Location: easy to get to from the train station by bus and back again. Short stroll into the centre of Bruges along the river or you can pick up the bus if walking isn't your thing. The area was very quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist area. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, however they no longer have a reception, you book in at the Jacob hotel opposite which is where breakfast is served. Breakfast is buffet style and has something for everyone. The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. He marked on the map some of the best places to visit and where everything was in location to the hotel. The room was comfortable and very clean. The TV picks up lots of channels if you fancy resting your legs for an hour or two, we managed to catch a couple of the women's euro games.

Over use of air freshener in the reception of the hotel (not The Jacob). It was very potent, to the extent that you could smell it in the room. This may not be an issue for most people but if you have an allergy or asthma it may be worth booking a room at The Jacob over the road as it didn't smell over there.

We were three of us and we got not a room, but rather a small two.storey apartman. On the top werer the bedroom, on the bottom the rest room and a living room. The mattress firmness was the type what I like, not the usual soft one. I slept very well. The room was quite, looking for an inner garden.

The toilet bowl was high. Do not laugh, nor my wife's nor my daughter's foot could touch the ground. Mine could only with my tiptoes. The TV had hundreds of channels, but only ONE was watchable, because all the others were coded. I am not a TV fan, but I was wondering, why it is there if there is only one channel to watch? The breakfast was good, but it was served in another building, on the other side of the street. Not a big thing, though.

I knew I rented the 3rd floor walk- up ( no elevator) on that hot summer day. The room was very clean and the open large skylight provided lovely ventilation. There was also a quiet AC system we used at night. We stayed one night. The neighborhood was quiet. A 15 minute walk to Brugge Center. Bus stop 5 minute walk that took us to the train station The staff was friendly and glad we were able to leave our luggage in a lock storage room before check in. Breakfast was very good. Overall, a very good value.

If I stayed more than one night, I would stay on the second floor.

Staff were lovely, very helpful. We were not aware beforehand that the breakfast room was in the hotel over the road (Hotel Jacobs), but this was not an issue. Small bar where we had drinks, which was nice. Nice and clean. Bathroom good. Parking was brilliant and reasonable price.

No lift, although we knew that before we arrived. No tea and coffee tray!! Again we knew this so took our own kettle, but we do really expect that as part of the room. Two single beds pushed together, we were expecting a king bed. Again not particularly a problem, but not what we expected.

The hotel is very stylish and full of history. You may even feel yourself in a museum. Not to mention perfect location and nice views from the windows. The staff is very friendly and attentive and helpful. The room is quite modest yet there is practically everything one needs for a quiet stay. The rules in the hotel are fair and clear. The facility is very clean, they make cleaning every day. I liked the breakfast and especially the breakfast room. There is a supermarket nearby, very helpful. Can't thank the hosts enough for my perfect stay and dipping into the history. I felt like I visited a family or relatives, very cozy and more than satisfied. Great place!

I lived on the very top, and the staircase requires some effort to climb up. The mattress seemed to me a bit too hard, but it's just I'm used to a softer one.

I was alone in a 3 Bed Room, considering that, the price was still okay for Bruegge and the short termed booking. Very friendly host at the reception, who gave me a map and marked important points and streets for me. Nicely located, near the centrum, everything can be reached pretty fast by foot. TV in room.

I was alone in a three Person room, otherwise it can get a bit crowded, since the room is not very big. For me the towels smelled a bit, but it's maybe a personal thing. There was no washing gel in the shower spender, really no big deal, but it should always be checked. A small fridge would be great, also because it can get warm in the room.

Really liked the location, in a great spot for exploring.. but away from the crowds and nice and quiet. Rooms were nice & clean and reception staff were nice and friendly. I would re-visit! Breakfast variety was great too.

Although we loved the breakfast, one of the mornings the fresh bread didn’t get put out until around 8:30 & we were nearly done with our breakfast, this would have been appreciated ready for when breakfast opens.

The breakfast offered delightful quality, and if I may make a personal suggestion, indulge in the omelette with ham and cheese—it's simply incredible! Situated in a spectacular location, the hotel is a mere 10-minute stroll from Bruge's city center. The neighborhood exudes tranquility, offering a relaxing ambiance, and the charming church facing the hotel is an absolute must-visit. The room was impeccably clean and comfortable, providing a cozy retreat. Moreover, the staff exhibited magnificence in their service. Their warmth and hospitality were truly commendable, creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout the stay. I'm thrilled to have chosen this hotel and would gladly return for another stay if I find myself back in Bruges in the future.

On occasion, the warmth of the shower water was not consistent, leaning towards tepid rather than comfortably warm. This minor inconsistency was the only aspect that I can say I didn't fully appreciate during my stay.

Location was peaceful. Receptionist was really nice. Cozy room.

No message that check in was in a different hotel across the hotel. I waited for so long at the reception because wasnt able to read the sign at the door about that because the door was open when I arrived and the post at the door was not really obvious and why would i think of reading the door? Hahaha maybe it's just me but a little notice thru email/message at this app would help. Also, no elevator 🤣

A wonderfully friendly, family-run, comfortable hotel only 10 mins walk from the central market square in Bruges. A great selection for breakfast including a hot choice and UK teabags! Secure parking is available at a reasonable cost, only very slight downside is no lift - but several flights of stairs certainly keeps you fit! The owner was extremely helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We visited in December and the dining room Christmas decorations must be seen to be believed, amazing - but if you like minimalist decoration in the public areas, this is not the place for you - however the bedrooms are plainly decorated, clean and very comfortable.

Lots of stairs - but they kept us fit!
