This is a very pretty and beautifully furnished boutique hotel with super comfy top quality bedding and stylish landscaping. The location is great - close to the best that Wagga has to offer in restaurants and shopping - Uneke, Meccanico and The Riverine Club and more all within a couple of blocks. We stayed in 2 different rooms over a 3 night stay due to room availability - and the more expensive rooms are definitely quieter and larger and are in the lovely main house - though all rooms have a kitchenette and offer the same very cute cereal, yoghurt, bottled milk, T2 teas and 6 coffee pods replaced each day - which is a lovely generous touch. Bathrooms are spacious with the ‘Master Suite’ offering a bath as well as a separate shower. The studio suites are also lovely - but as another guest review mentioned - two of the studio suites are connected which would be great for a family - but when these are sold as separate suites the noise travels right under the connecting doors - a shame really as it’s easily fixed. I hope management looks at this soon. Also whilst it’s lovely to have outdoor furniture directly outside these studio suites - the reality is that neighbouring guests can also use these spaces - and listening to their phone calls or general banter directly outside one’s room is quite disturbing. That said - this is a truly lovely hotel of only 11 rooms - full of quality inclusions and offers value for money - and we would definitely stay again. Additionally - whilst we didn’t see the staff - via email they were incredibly accommodating with late checkout (big thanks) and organising our room transfer without having any time out of the property. Very very kind and guest experience focussed. Well done The Houston!

Self check in was easy. The room was well provisioned for a short stay including a healthy breakfast option. Information about cafes and restaurants within walking distance was also very helpful. The Houston is high end quality. Cleanliness, indoor comfort and security were excellent.
Although we loved everything inside The Houston Suite, the provision of comfy outdoor chairs on the balcony would be an opportunity for improvement. The chairs had no cushions or coverings and the cane was as hard as bones! Needless to say we didn’t sit there long.

A beautifully presented and maintained property. We have stayed before and loved it.
There have been changes since our last visit that were disappointing. No longer dog friendly and no welcome. Very basic breakfast on offer (muesli & a small amount of yogurt); not even juice or a slice of bread and supplies for toast. We previously stayed on the other side of the courtyard and this time found the traffic noise quite uncomfortable. Could also hear the TV and occasional cough from the neighbouring room. Sadly, while certainly ‘boutique’, I don’t feel that ‘luxury’ describes the Houghton’s new feel.

This place offers serviced rooms/suites, it is not a boutique hotel, or a hotel at all. The suite we had was perfectly nice with a heritage feel to it. There is a pleasant enclosed courtyard and the parking was very secure. The location is good for accessing the town centre by foot.
The service is completely impersonal, all done by text/e-mail. I may be old fashioned but I prefer to be welcomed by an actual human being and to know that there is someone there to assist if needed.

Lovely old building, very well renovated. Great location, a short walk to eating places etc. The kitchenette was well designed & equipped and the provision of muesli, yoghurt and fruit for breakfast was a nice touch.
There was a kitchenette for cooking, but no table or chairs for dining. Wi-fi poor & the off-street parking is very limited. We were there early in the week when it was quiet, but if busy it wouldn’t be very convenient to park in the street.

We stay at the Houston when we visit our daughter who is studying in Wagga. We love the comfort, convenience and proximity to nearby restaurants and cafes. The apartments are well designed with a sitting area, kitchenette and access to a shaded courtyard with seats. The building and apartments are stylishly decorated and retain the historic character of the building.
The apartments facing the carpark need a semi transparent blind to let light in but retain privacy. Also some cupboard space in the bathroom would help. We have stayed in a few other apartments at the Houston and can’t fault them.

Very private and cosy. Extremely comfortable and I loved the little touch of cereal yogurt and milk available. There was also an espresso coffee machine. Great touch! Good parking and loved the PIN code entry on the parking and the room so no key was needed!
There was nothing I didn’t like. I only put a negative on the staff because there was no staff which was amazing!

There are only 11 rooms at this lovely, well located boutique hotel and they are all well equipped and beautifully furnished. Very comfy beds, great linens, mini kitchens, microwaves, cutlery, crockery, coffee pods and T2 tea, and milk/yoghurt/fruit/cereal replenished each day for breakfast. This is an exceptional offering for a country town and well worth the extra $$. Staff were lovely and helpful via email communication.
The water pressure in the showers isnt great.

Bed was a king size and comfy. Easy access information was provided. Lovely decor. Good hot water pressure in stand alone shower. Added bonus was the delightful muesli and yoghurt breakfast goodies provided. Great off street parking.
Nothing really. If it was me I would have only put a queen size bed in the room rather than a king but that's just me.

Great location, surroundings.
The air con was blowing straight onto the bed so I couldn't sit or lie without getting chilly. I turned it 'off' at the wall but although the screen registered blank, the air kept coming. Any chance of aiming the vents straight ahead not down? Thanks.
