Location in the hills gave us a very comfortable experience with easy access to hiking, village activities, and relaxation. included breakfast had limited selections but enough to keep us well fed and ready to explore. The "turndown service" with a glass of port and handmade chocolate ended each day with a lovely note.

Someway to advise us of the village events that shut down streets. We got stuck in the midst of the Stirling Fair and barely missed the Mount Barker event.

The grounds and venue are stunning and photos don’t do it justice, what I can’t capture was undoubtedly the best part of our stay at Mount Lofty was the people. Everyone from Christopher to the bar staff, waitstaff and housekeeping went out of their way to make us feel like family. The atmosphere is not like any typical stay, it is like coming home. We both loved being here and will be back. We warned, after visiting Mt Lofty House no other typical hotel will live up to here. 10/10!

spectacular views, very friendly and welcoming staff and the bed was super comfortable. The room was a decent size and plenty of other communal spaces available for sitting and reading a book etc if you don't want to sit in your room

But of noise on Saturday night from some kind of event on premises but it didn't go on too long or too late. Food in the restaurant was lovely but the place only has degustation menus and if you are vegetarian/vegan you only have one choice so either have to eat the same thing every night or eat elsewhere

Really enjoyed the location. Being up in the hills was great, not too far up the freeway. Being winter, it was a very nice home feeling of wood fires, and staff were very pleasant throughout our stay. We had dinner there and the food was amazing, breakfast included the next day and it was also so very nice. I proposed to my girlfriend and the staff were able to cater to that to make it a very special moment for us.

There wasn't anything to really not like. The price would be the only thing as trying to save like crazy and the cost of living doesn't help. But it was a night off we both needed and a wonderful place to propose.

It was one of the overall best accomodation packages we have ever had, everything was amazing, location, setting, rooms, friendly staff, food - everything was exceptional!!!!

The only negative we could come up with is the lack of al a carte menu options, as we did not want to do the degustation option, so therefore the food choices for an evening meal were very limited - so we would have liked to have an al a carte option in the premium restaurant area, but unfortunately that was not an option - but is saying that the food and service we did have was excellent, just limited options.

Loved the accommodation and people were very friendly. It was such a cosy place

At our dinner at the HVR - one of the staff had a bad cold and was snorting and snivelling all the way through. Actually put me off my food and with all the infections going around I though I might have caught something. Not something you want to hear when eating. Plus he was the one changing all cutlery etc.... A lovely guy dont get me wrong, however management should ask when staff are sick they should go home

Reception and welcome drinks was great, staff friendly and truly engaged and proud of the hotel. Breakfast was fantastic, with views to match Pre-dinner bar staff were friendly and well experienced with wines

Little things to do better, bathroom was well presented but noted the following: Shower, temperature fluctuated quite a bit from cool to very hot A heated towel rail would eliminate damp towels from previous night, reduce laundry etc.

We loved the manor, the staff, the food, the atmosphere, the room, the view, everything. It's definitely worthwhile attending the welcome talk and tour. Not only do you get free booze but the talk and tour are very entertaining.

It'd be tricky to stay for more than one night as there really isn't anywhere to put your clothes (the wardrobe is ridiculously narrow). Also the bathroom vanity is too small and doesn't have enough counter space to put both a make-up bag and toiletries bag. I suggest you lose the useless bookcase and extend the bathroom. Instead of "gentleman's club" décor perhaps think Kathryn Hepburn's dressing room (1930s glamour).

What is not to love about this gorgeous place! I can not think of one thing that could be improved upon. The staff were amazing and so happy to assist in every way. The facilities are perfect and the place is breathtaking. The room is gorgeous and full of character. It is one of the most perfect places to stay.

Went for a special treat with my teenage autistic son. Christmas present to myself. For 1 night. We were treated like like royalty. From the time we drove up we were spoilt with exceptional service. Ollie was respectfully spoken to and interacted wirh and he spent hrs in the gorgeous pool whilst I got to totally switch off and be a lounge lizard. Ordering drinks and food by the pool! What a treat. Delicious dinner, fabulous bed, dream cooked breakfast in bed. Late check out, home baked cookies and a beautiful hardcover book covering the history of the house as a parting gift. Thank you for a magical stay.
