs. I am a mature aged (60 year old) female and was doing a course right in the city part of Parramatta. Bus stop was only 50 metres outside of hotel which was good or could even have walked, or took "tram".

If I had known I would have booked a room further away from the old wooden staircase as heard a bit of noise from the creaking in boards from people going up and downstairs. No food could be bought from there, only had the bar and a "munchie machine". Ie. Packets of chips, choc bars etc. Was hoping they had meals there BUT hotel has stopped that for the time being, so I had to go out for food. They did however, provide downstairs a small coffee, tea room for guests, which had a small food warmer.

The room was nicely presented comfortable and clean. OK value for money for where it is.

I thought it had it's own bathroom. The card to get into room ran out 20 minutes before 10am checkout deadline.

The lovely bar and reception staff. Helpful management. Quiet location. Good parking.

Occasional dirty guests in the shared eating area. Letting toddlers pee on the table and using food tables for nappy changing.

I liked the location and the staff were absolutely amazing! I was greeted by every staff member with a big happy smile and very friendly conversation.

I didn’t like having to share the bathroom, but who would 😂

For the price I paid, the room was excellent for what I needed. Nothing too glamorous which was perfect. The staff were very helpful when we had a query, made the whole experience much better. Not too far from everything (short drive into the city centre)

Quite and easy to going around for shopping and rest

No fridge Very old microwave No dishwasher or tab for washing dishes

Comfortable bed, clean room and shared bathroom, close to train and bus

For what I paid (very cheap for Sydney), it was worth it
