Everything about Birks Harbour was great for us! From the breakfast to the ability to cook occasionally, to sitting with a glass of wine looking at the rocking boats in the marina during the storm, to just listening to and watching the birds when it became calmer. I read 3 books and slept 10 hours a night - which was perfect for me!

The location on the river is perfect, with the small marina adjacent the building providing a backdrop of boats. The large deck is a great feature, perfect for an evening drink and viewing of the passing parade of birds. The interior of the boathouse is charming, rustic and comfortable. Lovely provisions for breakfast, and the fresh loaf of bread was particularly welcome.

A lovely well equipped and presented property, it is in a great location for town and restaurants etc. what a place to wake up in the morning and enjoy a drink in the evening. We loved it

Being right on the water, and the cracking combustion fire to keep us toasty warm. Super comfy bed. Slept very soundly.

The location is spectacular, as it is right on the river at a private jetty. The view from the lounge was of the old wooden boats and the river. Birks Harbour is well equipped, private and the bed was very comfortable. A very welcoming host.

Cormorants dry their wings at the end of the jetty, pelicans skim in and the noisy cram of birdsong welcoming each daybreak is a chorus.

Stunning location, exceptional property. The hosts were amazing from the time we booked they kept us updated and nothing was too much trouble. Have no hesitation in recommending this property and will hopefully return one day.

Beautiful spot. Very private. Furnished like a magazine - it was hard not to just stay and enjoy the place. But, enjoyed some local adventures as well.

No complaints! Not much kitchen prep space so plan to eat out or reheat. You are on holiday after all!
