Lovely surrounds next to the golf course and on 55 acres. It felt like a grand hotel as we drove in. It's worth the extra 15 minutes drive on the other side of Kamloops for the serenity. The room was lovely with a balcony looking over the gardens and across to the mountain. I recommend the garden side if you want to avoid the train and traffic noise from across the river. Comfortable bed and good shower. Quality coffee for the machine. Wonderful helpful young lady Makaila at reception. There is a handy ice machine and cold drink machine. The lights across the bathroom mirror are really good for putting on make-up. It is reasonably priced.

Even though they have a restaurant, it isn't open for breakfast. They do offer a complimentary muffin, museli bar, and fruit mix. There is no fridge, toaster or microwave, etc, in the room. There is also no kettle, so unless you drink coffee instead of tea, you miss out.

Our stay at the South Thompson Inn was truly unforgettable. Nestled along the river and surrounded by picturesque mountains, the setting is peaceful and breathtaking—a perfect retreat from the bustle of everyday life. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with charming details that give the entire property a warm, boutique feel. The room was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated, with a balcony overlooking the water that made mornings extra special. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything we needed was right at our fingertips. We especially appreciated the attention to detail, from the quality linens to the locally inspired decor. What really stood out was the hospitality. Every staff member we encountered was genuinely friendly and eager to make our stay memorable. Whether we had questions about the area or needed extra towels, we were helped with a smile. If you're looking for a quiet, scenic stay with personal touches and welcoming service, the South Thompson Inn is a fantastic choice. We can’t wait to return!

There is no breakfast

This hotel is the most delightful 1990s time capsule. It is so charming and I loved the warm decor. They charge more for a river view, but the mountain view rooms are nicer! No highway noise and a lovely green space with 'mountains' to look onto. The location is certainly a drive out of town, but it's worth it for the beautiful and relatively peaceful surrounds. There's horses on the property and a lot of farms and ranch lands around. Plus, it is pet friendly! The long driveway and white fences made me feel like I was going to a 90s golf resort -- which is honestly the highest compliment. It was cozy in the rain and splendid in the sun. I really loved my stay here!

Our king room didn't have a fridge and the restaurant didn't have vegetarian options, so we had to go into Kamloops for every meal.

It is in a rural area just outside of Kamloops, very quiet and the building is well kept. Room faced the mountain. There is an outdoor seating area accessible directly from the room via sliding patio doors, with a couple of chairs. The staff was courteous.

Personally, I would have preferred a room further away from the reception area.

Very friendly staff. The bed linens were very clean and comfortable. There was deck furniture so that you could sit outside to enjoy the River view. It was great that you didn’t have the usual hotel noises, very quiet room even with the train running across the River.

The hamburger at supper was very dry and not value for cost. The rest of our party enjoyed their meals. The steak was over cooked, ordered rare but it was more medium. At the cost of the steak it could have been cooked better.

The room was lovely in a tranquil setting on the river. A 'grab and go' breakfast was given to us when we left early the next morning as a sit down breakfast was not included which we knew. The 'grab and go' breakfast was appreciated so we didn't have to get breakfast elsewhere before our travels.

My husband booked this accommodation and didn't research exactly where it was located so it was further out of Kamloops than we would have liked as we were heading in the opposite direction the following morning towards Whistler. So that was our fault not the accommodation. If you don't need to be right in Kamloops then this would be a lovely spot to stay or if you're a golfer with the course right next door.

It is a nice location..a little isolated from any convenience but quiet on the mountain side, restaurant was good. Nice pool and hottub area..very clean...im sorry i left a bathibg suit there that was not recovered..but a nice old inn feel to the place. Great that they allow dogs

Shorter hours for any food...the pop machines only take bills...but even that didnt seem to work. Had to get the front deak guy to open up the machine.

Lovely location overlooking the South Thompson River - our room had an excellent view of the river and the golf course. Very quiet and peaceful (barely heard the trains across the river). Although the restaurant was closed for the winter season, the hosts provided coffee/tea and muffins in the mornings which was a lovely touch to start off our days. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Loved the jacuzzi tub but it is quite loud when the jacuzzi function is running.

Such a cute place! It was unique and adorable. Clean! Lovely staff. Great views. Excellent location for our stay as we were travelling east so it set us up for an easy morning departure without having to travel through the city. Our evening meal in The Library was delicious.

No fridges or microwaves in the room was a surprise not often encountered in hotels now. Beds were not overly comfortable - acceptable but not much more.

Lovely location. Fantastic scenery. Friendly Staff and great bar and restaurant. Loved sitting in the sun by the pool. Cycles available and plenty to explore.

It was perfectly correct re breakfast so can't complain, but a more substantial offering would have been nice as nowhere to eat nearby and as we were travelling and had stuff with us, a microwave and toaster would have been appreciated. Reception Staff so lovely and that helped.
