Location, location, location, convenience, consideration, bed comfort and pleasant, caring manner of check-in staff -all of these factors were excellent. So many food/dining options within easy walking distance, enable guests to choose an option that suits them at the time with no real inconvenience.- whether you dine on the excellent meals next door at the hotel, pick up fish and chips or pizza, or ready made light options opposite the hotel or buy microwave meal options from Woolworths across the road. .

Not a negative just a tip:- Preplanning your approach so you turn left into the Shannon Motor Inn driveway is a suggestion, to facilitate extra safety. It is possible to turn right off Shannon Avenue into the Shannon Motor Inn - we have done so many times over the years, but as the person planning the trip I aways feel I should have planned the approach from the opposite direction.

Room was exceptionally large as far as motel rooms go. Toilet is separate to the bathroom which is a bonus (especially if you're sharing the room with someone else). Bed was huge and very comfortable. Room was super clean and tidy. Bar fridge was icy cold and not noisy at all. TV had Netflix and other streaming apps as well. You can park your car directly outside your room which is super handy when unloading and reloading your luggage. I was in a room that had quite a large spa bath. I didn't use the spa bath but I'm sure it would have worked fine. My room had a two seater couch as well as a small dining table with two chairs. Overall this is a fabulous "old school" motel that's in a central location. And as an extra bonus, the motel is located directly across the road from a Woolworths and there's a drive-through bottle shop right next door. What more could you want?! :)

Shower head (in the spa bath) could have been better. It's probably time to upgrade it. But that's only a small thing and doesn't really detract from the overall quality of the room.

The room is spacious and clean. The amenities provided are convenient, and practical. The bed is nice and comfortable to sleep on with extra pillow to help to be more comfortable and at ease. The room is well maintained and looked after. It's location is superb, central to almost everything which can just be a walking distance to shops and supermarkets. We recommend this hotel to those who are looking for value for money.

We were not able to park our car just in front of our rooms. But this is minor. We were still able to get to our car, reasonably. However, in one of the rooms we booked, the microwave was not working.

Nice, friendly room. Friendly staff, parking was available, all in total very happy with the stay. :)

Toilet area was clean but still smelled like urine. probably not convenient to have a brick wall next to the toilet, hard to clean thoroughly.

My friend has some mobility issues and uses a walker. Ground floor rooms with minimal obstructions was great. Comfy beds, a good old fashioned motel. Just what was needed. Caught a taxi to the footy, a great weekend.

Great location and quiet. The room was clean and well presented. Water pressure in the shower was on point!!!!

The bed wasn’t overly comfortable and the room very dark, with only one ceiling light that was of a low wattage.

The staff were friendly & helpful. They provided the extras that we needed. They are generous in many ways (eg extra cups in the fridge, toiletries, face towels & cookies). The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The place was quiet though located next to the road. The toilet and the bath were separated with separate doors. The place is really clean.

The portable heater did not work very well so the bedroom was kind of cold. The bathroom floor was cold & so was the dining area floor as it was not carpeted.

The price was good, the room was clean. Great shower!

Some may not appreciate the smokers spot being right outside the bedroom door. Also there was an overpowering use of room scent.

. The bed was very comfortable and had nice sheets and good pillows. The shower has plenty of space and hot water. The room has a microwave, toaster and kettle, allowing to have breakfast and microwave meals at night. The room is well maintained and serviced daily keeping the room clean and has a reversecycleairconditioning. The rear rooms were quiet at night and allowed a great sleep. Having a separate couch and good sized TV makes the room relaxing at night. The bath towels are very nice quality.

The bathroom is quite old and the shower head is at the wrong end near the wall opening with a shower curtain and leaks onto the floor. The vanity is small and not much space to place toiletries. The unit feels a bit cold as it is exposed brick and no seals on the entry door.

There are many great aspects to Shannon Motor Inn -Value, Location, Consideration, Comfort, Cleanliness, Convenience, Attractive furnishings, Comradery. Value-well priced; Location-Food options -nearby Hotel, and Bistro. Short walk Fish and Chips, Pizza or Convenience store. BBQ available. Consideration-willingness to respond to achievable requests; Comfort-beds, option of blankets or doona; Cleanliness- excellent- cleaning staff wearing masks; Convenience-short drive to Central Geelong, Geelong Beach or Geelong North Station for those wanting a day in Melbourne. Attractive furnishings-similar to those in upmarket City Hotels, comfortable lounge chairs. Comradery- the U-shaped layout of the building and seating outside each unit. Although provided for smokers it also provides the opportunity to sit outside with a coffee and interact with other guests if desired.

My fault entirely. I forgot to check. I need a reminder to check whether the window has been left open to air the room. When it is open it is hidden by the curtain, but cools the room.
