The King Room on the 4th floor with a view of the lake, is one of my favorites, always has been. It is shady in the morning for coffee while you sit on the balcony and sunny later in the day to catch a tan if you don't feel like being "peopley". Also - the STAFF! I can't say enough good things about the staff - always friendly, accommodating and go above and beyond. Shout-out to Dianna!!!! The Flowers are still amazing. L.

Nothing that was the hotel's fault. I usually never book in high traffic times and did -- sooooo there were a lot of people, I do prefer my off season bookings. Again - nothing against the hotel - just book accordingly. :-)

Room was spacious and cozy for a single traveler. I liked the option to park out front and walk through the building to get to my room as I only brought a back pack to stay overnight. The pool and hot tub were fantastic but the restaurant left something to be desired. I enjoyed the ghost town at an early hour and I was the only one present the entire time, made the experience extra special and no, I did not see any ghosts wandering around on my own.

The restaurant served broth for soup and their special of the day as far a soup goes was a bust. I had a side caser salad as well and a beer, which was nice and filling because I ate later then normal.

We had booked a two-story loft suite and it was a large amount of space at a really great price. Even better value for dollars spent was the view. Absolutely gorgeous view of the lake, manicured gardens, and some of the historic 'town' buildings from a rear window upstairs. There was no AC (and we didn't need it for mid-June) but 2 pedestal fans were provided. The restaurant is comfortable, again with amazing views, 'something for everyone' menu options, and really friendly staff.

Unfortunately, the mattress wasn't very comfortable as it was noticeably aged, there were only 2 pillows provided (most hotels provide 4), and the bedding was somewhat threadbare.

It was a truly unique and amazing experience. This place is much more than just a hotel. When booking, we didn’t expect much, considering the moderate price for such a remarkable landmark property and its obviously noisy location. However, it turned out to be a genuinely historical site, featuring one of the richest private museum collections we've seen in Canada. I recommend setting aside at least three hours to explore the 'Ghost Town.' I especially enjoyed the library in the hall, the gardens, the beach, and other hotel facilities.

Location was incredible and over all it felt like its own little world while we stayed. The bathroom was also the cleanest I’ve ever seen for a hotel room! Beds were super comfortable too. My husband and I loved that each room had a balcony so that we could “sneak away” at night to hangout while the kids slept without disturbing them.

Truly the only downfall was how hot the room got! However that’s our own fault for booking during a heat wave. Would love to visit in the fall!

The Chateau sits on a lake and is in a beautiful setting. Staff were friendly, food was hot and home made. Room was adequate in size and the beds were very comfortable. Little patio out the front was nice to sit on. Great things to keep kids occupied. Indoor heated swimming pool, games billiard table etc. Loved the quirkiness of the place

Wasn't anything I didn't like. Wouldn't go in summer as there is no air conditioning due to they work on a generator only. Shoulder season best as you don't need the a.c.

The room was fantastic, the kids loved it. Super easy to keep everyone entertained. The common rooms were awesome, lots of different things to do. The ghost town was so much fun. 50% off because we were staying at the chateau and we only had to pay once, then we could come and go as we pleased throughout our stay.

The hotel doesn't have air conditioning. The rooms got uncomfortable if the windows were closed. But! They did email me and let me know that there wasn't any air conditioning (during a heat wave), and they let me know while I still had time to cancel. So it was uncomfortable but not anything that the staff could do. Unless they know how to turn down the sun.

The concrete paths throughout the garden and along the back, the indoor and outdoor garden, the common area, exploring the hotel after my kids went to bed and spooking myself was a personal highlight 😆 There was endless things to do, my kids rollerskated and scootered around the entire property at every given opportunity, and a family favorite was finding a new route to and from our room (128) to the restaurant at mealtimes. We could have easily spent a week here exploring the hotel alone, one of my kids even wants us to "just move in to the hotel"! Thanks for the great stay, great memories

The hotub was like having a warm bath w a pile of strangers. There arent any actual jets and the temperature was too low. Towels could be available in the pool area

The location was amazing. The room was comfortable. It is alongside a major highway but the balconies face into the inner courtyard and so traffic noise is minimal. A bit of a puzzle finding my way around but that added some fun and there were well placed directions. Lots to do in this area and may come back with family.

There was no microwave for reheating a meal but we made do. We understand that the chateau runs on its own electricity generating system and quests are requesting to be mindful of this. There should have been a recycle container in the room. There was however one by the elevator.

It's a hidden gem. There's much more to it than you see from the highway with the beautiful gardens and beach. The hotel and rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The dining room staff were very friendly and pleasant despite being short staffed and very busy. The Food was fast and delicious. The attached ghost town was very interesting and fun to walk around, especially the roundhouse with the old train cars

We had no complaints whatsoever and am looking forward to returning for perhaps 2 nights so we can spend a day relaxing on the beach and enjoying the facilities a little more.
