Resort seemed very busy. Upon my arrival, I asked and was told all 500 rooms were booked. They should've hired more staff. Staff were not always attentive, especially down in the beach area. That was where service was lacking. Club lounge, happy hour, and breakfast at L'Etoile are ONLY available to members which is important to know before you go. One might consider signing up before staying here as I found the 4 restaurant options to be limited and underwhelming. Definitely plan to take an uber to the leave the resort for better food options. The pool "restaurant" had the least amount of options. L'Etoile is only open after 6:30 pm for dinner.

Nice isolated location and good spacy rooms. Excellent WiFi. Super comfy beds. Everything works well. Nicely styled restaurant Bene with good ocean views during breakfast and attentive staff Bar staff at pool bar is fun

Its very USA oriented : helps for great service but also many Americans Rooms okay but dated . Many spaces can use update in interior deco No small snacks at bars ( nuts or crisps ), everything has to be prepped by one of the kitchen and takes 45 mins Not sure why I have to pay a resort fee, was this optional ? Checkin guys were quite obnoxious and arrogant Isolated location means Ubering everywhere (not a problem for me )

The concierge was extremely helpful and resourceful. Guided us on tours, places to eat, shop, etc. Especially Emanuel the bell boy and Gabriel the conciege. The front desk was very accommodating and responsive. The clubhouse facilities are awesome and the staff is so inclusive, especially with the type of food. There was vegan, vegetarian, all varieties of meat, which were labeled. The fruits were exquisite. Cleanliness was exceptional but truly the location was the best. Perfect cove in Leblon, with the Atlantic in all its glory. And just a few minutes away from all attractions. We got the mountain, favela, ocean and Christ the Redeemer view. The rooms had Muslim showers in the toilets which was such a relief. Perfect

Hidden charges like when we requested a plate and knife from room service, it was charged. Nothing else

Sheraton is keeping the level high, with very nice and helpful staff, private territory where you feel yourself completely safe, private beach and pool area and probably the most beautiful tennis courts I’ve played on. Rooms are wonderful with just a marvellous view. And it’s a perfect choice for those with babies - they have a baby room, cribs, all necessary facilities everywhere and comfortable big elevators. So it’s a classic five.

The hotel is located 30 min by taxi from most sights, which can get longer with the traffic. The food is not always the best - we’ve had very dry meat in the restaurant which is not recommended.

Pool

I booked a room with sea view, they allocated us in the second floor where we could see nothing but only many trees covering the view, very disappointing. Doesn’t worth pay for sea view if they don’t provide it. Also, the room was very smelly.

Big faceless conference hotel, bit shabby and worn in places (wallpaper torn and peeling, woodwork chipped and bashed and carpets soiled in corridors, room carpet grubby, shower screen hinges dirty and pitted, furniture on balcony shabby and patio doors pitted and chipped) last couple of days of our stay spoiled by big noisy groups on a works freebie - couldn’t get into breakfast due to queues, lovely peaceful pool ambiance spoiled by screaming and singing and walked out of bar as it was so noisy)

- Fantastic breakfast with nice omelette, friendly workers - Geographically it is super well located - Super concierge with great service and advice - great room service - great ambiance in general - good security - provide all services that we need in the place

- The windows is simple, isolation is bad, so that you are waken up from time to time by the moto and sea wave (I was in the 22nd floor) - Communicated room so it depends on the luck of you: the last night is nightmare since my neighbor is apparently a fun of hard rock and loves to have the party so I hardly slept:( - except for the first night arrival, workers in the welcome desk are in general not as nice as others, not so welcome… cold sometimes even. - équipement is out of date

The Sheraton is on one edge of Rio in a quiet location with beach access. This also means always having to travel to get to Rio central areas like Santa Theresa. Uber is relatively cheap, but it does take time to get around. The rooms were excellent along with breakfast which had a wide choice. The staff were very helpful and helped store my road bike on a daily basis to avoid keeping it in the room.

The lifts are frustrating and always seem to bypass you. The shower in our room did not drain properly.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. What really stood out was the friendliness and availability of the staff to always meet our needs. A special thanks to Priscila and Gabriel in the main Concierge Desk, and Joanna at the Club Reception. But all the staff in the dining areas, the Club Area, reception, housekeeping and porters, were outstanding and were the core reason for the elevation of this hotel to 5-stars. The hotel has some wear to it but the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The pool area is large and can accommodate a large number of guests. I would advise to pay the extra for the Club experience. It is really, really worth the money. There's a separate breakfast area and they have a happy hour between 5-7 pm with snacks and drinks. You can also use the space to get some work done or chill if the weather is not inviting to go out. The hotel is a short walk away from Leblon and Ipanema, maybe 10 minutes. They also have a sizeable beach right in front, but it is not private. All the meals we had at the hotel were absolutely delicious.

There's way too much carpet in the hotel. It makes it particularly difficult to keep it clean and sanitised. In the room it was a magnet to accumulate hair. I believe it posed a challenge for the housekeeping staff to maintain the rooms in good condition. We needed to change room after the first night because there were several parties going on (it was the end of the year after all) and the room was not soundproof at all. We changed to a room that was still poorly noise insulated but at least it wasn't facing a night club. It was a pricey stay but I can understand it was one of the busiest times of the year in Rio.

The service is first class, especially the concierges. They will help with anything to make your stay pleasant. The pool is heated and has a nice size, ideal for families with children. The breakfast area and selection is absolutely amazing. The outdoor restaurant serves excellent food as well.

As beautiful the view is, the hotel is tucked away and you need to take an Uber or walk to the next larger beach. The hotel offers bikes for two hours, however they are rather old and could be updated. I made my reservations through Booking.com and I have a feeling we often get rooms that are not as nice. Ours was the farthest away from the beach and the closets to the busy road.
