I've reviewed Hotel Montecito at least once before and the fact that I keep coming back tells you in itself that I think this is a superb hotel for the warmer months. For the price, [amongst other things] you get air con and a fridge in your bedroom that you can put your own things in, a very good breakfast and a huge outdoor swimming pool with 3m diving platform. There are also Jumbo (good and cheap for if you forget your charger, flip flops, hat, sunglasses, etc!) and Lidl stores within a few minutes' walk as well direct buses to the Levski Sofia, CSKA Sofia and "Vasil Levski" football stadia. The staff really went the extra mile for me on this visit, reminding me about the private transfer to Sofia Airport that I'd requested and only charging me 10 lev for it. They even prepared me a FOC takeaway breakfast consisting of a sandwich, apple and bottle of water. The transfer driver was really friendly too.

Maybe it was just because it was a Sunday night/Monday morning rather than a Saturday night/Sunday morning (when I usually stay), but I thought the breakfast wasn't quite as good as it usually is. There was less choice of breads and cakes, and the juice machine was working one minute and not the next. Also, a suggestion - make some sauces like ketchup and mustard available! It's also a shame that the number 384 bus linking the hotel directly to Terminal 2 of Sofia Airport has been withdrawn, but this is not the Hotel's fault.

Hotel is great value and easy to get to the airport from (10 minute journey) and 24 hour reception. Hotel rooms have a kettle which is great- a coffee sachet would not go amiss.

Reception has a slightly creepy fee- very quiet at night and not very well lit. Miss Haversham vibes. I don't like the way they now use a button to hail a taxi - I sleep better knowing that a taxi has been booked and will be waiting for me when I have an early flight. To be fair though there were not any major problems with this system.

hello) the building , where the Hotel Montecito is located, seems like old, post Soviet Union, but this is not the negative side, because of old, 80-90th , building rules, it has thick walls, so i did not hear anyone from the hole or other rooms, no noise at all! So, don't ,be biased towards the appearance of the building, inside it is nice and clean. The only minus, for those who prefer 'luxury' hotels, it seems like 'old fashioned' The room was big enough, clean, two beds, comfortable, but the hood in the bathroom was broken. Breakfast - simple, every day the same food, so if you are coming for one week or more, you will be bored with it, but for few days it is fine. From the pluses - the restaurant where we had breakfast, we could order the lunch/dinner for extra payment of course, so 90% of time we had our dinner there)) The hotel has really big pool)

Plentiful FOC car parking, roughly-hourly direct bus to and from the airport (T2), decent public-transport links to other places (can get to right outside Arena Sofia and within walking distance of PFC Levski Sofia, PFC CSKA Sofia and the national football stadium), Jumbo right behind the hotel (in case you've forgotten your sunglasses, phone charger, etc!), LIDL within five minutes' walk of the hotel (cutting through the Jumbo car park is quickest!), breakfast has more than enough options to set you right up for the day, big outdoor swimming pool with diving platform and plenty of sun loungers, good air conditioning in the bedrooms.

There are a few minor areas the hotel could improve upon, for example some of the décor is a little dated, but it doesn't detract from your stay and for the money they charge you really can't complain.

Our room was large and comfortable with everything that we needed. We ate at the restauarant and found the food to be excellent and the service to be efficient and friendly. Unfortunatley we had a problem with our room and had to move , but it was speedily dealt with by the obliging reception. The airport shuttle was brilliant and very prompt.

The lighting in the bathroom was a little dark! But that is really is nit picking.

The hotel is on a good distance to the airport if you need to stay for the night before or after a flight. They organize as well transfers which is super good.

The heating was on, even though it was April and very warm, but since we were very tired and it was late, we didn't see that and were super hot the short time we were in the room to sleep. We didn't suspect heating on, as when we entered the window was widely open, so we closed and turned on AC and were wondering why it doesn't work. We discovered it in the morning that heating was actually on.

We have been coming here for more than 12 years, a stable very nice experience. We like the pool very much and the decent enough continental breakfast.

Such a shame that most workers in Bulgaria don't like their work, or in any case don't want other people to know they do. An occasional smile would have approve our rating

Excellent buffet breakfast in restaurant across from hotel. Decent amount of parking. Good size room

Swimming pool appeared to be closed for no apparent reason. Nice to have a kettle in the room but you need to supply your own drinks and cupITED OUR PURPOSES

Nice and comfortable be

The breakfast is not so good. We had booked one double bed and one single bed and they said that they didn’t have so they put us on 3 single beds.The previous time we had been there they had the same problem! They told us that is BOOKINGS problem

Everything was fine, I liked the early breakfast

It was a little bit hot and the windows doesn't have nets, some bugs were in the room.
