The kitchen was amazing with all the pots and pans/ utensils plus free tea and coffee. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The lounge areas were great and had a homely feel. Outside area was lovely to sit and have a coffee. Fresh herbs were grown here and free to use. Comfortable bed. Very close to beautiful old pub and quirky interesting shops. If you are going to Yungaburra you must stay here. Very reasonable price. You can go on a night canoe tour for $40 and a stream with platypus not far from accomodation. It is a shared space accomodation ( hostel) not a hotel but that's what made it amazing as the kitchen facilities were awesome.

It did become quite noisy in the mornings as there is a tour that stays overnight from Cairns. Everyone gathering to get back on the bus woke me up each morning.

Loved the fact it is an eco lodge and does its bit for the environment, the cabins are lovely, outdoor shower under the stars shower is epic, has everything you'd need for everyone to use (kitchen, coffee, mugs), location is perfect and within walking distance to everything Yungaburra has to offer.

Motion sensor lights would be good as walking between the cabin and the bathroom/shower at night was a little bit difficult. Wouldn't recommend lights that stay on all the time as that will affect sleep quality.

Lovely and homey place. Quite comfortable, good atmosphere with the right people. Good place for community and making new friends or just having a chat with someone you don’t know. Staff was exceptionally understanding and accommodating.

No view but good atmosphere that makes up for it. Fruit flies to be expected when having a compost bin, perhaps compost bin and others would be better moved outside a little further but then it would be hard to find them from the kitchen. Otherwise this is a good place, friendly and inviting.

This hostel was amazing! first of all an amazing location. In the middle of the tablelands and in the middle of this beautiful peaceful town Yungaburra. Close to peterson creek where around sunrise, sunset and after dark you can spot platypus, tree kangaroos, possums and other wildlife. They offer a nocturnal canoe trip too, where you spot wildlife after dark. this hostel is close to other beautiful places too: lake eacham, millaa millaa falls, curtain fig tree, cathedral fig tree, etc. The hostel itself is super clean, ecofriendly, and has really good facilities. Nice and cosy: feels like coming home. Easy to make friends in this place. Nice little garden where you can relax. Beds are comfy.

Loved the focus on wildlife spotting and nature, the look and feel of the eco-lodge (paintings of wildlife, outdoor space, open kitchen), really enjoyed talking with Bella about the wildlife we were seeing and where to go out looking. Also loved the complimentary coffee/tea and milk, free fruit from the garden, as well as the communal kitchen.

Host Shannon was amazing. She kept On the Wallaby super clean and tidy. Was very welcoming and helpful. We have been coming here for years and this time were so impressed with the kitchen upgrade. The stylish benchtops, new crockery, pots and pans made cooking a breeze. Of course we'll be back!

Great location, incredibly quiet. Lovely room with very comfortable beds. The lady on reception was really helpful, sorting us out with an appropriate room, I booked at the last minute. Fabulous atmosphere, really felt at home and comfortable. Everywhere was clean and tidy. The rainwater tap was an added bonus.

Very kind staff and wonderfully eco-friendly. The double bed room was the perfect fit for my daughter and I. The communal areas are cozy. Lots of backpackers come through on tours, but they were super quiet and very friendly. Free coffee, tea, and milk included, too!

Showers lacked water pressure and didn't keep the temperature well.

Lovely little place, we stayed in one of the cabins which was small but cosy and very homely. Communal area is lovely, homely feel. Very clean showers and toilets, we didn’t cook but kitchen facilities looked good. This was such good value for money, would definitely recommend to stay here! Budget price but felt so much nicer than any hostel or other cheap accommodation we’ve stayed in.

Would be good if the Wi-Fi reached the cabins but I appreciate that’s probably difficult to achieve!

Loved the eco vibe, good kitchen facilities. Staff really friendly (including Wally the bellhop frog) and recommended good spots for us to check out around Yungaburra.

Room quite basic but rest of place made up for it.
