The staff were friendly and efficient (didn't expect towel changes on day 2, so that was a nice surprise). The location was conveniently right behind the main street - we even walked to one of our favourite wineries on the second day, using the old rail line footpath that's been built. Photo shows the view from the terrace of the nearby Convent Brewery.

The interiors were nothing fancy, but it was comfortable and clean, and we had everything we needed. A bit more ventilation in the room would be appreciated (maybe a window that can open in the nicely large bathroom?), as it could be a bit stuffy as it was an unusually warm weekend.

The staff were lovely. Very friendly and helpful. The room we had was fine for us as a couple. The hotel was close to Rutherglen cafes etc. and the town was charming.

The only criticism I have is that the pillows were uncomfortable (2 were provided for each guest). I do realise though that this is a personal thing and other people may not have issues with them as I did. Everything else was fine.

The location was fabulous, short walk to restaurants. Kerry and Greg (owners) were very friendly, very helpful and courteous. The facilities in the room catered for all tastes. Owners were very thoughtful ie No sachet coffee but a jar of premium coffee. A jug to fill kettle up. Foxtel tv channels. Large shower with plenty of pressure. The bed was very comfortable, the unit was lovely and quiet and thus easy to sleep in. Easy access, to shops, parks, & golf course. Finaly, the unit was lovely and clean in fact spotless. Excellent value

We liked everything, about Poachers Paradise.

It is a very well presented, spotlessly clean unit. The recent addition of fly screen doors gives the option of fresh air to the unit, while still enjoying privacy. Parking at the door, nice well tended BBQ area, with shade and outdoor furniture, extra tables and chairs also on a lawned area. Great location, a short walk through a laneway to Main Street. Smooth check in and owners on hand to answer any queries.

We've stayed here a number of times and for the rate charged, presentation of the room and the pleasant staff we have no complaints.

We have stayed here multiple times and the owners are really friendly and accommodating! We do an annual trip to Rutherglen and this is our go to accommodation!

The sofa bed was a little uncomfortable but I guess that’s also to be expected from a sofa bed

It went above and beyond expectations. It was clean and the little touches like the provisions for showering, recommendations on where to go locally, were all fabulous. The bathroom in our room was huge btw! So comfortable! And the owners were so friendly.

Nothing - it’s a gem!

The room was a very good size. Plenty of space to sit or snack. The en-suite was large with plenty of space for my wife and I to have all our toiletries.The shower was great with lots of hot water. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The location of the motel was great backing onto a hotel which was on the main street. The motel was also only a short walk to many places to eat.

No really a motel problem, but staying on a Monday night was not great with respect to the number of restaurants open. Parking was readily available, but our allocated spot was in front of the adjacent unit. Not a big issue, but just a little strange.

The location was excellent- very convenient to town. The room and bathroom was very clean and fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was easy to find and there were nice cafes nearby.

There was everything we needed, so nothing we did not like.

Very central location in Rutherglen. It's an a short walk to restaurants, cafes and shops. Good facilities in the spacious room (plates, tea/coffee, microwave, kettle). Good size TV with Foxtel.

Rutherglen can get cold overnight in late May and the bathroom was chilly first thing in the morning! The main room was however well served by reverse cycle heating.

Excellent location in the heart of town. Walking distance to cafes and restaurants. The location is quiet.

Room was hot and stuffy. Air conditioning not particularly effective. The refrigerator was noisy.
