The marketing of the room indicated that it is sound proof. During our stay we experienced the value of that when there was partying close by to the early hours of the morning. The breakfast was excellent and beyond expectations. The location was close to all activities and sights.

When the one lift was not working and we considered using the stairs, we opened the doorway to emergency stairs that we knew do not reach the bottom. This need to receive urgent attention for the sake of everybody's safety. The slanted ceilings in the specific room that we occupied made the room feel a bit cramped. It was not only from one side, but from two sides. In the end we managed.

Hotel is lovely and we have stayed there previously - we took a taxi from the train station (cost c 15 euros). Very central - less than 5 mins to main square - really nice wine bar just down the street (Blend) and a Trappist bar (with dozens of beer types) just across the road from the hotel, the Rembrant bar / restaurant on the way to the square is a good choice for a drink on the way back to the hotel. There's a water dispenser downstairs which was great to have in the heat. Excellent breakfast, including cooked dishes, with an outdoor seating area - the reception, bar, breakfast room are beautifully decorated

Some minor things - our room had a sloped roof and that side of the bed was hard to access, the first morning at breakfast we had to put with an influencer using the breakfast room to post whatever she does, there is a nightclub or very late bar close by but didn't impact on our sleep.

Fantastic location very close to the heart of the Bruges city center. I was concerned about our inability to control the air conditioning in our room, but it was very comfortable and we had no issues with it.

Breakfast looked nice, but was not included and fairly expensive so we didn't eat it. When we arrived nobody was at the front desk and after ringing the bell a few times we finally called someone on the intercom and they had someone there in a few minutes. Minor inconvenience. The stairs going up to our room were extremely steep, but we made it work and there is an elevator available for those who prefer it.

The Hotel du Theatre is a very clean, comfortable and friendly hotel, which is seems to be aimed towards a clientele wanting a quieter experience. There is a "no noise after 22:00" rule, which is necessary as there does not seem to be much sound insulation between the rooms. The breakfast is fairly basic but very good, although I didn't have the nerve to try the mushrooms. The scrambled eggs were near perfect, though. The location could not be more central and there are plenty of museums, galleries, shops, bars, and restaurants within a very short walk. My only real complaint is that the bedside tables were incredibly small, to the point where you could have your phone or a glass of water but not both unless you're willing to risk a disaster.

I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel—it’s all about the details here. I was pleasantly surprised to have a room on the ground floor, and it didn’t feel unusual at all. I appreciate a truly comfortable sleep, and the soundproofing in this location is absolutely perfect. The bed, mattress, pillows, and linens were all exceptional, making for a wonderfully restful experience. The location was great, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Thank you, and I highly recommend this place!

Surprisingly, the hotel did not have a single sewing kit available. It would also be great if the glasses near the vending machine were not placed on a dusty shelf. Before using them, there is no real opportunity to wash them properly, especially if you’re in the lobby and would like to enjoy a drink there rather than in your room.

Excellent, modern and spacious room for a family of four. Beds were very comfortable and the shower was great after a day of exploring! Wonderful reception who made check-in, checkout very easy and helped us with all our requests. The hotel was very close to from the main hustle and bustle of the squares and shopping streets and only a stones throw from the Frietmuseum and Choco Story Would definitely recommend!

The safe box wasn't the most reliable. It was not attached to the wall or the cupboard unit itself, just the shelf which could easily be taken out from the unit

Clean, location right in town, walk to everything, even bus station for day trips, and the most friendly staff I’ve ever encountered! And the most beautiful, forest-like back patio! So relaxing!

Because of the excellent location, it was on a busy street so you heard cars and people, but only because you had to leave the windows open for air. There is no AC because it’s always cool outside. Also, no refrigerator or microwave. They have fans and kettles for hot water that they can loan you.

The room was perfectly clean, and I found the receptionist very kind! The location was just off the main market square so I found this great as a solo female traveller!

The noise was a bit of a problem for me. My room was beside the elevator and it seemed like the door would bang anytime someone else opened their door (maybe a draft causing a vacuum). I also found the noise from the cleaners excessive because it was a lot of banging noises and shouting not just regular cleaning noise like vacuums etc from very early

The hotel was very central, clean and comfortable. Easy check in and out. Having a mini fridge in the room was great, shower was hot with good pressure. Overall a great experience.

Only a small thing, the cream supplied in the room for coffee and tea wasn't very good. It formed lumps in the cup and any amount of stirring couldn't incorporate it. Could have been more coffee, tea bags and better creamer supplied in room. Was only two of each for two people and it wasn't restocked daily.

Best location, 2 min walk from the main square. Room is small, but nice with vintage touch and very comfortable bed. Bathroom is small but with a very good setup, everything is at the right place, shower is large. Lady at the reception was also very polite and helpful. I also liked, that hotel has it's own car garage with large enough spaces for larger cars.

Almost nothing. Rooms could be a bit larger, and I never object if price is a bit lower - perhaps for satisfied returning guests at least ;).
