We wish to share our experience with the IBIS sofia airport hotel in Bulgaria. We stayed there several times during the last few years. We especially liked the renovated rooms- clean and bright. But the real Gem is the staff. The deputy Mariya is of high quality of service. it was amazing to see how under pressure and demands she keeps giving a personal and eficient service. We also witnessed how she motivates other staff memebrs for high performance. Such was Illan under her supervision. To summarize- a perfecrt stay before flying from Sofia's airport, highly recommanded.

I stayed at the hotel from 14th till 15th of January 25 . Outside it was like -6 and apparantly a poor cat got inside the hotel (the staircases) in Order to warm up a bit. A pretty much arrogant lady , i presume she was the manager, came up to the reception and shouted, insulted the staff, in front of all the guests of the hotel, because of that cat….besides that you dont shout in front of customers neither do you attack verbally the people that are working for you like that. Bad example for Ibis Sofia Airport, bad example for Accor Group

This airport IBIS is perfect for an overnight stay when taking a flight the next day. The airport shuttle service is fast and convenient. We used it both to get to the hotel (call and they pick you up, no need to book ahead) because we had come in from Plovdiv on an airport shuttle, and to take flights the next day. The rooms are comfortable for an overnight stay. The windows effectively block out airplane noise when shut. But you can hear noisy fellow guests in the halls. Breakfast, cafeteria style, is good and varied. We also ate supper in the hotel, and it was very convenient

Rooms are all marked non-smoking but some previous guest had clearly been smoking in the bathroom of my unit and the smell still stuck to everything. Had to keep the bathroom door shut

The perfect hotel for Sofia Airport. A very clean contemporary hotel with interesting retro designs around the reception, bar and restaurant areas. The staff were excellent with them being friendly, helpful and efficient (and English speaking). Food was excellent, especially the very extensive included breakfast. Free shuttle service to and from the airport is also freely available, although the terminals are actually in walking distance. Cheap long stay car parking at the hotel can be booked through associated company Parkgo. Recommended!

Friendly and helpful crew. Possible booking transfer from/to Sofia Airport for free - fast and on time. Delicious breakfast (I took take away - early flight). Room was clean, silent with all needs facilities (electric kettle and fridge). Easy and fast check-in/check-out. Special thanks for posibility early check-in before 15:00. Stable Wi-Fi connection. To city centre can use bus #84 or #184 directly from Sofia Airport or from hotel (ca. 7 mins walk) - bus stop Aleksandrija. This hotel is very good option for citybreak. Thank you! :-)

The hotel is very close to the airport and the availability of a shuttle bus every 20 min 24/7 makes it a great accommodation for travelers. Rooms are on the smaller side, but they are clean and fairly comfortable for one night stay.

There was an issue with a city tax of negligent amount. When booking on the website it is said all fees and taxes are included. When arrive at the hotel though a city tax of €0.40 per person is collected, which is a little annoying, especially when the staff does not explain it. I would recommend to the hotel management to simply waive that tax, if for any reason it cannot be included in the booking charge. That would save some guests the frustration.

Boris, Simona, Maria, Alex at front desk and bar were exceptional! Perfect scores!!!! Room is acceptable as is bathroom and housekeeping support. Amazingly quiet too!. Breakfast very good, spacious area, dinner good as well!

Would give it a 9 but : not much around the area, except airport which is good, and one breakfast elderly woman literally reached across my food tray so she could place a milk jug where she wanted to place it. Just think about that for a while. I will stop there. I would add cups to room, do not disturb options on door since housekeeping inadvertently bothered me twice in mid afternoon cleanup.

Convenient to the airport & hotel provides a shuttle bus each way & even to the airport metro station if you want to head into the city. Train is just a 30 minute trip. Dinner meals are very good & breakfast is excellent.

Most staff give slow & sometimes reluctant service. No maps or info on what to do in Sofia. Poor lighting in room if you wish to read. Few PowerPoint's in room. Dinner meals are good but take a long time to come. Area around hotel isn't conducive to walking.

The hotel is near the airport which suited me perfectly, easy to get to. It is a 15 minute taxi ride into the centre of Sofia. The staff were all unfailingly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was pretty good. My bed was comfortable and the shower powerful.

The window in my room would not open, it was broken and I could not set the air conditioning to a level where I could sleep without being disturbed (too cold, too hot, too noisy, etc). That was the only downside.

I wanted a hotel by the airport so I could make it to my early flight. This hotel fit perfectly. It was comfortable and the breakfast was very good. The shuttle was super easy to use. I had a great rest before heading back home.

The directions for parking could have been a bit better. The parking lot itself was rather small and not paved, but I didn't have a car for long as I returned it the day before I was to depart. Also, it is a bit removed from everything else, so there were not restaurants to walk to.
