We both particularly loved the decor in this hotel: the room was really tastefully designed, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Our room had a great view over the canal. The hotel bar is lovely and a great place to relax before bed. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and gave us loads of great ideas about where to go in the city. We loved the delicious breakfast. The location is also spot on - it's not on a stretch of the canal that gets all the tourist boats going past, so it's nice and quiet, but it really is only a stone's throw away from all the great places to visit. We had the most magical stay at this medieval hotel in Bruges. Our room was on the top floor, with beautiful exposed beams and an antique charm that made us feel like we were living in a fairy tale castle. Everything was simply perfect – from the cozy and well-kept room to the enchanting atmosphere throughout the hotel. One of the highlights was the breakfast – it was absolutely delicious and served in a charming basement or wine cellar that overlooked the canal. Watching the swans glide by as we sipped our coffee was like something out of a storybook. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding to the warm and memorable experience. We had originally planned to visit Brussels for a few days, but the city of Bruges and this wonderful hotel completely stole our hearts – we ended up staying here the entire time. Without a doubt, this is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. Truly unforgettable!

Location was great, walking to Market Square takes 7-8 minutes. Hotel was built right next to the canal, away from the hustle bustle of the Market Square, with an old world charm. Breakfast was in a cosy setup with window facing canal. A very good selection for buffet breakfast that can definitely fuel you up for the day! Helpful and friendly staff who is often there to assist.

The toiletries provided was too exotic with a strong musky smell, which covered the room when entered. With someone like me that have a sensitive nose, it was too strong & stifling, almost can’t breathe.

Absolutely loved this hotel and the the history of it. Dated back to 1500’s. Original features and lots of character. Location was fantastic - 10 minute walk to the main square at a relaxed pace. Hotel itself very peaceful. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing. So much choice - breads, rolls, croissants, pastries, waffles, pancakes, cereals, fruit, smoked salmon, cheeses and ham and also cooked breakfast - scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns and beans. To drink - juices, variety of teas, coffees and hot chocolate as well as cava. Nice little garden area to chill after a busy day sightseeing as well as nice little bar area. Effective air conditioning. We were a group of 6, 4 of us stayed for 4 nights and 2 for 2 nights. All rooms were lovely and each was unique. Highly recommend. Would stay here again.

Nothing personally. Just to be aware some of the room styles only have shower heads attached to bath and are not walk in showers due to the old style building. So they do not hang over bath either and no shower screen so might be tricky for some. Also no lift again due to the same reasons so if walking up stairs is problematic for those with mobility issues request ground floor room.

Quaint hotel with period features and decor. Lovely quiet canalside location. 5 mins walk from centre. Clean spacious room with air con. Decent breakfast.

Mainly bathroom issues. Superior rooms only had baths and no showers. lower floor had issue with water backing up which led to change of room. Both rooms had missing fittings, bath plinths and cracked tiles. Baths not the cleanest either. Limited space for drying towels or even hanging up or laying out your cosmetics, toothbrush, shaver etc.

I booked two rooms for myself and family. They were spacious with a coffee machine, toiletries and everything you need. The staff make it so friendly and they all speak many languages. They ant do enough for you. Breakfast is lovely, lots of choice and the building being so old makes it a memorable experience. The location is just perfect and we enjoyed meandering around many different areas which we really enjoyed.

It's not so much what I didn't like but for me personally, I struggled to sleep well. There was a little road noise at times despite it being in a quiet area. It's an old building so I do also appreciate that the windows were thin. The pillows were not very comfortable and with having a bad back at times the mattress was for me a little too soft. However, it didn't affect my trip and I know it's only a little thing. I struggle to sleep well anywhere I go unfortunately, but it certainly would not put me off coming back again.

Lovely, traditional property which is close to the centre (8min walk) but far enough away from the busy tourist areas. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Nice little touches as well like the bag of cookies when you check out.

Although we booked the property because it was old and had character, we didn’t really think about how that might impact the stay. Our bedroom was underneath one of the staircases so you could hear every single person that walked down the stairs and it was really loud. Thankfully, we were staying mid week and it was quiet but I think if you were to stay on a busy weekend, you might get woken up by other guests if you were in certain rooms.

Charming hotel with friendly staff, in a very good location.

The room was poorly lit, with only a few small wall sconces - it would have been good to have had at least one floor or ceiling lamp to give adequate light. Also, the room had been heavily sprayed with a scented product that caused us severe nasal irritation. Opening the windows and the room door for a couple of hours eventually cleared most of the odour, and the staff were very apologetic and immediately sent a message to housekeeping not to spray the room again while we were staying.

This is a magical place. The hotel is located beautifully alongside one of the canals in a quiet part of the city, yet very close to the center and all the sights. Entering the hotel, you feel like visiting elegant friends. Everyone at the reception is very friendly and speaks four languages. Our room faced the water and was beautifully designed. The house is 500 years old and the windows as well as the walls are not sound proof, but the design is elegant and old-fashioned in a stylish way. There is a coffee maker and a water heater in the room. Beds are comfy. Breakfast is an experience as the breakfast hall is on water-level and the buffet offers everything in a very tidy manner.

Almost everything. The room was really nice and comfortable with an amazing view.

The staff. Not all of them. The receptionist was very kind and polite but the woman at the breakfast area was so rude i couldn’t believe she was working in such a lovely hotel. She charged my child ( 11 years old ) for one tiny croissant the amount for a full breakfast . Can you believe it? we paid for breakfast for all the previous days we stayed there except the last one when we were leaving at 8am and they had the audacity to charge a child for 1 croissant the price of a whole breakfast after we paid so much for 1 week. That was really disappointing…
