The lobby area is a fantastic place to hang out and meet with a friend. The Charcut restaurant off the lobby is also fantastic. They have great pizza, pasta and meat (they are butchers) and can make anything gluten free. I LOVED the room. this is the second time I have stayed here and would live here if I could. The ceilings are high, the decor is fabulous, they have blackout blinds, the bathtub is big and deep, the bathroom is huge, the bed is really comfortable, the desk chair is adjustable in height, there is a Nespresso machine and so on... Location is excellent. Lots of restaurants nearby and a grocery store across the street. Also, a section of the main floor has an area you can eat your takeout if you prefer that to eating in your room.
The one thing they could improve is Wifi. Its fine when the hotel's not full. But if you have a group staying there (particularly university age) then it slows down. I would also appreciate a microwave in the room.

The hotel seemed to be in a safe location and there were several amenities nearby. The room was modern and clean, and our request was accommodated.
When we arrived at night for our stay after driving for several hours, we were advised that there was no parking available at the hotel. We were told to avail of paid parking down the road and to walk back to the hotel with all of our luggage. We attempted this, but the parking was only available for 4 hours at a time. We were going to leave the hotel and stay elsewhere, but another staff member then advised that there were actually multiple parking spaces available at the honestly. We also disliked the fact that parking at the hotel was not automatically available to guests and was also only available for an additional cost.

The hotel is very chic and European. The rooms are small but we’ll designed. Comfortable bed. The staff were eager to please and very polite and accommodating. The manager was very understanding and accommodating when I expressed my disappointment at having 3 cold showers out of 4 nights. He offered a substantial discount for the inconvenience.
Even though the hotel is brand new, some of the towels were frayed. The shower in my room did not have hot water for 3 of the 4 nights I stayed. After continuous requests to fix the hot water, the shower was finally hot on the last night. I found the prices for the accommodation too high for the amenities offered. There was no bar or restaurant yet functioning yet the price per night was very expensive.

My recent stay at the ALT Hotel in Calgary's university district was exceptionally pleasing; I would recommend this hotel for several key reasons: Prime Location: The hotel's proximity to essential amenities significantly enhanced my stay. It is near a mall, providing easy access to various shopping options. Additionally, its closeness to the university is perfect for visitors attending events or meetings in the academic sphere. Vibrant Surroundings: The hotel is nestled in a lively area, surrounded by a rich selection of coffee shops and restaurants. This diversity offered a delightful culinary journey, catering to different tastes and preferences right at my doorstep. Convenient Access to Downtown: The hotel's location offers seamless connectivity to downtown Calgary. This was particularly beneficial for culinary explorations, art events and exploring the city's core, making it an excellent choice for business and leisure travellers. Quality of Accommodation: Beyond its prime location, the hotel provided a comfortable and pleasant stay. The rooms were well-appointed, clean, and equipped with modern amenities, ensuring a relaxing and hassle-free experience. Service Excellence: The staff at the ALT Hotel were welcoming and professional, contributing significantly to the overall positive experience. Their attentiveness and dedication to guest satisfaction were evident throughout my stay.
While my stay at the ALT Hotel in Calgary had many positives, it was marred by two middle-of-the-night fire alarms due to a burst pipe in extremely cold weather. The lack of communication during these incidents, particularly at the marshal point and regarding when it was safe to return to our rooms, was disappointing. Additionally, the absence of any gesture, like a discount, to acknowledge the inconvenience caused was notable.

My recent stay at Alt hotel was thoroughly enjoyable. The room was clean and quiet and featured modern decor. The bed was especially comfortable. The hotel’s location was ideal, and the underground parking was both convenient and spacious. Architecturally, the hotel boasted a well-designed structure with an aesthetically pleasing interior. Additionally, the staff were friendly and attentive that made my stay feel personalized and welcoming. This hotel certainly made my visit memorable and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking comfort and style.

Since all of my meetings were at / near the University of Calgary, this was a great location. It was also convenient to have a supermarket across the street when I didn't feel like having restaurant food again or just wanted some tea bags. The staff were kind enough to bring me a kettle when I requested it. Room/bathroom are beautifully designed.
For a hotel aiming for the boutique feel, it was interesting that no ceramic mugs were provided in the rooms -- just paper cups. Having tea as a beverage option would have been nice, as this is what I'm used to seeing in other hotels (fancy and not fancy). The cool-looking chair in the corner of the bedroom is really just a chair-shaped sculpture.

Nice hair and body products. It was great having full sized bottles and not having to squeeze stuff out of a small bottle Excellent location close to everything

Location very good. Transit available . Many options for food and entertainment within a few blocks. Just opened so very new building. Underground parking available for a fee. 24 hr staff.
Obvious new construction punchlist items. Door closer not adjusted, usual new construction touchup needed. Personally I do not like the pod coffee makers if you have to pay extra for additional pods. Would prefer standard hot water kettle so can use my own coffee if needed. Could not connect phone to tv for casting You Tube. I did not like the connection with the tv and remote . I prefer simple remote control to tv connections and options.

Location in the University District. Services in the area. Although not in the centre of Calgary, the location is excellent and city attractions and neighbourhoods are easily accessible from the hotel.
We liked it all, however we had a car. If you do not have your own transportation you may be somewhat challenged accessing the city by public transit, although the bus does run through the University District.
