Cosy and spacious rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast, excellent location to explore the area of Varna and Golden Sands. The Alekta Hotel is situated 5 min walk from the bus stop (line 9,409,109 etc to Golden Sands, Airport and Varna city centre), 5 min walk to restaurants and shops, 10 min walk to the seafront promenade wich go all the way to Varna city centre. The Alekta Hotel has a front swimming pool for the summer and cosy areas for relaxation. The furniture in the rooms is a little bit outdated, but functional and clean with some interesting interior design items. For me was a pleasant experience overall

The staff were amazing, they couldn't do enough for us. the reception was staffed 24 hours and they spoke good english and the rest of the staff spoke broken English. There was plenty for breakfast which was good value for money, traditional Bulgarian, we enjoyed it. Car parking was literally on the front door, we went out of season so plenty of space when we was there maybe a struggle when the hotel is busy but there may also be another car park. the hotel was well maintain, spotlessly clean, our 3 three rooms were well decorated with modern en-suite shower and toilet.

we requested a double bed and as usual when staying outside of the UK we got twin mattress that was comfortable but usually the bed frame held the mattress together so no slipping between them. the 2 quits was big enough for each mattress. Not much to do around the hotel without driving, We had a rented car and plenty of things to do so wasn't a problem for us. There's also a lovely Italian restaurant a 5 minite walk that we went to 3 nights in a row because the food and service was great.

Very nice staff who helped us out with many things including printing out a bus ticket. The view from 3rd floor was great. Breakfast was very good, everything you could want. The beach is a 15 minute walk, the Sea Garden walk starts steps away. Room had private balcony. The 409 bus, which goes from the Central bus station, thru the city, all the way to Golden Sands, stops close by

Not the hotel’s fault but if you don’t have a car, there are only 1 or 2 restaurants in walking distance.

Great location, close to the Varna Delfinarium (20 min walk through the city garden), breakfast was fine, the rooms were really clean, spacious and comfortable. They even put an additional bed in our room for our second child (4y) for free.

It would be nice to have a restaurant also for dinner in the hotel but there are plenty of restaurants in the area, so this was not an issue for us.

The location is perfect, you are a very short walk from the start of the Garden Walk, and also up to the main road where there were great restaurants. The staff are wonderfully friendly, and the breakfast was very good for my partner. Nice coffee. The room was quiet, overlooking the pool. The pool is great on a hot day, and despite being small, it is all perfectly proportioned. I would highly recommend this hotel. Bulgaria is a lovely country; Varna was a gem, and this was our first trip, but I can say, it will be the start of many trips! I recommend hiring a car; this hotel has a small parking area, for added convenience. I don't normally leave reviews, but we were happily surprised with this last minute booking to tide us over until our flight the following day. Happy travels everyone!! :)

Being gluten free and vegan, it is always appreciated if they can have alternatives in their freezer so that I can have something to eat. There was nothing for me for breakfast, so Almond milk, Beyond Meat Burgers (keep frozen until a guest needs it) and steamed/roasted vegetables would always be appreciated, even for breakfast! A healthy breakfast is a cooked one....as a vegan coeliac, Burgers (only Beyond meat is also gluten free), plus pan fried greens, mushrooms, onions and carrots, makes for a perfect and healthy breakfast! The staff were wonderful, despite the above...and I appreciate their efforts!

Lovely hotel! Clean and spacious rooms, good swimming pool, delicious breakfast, sea is quite close, staff is friendly. Room had balcony facing swimming pool, which is very convenient to watch kids swimming.

The room could have kettle for tea/coffee. Even though staff suggest they can give hot water, I am not comfortable to go with my pajama asking for something in the early morning or late evening from staff members.

When I contacted the hotel they to make sure booking is ok as that was alternative choice organised by bookings. Long story why. The hotel said booking have made mistake booking one studio for us family of 4- with 2 young children. Which lead us to separate from the children and have extra room instead an apartment and be all together. Understanding our situation and not able to do much in this case on their behalf they try to put the rooms one next to another at least. Which was very kind of them. Staff directed us to good place for food as they have only breakfast. Assistant with transport by calling taxi and also having taxi to collect us from airport. Rooms were clean and serviced every day. Which is lovely. We enjoyed our stay.

Great place. Kind and helpful receptionists. Perfect swiming pool. Nice view from balcony on the 2th floor to the roof and sea, Very good breakfast. Beautiful surroundings of the hotel. Only 7 minutes to the beach. Near enter to the big park. There are restaurants, shops, bus stops nearby. I can highly recommend.

The area is noisy at night a lot of loud cars racing, but I guess it is not hotel fault. No elevator you have to carry your luggage to the last floor

Excellent location, very quiet. Close to the beach. The room was very cosy. Good breakfast. We especially enjoyed the swimming pool.

No kettle in the room (we wanted to have some tea before bedtime)... No elevator in the building - one has to carry his luggage through one, two or three floors...
