All in all, I enjoyed my stay at Chateau Louis. It’s not luxurious, but it’s clean, secure, and practical — especially for long-distance rail travellers like me. Despite the online complaints I’d seen, I had no issues with staff or cleanliness. And with the supermarket next door, laundry on site, and solid amenities — it made for a really convenient stopover.

The only downside? No direct public transport from the VIA Rail station. But if you’re travelling light — like I was with just a backpack — it’s manageable on foot.

room with good air-conditioning (we checked-in during summer), hotel close to a bus stop/starbucks/superstore, with microwave so you can reheat food bought outside, with access to vending machine and ice maker, daily cleans your room, receptionists available 24hours, we were able to check-in as early as 2pm as a room is already vacant and cleaned

very basic toiletries provided (no toothbrush & toothpaste, no cotton buds, no bodywash soap), no laundry bag, no slippers and bath robe available in the room, breakfast not included in price, high charge (250 cad) for damage deposit

I loved the fact I could check in early as I arrived early, no problem, no hassle. And it had a later check out than any other place I have stayed in, which made the morning a very relaxed start. I actually over slept passed my alarm, and they were very understanding about being out 30 mins later. Check-in was super fast and efficient as well as checkout. I have been in some places where it took well over 15 mins to get checked in. Not here. The front desk was amazing.

I honestly have nothing bad to say. I will definitely be booking with them again when needed. The bed was a little harder than I would normally use, but honestly, it was still comfortable, and I had a great sleep.

The property is very refreshing because it’s still in the old style from the 70s and 80s very clean very well looked after The lounge is beautiful. They have mechanical piano that plays Chopin all any kind of music The dining room is fantastic they have a great menu not that expensive plus wine menu is right up to date. They also have a VLT lounge where we watch the hockey game. It’s got lots of TVs lots of tables and the atmosphere is very calm just lovely.

There was nothing not to like they have a big convention centre right beside their hotel, which belongs to them, so there was loads of parking. Very busy on theweekend.

The front staff when I checked in was excellent. Very friendly. The hotel is very solid in terms of construction, so there was very little in the way of noise to be heard from other patrons of the hotel. If it wasn't for all the cars in the parking lot and seeing other people in the public parts of the hotel it sounded like we were the only people there.

A number of items in the room are in need of repair or replacement. The only part that I felt actually impacted the room was the bathroom door did not latch or lock.

The room service was actually AMAZING, and reasonably priced. My pancakes were THE most perfectly cooked pancakes, and my husband said that was the best French toast he has ever had. Our room was very clean , and the staff was very friendly. It was our first time staying at this hotel and we would definitely come back! Very pleased!

Access or Netflix or other streaming services on the TV would have been a bonus, as there weren’t many tv channels to choose from and we predominantly use streaming services for entertainment at home.

Stayed on the king suite with jacuzzi spa bath & fire place , bed was comfy, Jacuzzi what I liked had the option of jets blowing air and or regular jets with circulating water The self standing shower had a few shower heads and steamer which was nice :) Staff were friendly at check in. The bar down stairs vlts for those who like slots, staff was friendly as well as a friendly atmosphere. The buffet was amazing great selection, wonderful desserts. Staff were friendly . A wonderful experience all around I loved that feeling that historical feel to the building.

The room has had a recent refurbishment so was clean and had all the amenities you need. The hotel bar was amazing and I encountered the best service in Canada by Lisa. She gave us tips on where to go and just all round brilliant service.

The front desk staff were not hospitable at all. The few times we needed assistance throughout our stay it was met with disinterest. Quite disappointing. In saying that, Lisa, exceeded our expectations so made up for areas lacking

The jacuzzi tub was great! I love that they changed out the carpets and did some renovations makes the hotel look alot cleaner, the bed and pillows are always our favourite park of our stay

I feel like the jacuzzi/king bed suits should include a microwave and I believe the tvs should be updated to more modern ones to match the $200 a night price! I was quite disappointed to watch movies in the tub with poor quality picture and sound. I think those small changes can really enhance guests stay and allow

I loved the architecture and lighting in the room, had that classic timeless feel. This is our second time visiting here and came back this past weekend for a short getaway. Will definitely return and so close to everything!

The jacuzzi setting was so low and didn't really give that full relaxing sensation I craved for opting in for this. Nonetheless will definitely return soon!
