The Hotel du Theatre is a very clean, comfortable and friendly hotel, which is seems to be aimed towards a clientele wanting a quieter experience. There is a "no noise after 22:00" rule, which is necessary as there does not seem to be much sound insulation between the rooms. The breakfast is fairly basic but very good, although I didn't have the nerve to try the mushrooms. The scrambled eggs were near perfect, though. The location could not be more central and there are plenty of museums, galleries, shops, bars, and restaurants within a very short walk. My only real complaint is that the bedside tables were incredibly small, to the point where you could have your phone or a glass of water but not both unless you're willing to risk a disaster.

I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel—it’s all about the details here. I was pleasantly surprised to have a room on the ground floor, and it didn’t feel unusual at all. I appreciate a truly comfortable sleep, and the soundproofing in this location is absolutely perfect. The bed, mattress, pillows, and linens were all exceptional, making for a wonderfully restful experience. The location was great, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Thank you, and I highly recommend this place!

Surprisingly, the hotel did not have a single sewing kit available. It would also be great if the glasses near the vending machine were not placed on a dusty shelf. Before using them, there is no real opportunity to wash them properly, especially if you’re in the lobby and would like to enjoy a drink there rather than in your room.

Excellent, modern and spacious room for a family of four. Beds were very comfortable and the shower was great after a day of exploring! Wonderful reception who made check-in, checkout very easy and helped us with all our requests. The hotel was very close to from the main hustle and bustle of the squares and shopping streets and only a stones throw from the Frietmuseum and Choco Story Would definitely recommend!

The safe box wasn't the most reliable. It was not attached to the wall or the cupboard unit itself, just the shelf which could easily be taken out from the unit

The room was perfectly clean, and I found the receptionist very kind! The location was just off the main market square so I found this great as a solo female traveller!

The noise was a bit of a problem for me. My room was beside the elevator and it seemed like the door would bang anytime someone else opened their door (maybe a draft causing a vacuum). I also found the noise from the cleaners excessive because it was a lot of banging noises and shouting not just regular cleaning noise like vacuums etc from very early

We paid a budget price but got way more than we expected. The building’s exterior and interior were lovely. The location was perfect - we were going to stay near the station given Bruges is only 20mins walk across but this location allowed us to nip back for coats within 5mins from the main sites, or nip to the supermarket a few mins away and put stuff in the fridge in the room. And the 2 girls we spoke too were super helpful and friendly. Bruges seems to close at 6pm, everybody just disappears and lots of bars and restaurants close (we went first week of March) which was a bit odd. The first night we got drunk in an empty place. The second night we found a lovely little art house cinema on the next street - Lumiere - and watched Dune 2.

To be super picky, the en-suite door didn’t close to seal the room fully, it slid across and left a small gap. Not a broken door but a flaw in the design. So we put music on when I nipped to the loo, haha! There was also a humming sound coming from somewhere in the dead of night - onnnnn / off / onnnnn / off - the same pattern over and over. It was really quiet and could only be heard in the middle of the night when everything was still. It wasn’t intrusive but I just noticed it on waking in the night. We put music on quietly the 2nd night though just to sound it out. We still gave 9/10.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It offers good value for the price, affordable without compromising on basic quality. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was well-maintained, and the shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The towels were also nice. The only small downside was that the lotion dispenser was empty. Not a big issue though. For a solo one-night stay, it was a good choice. The location is convenient, the staff is friendly, and the street is quiet. Overall, a positive experience.

The location of the hotel is perfect! Just a few blocks away from all the attractions. Really convenient. Loads of restaurants and cafes around. The room was small but comfortable, the bathroom was big and clean. Heating worked perfectly.

The only thing I didn’t like was that they ask to take a picture of the credit card next to the passport for the deposit. They really should make a charge and hold it, rather than taking a picture, given all the scams that are happening. I asked them to make the holding deposit instead.

The hotel is in an ideal location in the historic center of Bruges. Buses 1 & 2 from the station stop nearby. All staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was varied and food was quickly replenished. It was nice to be able to eat breakfast outside in the small courtyard.

With the aircon off the room was very hot and the window barely opened. With it on the room became too cold as there was no temperature control on it meaning we had to get up to switch it on and off during the night. It was also annoying that the lounge was locked from 9.00 in the evening leaving nowhere to sit and talk to friends.

We had a twin room which was a decent size, tastefully decorated and good value for money. The location was perfect being only 5 minutes walk from the 2 main squares, canals/ boat ride starting point, restaurants, museums, bars and chocolate shops. Even the furthest location we had planned to visit was within 20 minutes walk. Yet it was a quiet location. There was a comprehensive and plentiful breakfast buffet which was frequently topped up. The hotel also had a stylish small bar plus a drinks and snack machine and water cooler available 24/7. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome.

For the price there is nothing we could fault with our stay.

Hotel was well located. Good choice for brekkie. Nicely decorated hotel. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Not the hotels fault but some people were quite loud when going to their room and the walls seemed very thin. We could also hear what we think was a child having a bath in the room above us. We also kept waking up hot even though the heater was off - worked out the towel rail in bathroom was on and making room hot. The room was fairly small so didn’t take much to heat it up!
