There are a few bad reviews on here but I'm not sure people are realising that this is NOT a 5 star hotel. The rooms need a bit of a revamp but this is reflected in the price. I paid $140 and the room was tidy, spacious and comfortable, and even had a spa!! There is an indoor pool and a lovely lake. Free parking. Room service and free coffee the next morning. If you are expecting a 5 star hotel with all the bells and whistles, this is not for you. If you are looking for an affordable, comfortable, spacious room with free parking, a spa in the room and close to a main road for accessibility, this place is fine.

The area surrounding the winery is lovely. The gardens are well manicured and the lighting at the well at night is lovely for a photo. The rooms are quite enough considering it backs on to a main highway. You could only hear traffic noises whilst in the bathroom. There was plenty of cupboard space and enough lighting. Stayed in a spa room which had a larger bathroom which is a bonus as the bath and shower are separated in these rooms. The poolhouse was lovely but the depth plate is misleading. It says 1.5M for the deep end and I'm 1.65 and could not touch the bottom without the water being over my head. The food at Walters was lovely we ate there both nights we stayed.

The room we had had a few cracks in the wall which detracts from the atheistics of the place but other than that it was lovely

We have been here before and we live very close but we like the charm of this place. The fact that it is close to home is especially important now when we have family members who are not well If we suddenly had to leave, then it's piece of mind that we are close.

It's a bit dated and could do with an upgrade. Our room was clean enough but it could be better as there were wipe marks all over the bathroom mirror. Cupboard doors had old liquid run marks on both sides. A bit dusty and had an unfinished cleaning feeling. Also, as there is a fridge, it's inviting to bring foods and snacks. There were no plates or knifes and forks. I know we probably could have called kitchen for some but sometimes you just don't want any people to appear or us having to go and get things ourselves, if that makes sence. These are only very small obstacles for us. Only mentioning now because it asks what wasn't good.

It's a quaint property. Old school vibes. Classic and old fashioned. Uniquely picturesque venue. Don't expect top-notch room facilities as it's an older property... but because of its history... it is simply a beautiful stay.. .my partner and i booked one of the spa rooms and it was more than we needed for the price. BONUS POINTS- Hot water lasts forever too. (Shower and Spa)

Everything was perfect for our stay! Except one suggestion would be in the small kitchenette area, and provide a microwave... As after hours are hard for late night nibbles. (So buy and stock early from the IGA 2m away if necessary) Accessible bar fridge available. No sink except for bathroom, which is fine for simple cleaning.

The girl at reception at 3pm on Sunday 3rd dark hair. was very pleasant an obliging when I booked in .as my partner had prosectic leg ,she gave us a ground floor room an close to the pool as possible .an also helped me with a charger as I had left my home an phone was flat .

The SOLID blonde working at reception on Monday the 4th was quite rude to my partner an when I went to reception later.i commented on lady at front reception an found her the same ABRUBT @ RUDE .only person all weekend that was not warming. even gardener was polite an obliging

Very nice and helpful staff, quick check-in process. The rooms are large and spacious. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool. The bathroom in my room had a jetted tub. Additionally, the bathroom also had a shower.

The hotel swimming pool needs renovation and is missing ceramic tiles. The internet doesn't always work, and when it does, the speed is slow. Near the hotel there is a pond with numerous birds, the stench of which sometimes reaches the hotel. At night you can see rats running around the hotel. It's not the hotel's fault, but it's not a pleasant experience.

The room was a little 'dated' but certainly not in desperate need of a makeover, and it was larger than I expected. The airconditioner worked well and the bed was very comfortable. Best of all the room was spotless - so 5 stars to the cleaners - and the sheets and towels were good quality and looked new. The reception staff were polite and efficient.

Because the rooms are around a courtyard, you can hear people talking out there so it could potentially be noisy if there is a function on. Very early one morning there was also a lot of traffic noise for around an hour, and then it went quiet again. I didn't notice this on any of the other mornings so perhaps it was garbage day? Overall, given the location, it was very quiet inside the room.

Lovely staff 10/10 for customer service , the cleaning lady was really nice, kept the room serviced daily very close & a short walk to shops,supermarket hotels etc and a short drive to some lovely beaches, nice quiet spaces to sit and have a quiet drink or a read in the sun, indoor pool , plenty of onsite parking Good restaurant, nice meals ,tea & coffee & jug/fridge in the room , hotel has a gaming room onsite The location for us was perfect, we'd stay here again.

This is only a 3 star hotel and the room reflected that but otherwise it ticked all of our boxes

Was a quite big room and was definitely enough for a cot or fold up for a child. Although it’s not all new it was clean and tidy.

The bed was maybe a bit firm, perhaps needed a pillow top/memory foam layer and the pillow was either too thin or too much with two but that’s just a personal thing. My home is quiet so I had a little problem with the road noise of the highway outside the window, but it didn’t wake me up.

Nice spacious room with a comfy bed. Good location for where we had to be. Was a bonus having a restaurant on the premises. The grounds are very picturesque. We'd stay here again.

We booked a Queen spa room and it looked like a corner, 2 person spa in the photos, but it was really only for one as the corner was solid. The room could do with a refresh, it's a bit tired and where our room was located, was quite noisy in the mornings as it was close to the cleaner's storage and they were chatting loudly outside in the corridor/tunnel, which was not ideal after 2 late nights...I did mention it to the staff at checkout though.
