What I liked the most is the location of the Hostel (1 block away from the Ipanema beach), the area is safe and has private security. I also enjoyed a lot all the free tours provided by the hostel and the female tour guides (they were very kind, joyful, and empathetic, especially Carolina Mayumi). The hostel breakfast (not included on the basic price) was very nice and complete, buffet style. The hostel personal was very nice and super well educated.

If anything, the noise coming from the daily parties at night. I think the hostel should still work out on this. I recommend to bring your own earplugs for sleeping.

I don't usually write reviews but they begged me for it, so here it is. Shoutout to some of the friendly workers like Maya, Duda, Gabriela and Viktor. They helped where they could and spoke good English. The price is high for the comfort in the room you get, but you basically pay for the good location and activities. You can tag along with the workers on daily activities, you make good friends along the way with other travellers. This hostel works together with More Ipanema. Overall a good experience but nothing out of the ordinary. I think I will be back one day in Rio!

The staff are fantastic! Especially Gabrielle, Ian and Gustavo. They all will go out their way to help in anyway they can. If you’re a solo traveller this hostel is perfect as there’s lots of free activities and the bar area is a great way to meet people. The rooms are very clean and beds very comfortable. The hostel is situated in a great location. Strongly recommend Ipanema beach hostel to anyone that’s going to Rio!

The hostel had a great vibe. Absolutely friendly staff. Tay was amazing, went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and helped whenever needed. She was my go-to person. I can't speak or understand any portuguese, she helped me book a cab, find my way around, even whenever my room needed a temperature adjustment as I stayed in a 6 women dorm and everyone's needs are different, she managed to make everyone feel welcomed and comfortable. There were two other men that were in the staff too who were wonderful. The location is perfect, I could just walk to the beach less than 1 minute from the hostel. My first day, I joined in on the hike organized by the hostel. It was an excellent experience. Later at night, there was music and drinks where there were so many people you could mix and mingle with. All the events organized by the hostel were free as well, so that came in handy. Overall a great experience. I never felt lonely or unseen. Such a beautiful experience.

Just the shower could've been a little bit bigger. I found it too small and tight.

The staff was incredible and I was really not expecting it. I was greeted with a free Capirinha, the bartenders special, with grenadine - delicious. The all crew was super friendly. I was put into a dorm that was clean and the beds at each outlets and curtains ! I booked this room last minute for only 130BR : crazy deal I only stayed for one night but almost regretted it. Thanks to everyone and sorry if I forgot the bartenders name : you were great !

Honestly, the best place i've ever stayed. Ana, Ketly, Tayane, Gabriel, and the rest of the team are all incredible. Each one of them are super welcoming, friendly, sociable, knowledgable, and basically just all round good people - not to mention they're all pretty much at least fluently tri-lingual which is quite impressive. The hostel hosts free drinks every night which is great incentive for the guests to meet, mingle, get to know each other, become friends, and create additional plans together. They've even got a WhatsApp group for the guests which is a great way for everyone to stay connected. With good food and drinks at the ready. The hostel also is a part of this group and lets the people what's going on at the time. Aside from the free drink night events, they also arrange activities during the days, at no charge.. you just have to cover your own costs. This includes beach events, exploring the city, and seeing some of the best spots in Rio with incredible hikes. You feel safe being in a group, and with a local who knows their stuff. Great content for the gram, while making friends along the way.. It's what holidays are about, isn't it? The room itself was hotel quality (quality air conditioning is a must in this marvellous but very warm city), made up every day, which even included them neatening up and organising my things which was a lovely touch. The property is a easy 30 second walk to the beach, and has good restaurants and shops in close proximity. The only negative thing that comes to mind is that it's too hard to leave and made me change my plans to come back. I will be back for sure, and am already looking forward to it. i stayed one week and i had a really good experience. the ipanema beach hostel it’s an awesome place to make friends and meet people. they have free caipirinhas every evening and day and night activities. the hostel it’s really social and the staff are also super nice. Eduarda, Matheus and Alef are lovely and they will help with anything.

The bedrooms are a bit small and it’s quite hard to keep it clean, but everyone in my room became friends and we did go out together every night :))

Me and my friends travelled here from London to Rio for the first time, the hostel is great fun, really good location and the staff are Amazing. Ian and Cecilia have been brilliant the whole time, so helpful and great vibes. Will definitely be coming back again!

The vibe is great! All the guys working here are doing their best to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable! A lot of activities are organised on a daily basis and are open to everyone, even those not staying in the hostel. It is top if you want to party, make new friends and get a real feel of Rio's nightlife! Free caipihrinias every night at 8 is just the 🍒 on top 🎉

My stay was really nice, I ended up extending while I was here because I loved it so much. The location is great as it’s close the the beach and pretty much everything else. Ian was so nice and helpful during my stay. If you enjoy partying this place is for you! They also have a lot of activities everyday where you have a chance to socialise with others.
