Wonderful view from the Premium Harbour View room we were upgraded to due to the winter closure period. Location in Strahan was great and check in/out was very easy and quick.

Rooms were at the furthest end of the wing from the lift and with two elderly family members both with mobility issues did cause some concern. Wasn't aware that the restaurant on site was closed for winter (not mentioned on website or anywhere else - only at check in) however other options close by were available.

We stayed for 3 nights. The room was good but very little ventilation and it was hot! A fan was provided but didn't do much. The room was comfortable. Good - bed, pillows, bathroom. No overhead lights and view was below road surface. View 42 restaurant was lovely - $30 buffet breakfast with unbelievable view of harbour. Good place for a drink too. For sustainability reasons room cleaned every second day - spend the money on decent lights and a ceiling fan as such a waste. Having an EV the free charger was good.

No ventilation in room. A ceiling fan and light would have made a big difference. Staff at reception so so - perhaps some training would help

Great view. Great location. Walked the foreshore - a must if you stay more than just overnight - rich history to be found enroute to the train terminus. Lovely cafe at the end. Loved watching the local ducks and ducklings going about their feeding rituals and only interrupted by the local dog walkers, but not the local walkers! A lovely balcony to watch the world go by whilst having a morning coffee or an afternoon drink .Two fantastic cruise companies leave from across the road, one is local so check them out.

Room location on Booking Site didn't match room location but still OK. Site above busy shops but not a problem when we visited as not in peak season. Would have been very helpful if the Village had advertised that was an onsite laundry as this is extremely helpful for anyone travelling for a couple of weeks particularly on the west coast.

We arrived in Strahan on our motorbike at 12pm, being 1st time travellers of Tasmania had a let’s just relax and enjoy the ride attitude. After coffee break we we went to Strahan Village check in to see where we were staying, let them know we had arrived and were told room not ready (understandable) we were early so happy to enjoy the area. Upon check in time at 2pm we were told still the room not ready. We were offered a seat on the lounge (fine) in that time a gentleman came in off the road and got a room (in the same area as us, the Lyall wing) whilst we sat and waited further! After approaching them again we were offered x2 free drinks at the near by cafe whilst we waited . I understand late checkins and rooms not being ready on time but my issue was….. they knew we were there early, why not tell cleaning staff to clean such room 1st as these guests are here already? And…. To have someone off the road check straight in? I am a very easy to please kind of person and don’t complain much but this got me thinking 🤔 the rooms are very basic for price but clean and roomy. The queen bed sunk in the middle so my husband slept in the single bed (thankfully there was a spare bed) and I slept sideways in the bed! Loved Strahan but accommodation not the best for price sorry 😞

Wow ! of all our Tassie accomodation for this trip Strahan Village was by far our favourite. We stayed in a ground floor King room with harbour view. Sunset drinks on our verandah over looking the harbour with stunning sunset views just perfect.The room was quiet with ample space, well positioned fridge / kettle nook, decent sized coffe cups. Bed and pillows comfortable. The bathroom was modern and has heated towel racks!!! . Shampoo, conditioner and liquid shower soap provided in pump bottles. View 42 restauarant buffet was exceptional with a large variety, the bar lounge area has great views for all to enjoy. There is a walkway and stairs down to the esplande which was ok for us but coming back up maybe difficult for some.

Guest laundry, there is only one wahser / dryer at the top of the hill accomodation, giving the size of the accomodation they should have at least two washer / dryers.

we were given a free upgrade to an executive suit which was Newley renovated with a balcony (balcony needed reno) which had a stunning view of the river. The room was beautifully renovated and modern, very stylish and comfortable. the bar restaurant area and the out door sitting areas were beautiful with a very relaxed lux vibe. I would love to have stayed an extra night because it was so nice. its a beautiful little town to visit but not a lot to do other than a walk to a waterfall and to go on the Gordon river cruise which we really enjoyed. There are a couple of other attractions to see which were along the Warf, so 2 days was enough for us to see it all. Its a very pretty town.

would have been nice to have a toaster in the room but being more upper market room, i get why there wasn't one there.

Such a relaxing stay! Massive room, very comfortable beds and pillows. Bathroom amenities supplied (soap/shampoo/conditioner dispenser), tea/coffee facilities and bar fridge. Lots of lighting and power outlets! Very handy laundry on premises and close to activities offered in the area. Lots of things to explore - rainforest walk and waterfall, Wilderness train ride, Gordon River cruises and the excellent 'Ship That Never Was' play running each night!

Room did get a bit stuffy and one small fan was provided in lounge, would be great to have another fan in smaller bedroom to help with air circulation.

Views from the balcony are sensational. Lovely to have somewhere to sit and breathe in the view of Macquarie Harbour, morning and at end of day, and view the Strahan harbour comings and goings. Good secure parking. Fresh well thought out recently renovated room.

I feel the ”village” aspect needs more explanation upfront on the booking.com entry. We were initially confused about the choice of rooms and what we were booking. It took a while and reading lots of reviews and visiting the website to try and decipher the types of accommodation on offer. It’s not hard - there is a modern complex up the hill with the views and recent renovation (where we eventually stayed). Behind are what looks very old motel style accommodation. On the waterfront are some old townhouse style buildings which hold the older style unrenovated rooms. But a paragraph of explanation and including a map in the photos (like they provide on checkin) would have saved a lot of our time puzzling it out.

We spent two nights in the village. There primarily to do the Wilderness Train journey and the World Heritage Cruise up the Gordon River as I am sure most people are. You arrive at reception and are then directed to whichever property you are staying in. Ours was above the shops in the main street, looking out across the bay. It was an older style room with a small balcony. A reasonable size with a comfortable bed, plenty of hot water and the WiFi was good. We were warmly greeted on check in and given directions on where to park and how to get to our room. We are in our 70’s so my next comments are specifically for us. A younger clientele would have no problems. Parking for these units, and others close by, is at the base of a ramp with the rooms being a short walk up. The ramp is on an incline so if you have heavy luggage or have mobility issues you need to be aware of this. We don’t have mobility issues but we did have a couple of heavy things to carry up. I don’t give this information as a criticism but simply for people to be aware of it. The accommodation is within walking distance to the shops and restaurants and driving distance to a supermarket although I walked it in about 15 minutes. It is ideally suited for the Gordon River Cruises with their departure point just across the road and is about a 5 minute drive to the train station. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Walk up to room.

My initial room had a great view and was on the esplanade front, it had everything I needed for my stay but was a little dated. Due to some work going on to the balcony next door which was very loud the hotel moved me to a room up the hill. This was much more modern and had a beautiful view over the whole harbour. The lounge adjacent to the rooms up the hill was lovely, staff were very accommodating and friendly.

It would have been nice to be informed about the work taking place next door to my room from the outset rather then having to raise concerns about it. Minor though as I was out for the majority of my time and missed the most of the noise/smell.
