Great hotel! After an initial mix-up with the rooms on check-in, we were quickly shown to our correct room, which was superb! The room was much bigger than expected, with an enormous fireplace and large bathroom. The bed was huge and very comfortable. I often struggle with hotel pillows but the bedding was great. The bathroom was long but not narrow, with plenty of space. The location was excellent; just a couple of minutes' walk from the Grote Markt. I'd definitely stay here again when I return to Brugge.

The door to the room had to be pushed firmly in order to close it fully. When we woke in the morning after our first night we noticed that the door was ajar as we obviously hadn't pushed it hard enough for the door to catch fully. Once we noticed the problem, we made sure to shut the door properly, but we were conscious that we were almost slamming the door to shut it, which would possibly have been heard by other guests.

Staff were exceedingly helpful and were willing to accommodate any requests that we had. Breakfast was incredible and the lady who handles it get an A+ grade. Loved the feel of the ancient house and the place couldn't be any more conveniently located to the center of town.

Our room didn't have a shower, just a bathtub with a handheld shower head, but not surprising for a 500 year old building if you think about it. It forces you to take a soak in the tub, but I have to say, it was the best bath I have had in years! Perfect hot water temperatures and a nice large tub to sink into. I thought I would be just a few minutes and ended up spending over an hour just relaxing.

The location was great, right near everything. Breakfast in the morning was terrific, eggs made to order, fresh breads, meats, cheeses, yogurt, juices, coffee. Delphine was a stand out for us, she was so nice and helpful. We asked to be moved from our first night rooms and were given rooms on the first floor that were clean and comfortable.

We arrived later in the day and were given the last two rooms, rooms 7 and 8 in the oldest part of the hotel. The steps were steep, spiral and old. Think like built in the Viking era old, literally. Those rooms were also very old and not very desirable for a stay in my opinion. Extremely difficult for older folks with luggage.

It was really central to Bruges. Easy walk to the town centre. The room was comfortable. We had a family room on the ground floor which was actually a disabled room. The shower was very big but the floor tended to flood as shower not enclosed. Breakfast perfectly adequate, buffet with bread and cold cuts and juices and coffee with an egg cooked to order. For me the thing I will never forget is the mother and daughter who greeted us on arrival ( sorry I didn’t get your names) they were quite possibly the loveliest kindest hotel managers I have ever met in all my years of travelling. Parking in Bruges is a big issue, roads and car parks are designed for tiny cars. My rental car is quite a big family saloon. The car would not fit into the carpark ( it was too wide to get through the entrance. They did not stop until they found a solution and parked the car for me. I was so grateful.

The property was great. We enjoyed our stay.

Super accommodation. We were allocated a large ground floor room with a large bathroom. The room with en suite was clean and well equipped. Clean soft towels daily, as well as toiletries topped up daily. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Lovely full-length mirror for dressing and doing make-up. TV, hairdryer, heating. Lovely big shower with good water pressure and lovely warm water. The room was comfortably warm. Superb breakfast with eggs made to order. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. All in all, a fantastic stay!

The lighting was a bit dim, and two of the spotlights were intermittent, not always coming on, which we suspect is a wiring issue.

A gem right in the middle of Bruges. In an ancient building but very tastefully and discreetly converted with quirky rooms dictated by the floor layout. Nothing of the uniform "bathroom on the left" of the chain hotels and all the better for it. Delicious breakfast either in an enclosed courtyard or in the beautiful former "salon" of the house, decorated in the 18thC style. Helpfull recommendation for a restaurant close by and pre-booked underground parking a short walk from the hotel (beware the overzealous traffic police). An absolute gem and a happy accident to discover it.

My perennial beef is the qualityof the orange juice at breakfast. I would willingly pay more for the room/ breakfast to have fresh orange juice. Other than this (minor) criticism, it was a perfect staty. When again in Bruges we shall return.

Staff were amazing, such a beautiful, warm, and effusive welcome. Always looking out for us and asking after our day. Amazing breakfast, so fresh and yummy. Again, staff were flat out but always calling out, offering to help everyone and imparting wisdom about Brugge. Room and bathroom were very spacious, lots of floor area in our quad room. Very clean throughout. Town market square, pubs, laundromat, restaurants, shopping all 150 metres up the road. Late night restaurant next door at the cinema. Easy to find our street when on the market square, look for the shop with the bright red door.

Everything was amazing. Spiral staircase was a challenge for some of our group, but the back stairs were straight, which was very helpful. We were heavily packed, and felt terrible that our beautiful hostess had to carry our bags up and down the staircase after our feeble attempts failed.

Everything! The lady who I assume is the owner goes above and beyond for her guests. She was absolutely brilliant (so were all the staff). We've just completed a trip of parts of Europe and have stayed in many hotels, and this was by far the best of the whole trip. Would recommend this hotel to anybody! The room was a nice size, and the bathroom was very roomy. It was very clean and it had the extra touches. It was in a great location, we did have trouble sleeping the first night due to loud music from a nearby place but the second night was very quiet and this was a weekend so it may have just been a one off. Have read that others had to stay upstairs with a spiral staircase, but luckily, we had the ground floor, so we didn't have that issue. We felt very welcome and would definitely stay here again.

Couldn't list a single fault.

My stay at Boterhuis was nothing short of perfection; it's situated perfectly in the city so you are in close walking distance to all the best museums, squares and buildings without being too close to the busier areas -- so you can get a decent night's sleep away from the noise of the centre! The breakfast was delicious, and the staff so attentive as they offered to make you any kind of eggs that you wanted, and they even offered to make you tea and coffee if you were already seated! All in all, the Boterhuis is a wonderful hotel and I could not recommend it enough!

We walked from and to the station, and it wasn't as far as we thought. It's very close to the Markt but it's pretty quiet inside. You can hear people walk in the corridor of course but nothing else. Service from all employees we talked too was great, and breakfast offers a lot of options. Room was clean and with decent size (bathroom too). It was really hot outside when we came so we really appreciated the airco. We don't have a dog but we loved that this hotel is welcoming them (we saw 4 but never heard them :)).
